The car is in very good condition, has never been driven in the winter, and has no rust. I've owned the car for over 15 years and put mostly highway miles on it. Has always been garage kept and maintained properly. The interior is also in very good condition. The leather is still very soft and unblemished. The wood trim is all still very nice. The exterior paint is in very good shape I have allways covered the car and detailed once a year. Brand new tires and battery this spring, and all original wheels. The V12 5.3L engine is in very good shape, the top end was rebuilt 2 years ago and that was because the cam cover gaskets needed replacing. The cooling system has all been rebuilt and functions perfectly, as well as the AC, it blows cold. The car is in original condition there has been no modifications made and allways replaced with oem jaguar parts. The only thing that has been replaced and not oem is the stereo system. I upgraded the old tape deck with a high end Nokamishi CD player and 6 speaker sound system with sub that sounds ten times better. You will not find a nicer one out there. I hate to sell the car, but I need the space, too many vehicles. I prefer a Local Pickup but if someone wants to arrange there own shipping after payment has cleared, I'm fine with that. 2014 Jaguar XKR-S GT claws at the driving enthusiast in us
Wed, 27 Mar 2013If you still find yourself coming up a few seconds short per lap in your Jaguar XKR-S, the British automaker has introduced the XKR-S GT - a cat specifically tuned for the racing circuit - at the New York Auto Show.
While Jaguar has left the supercharged 5.0-liter V8 unchanged (550 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque), it has tuned and tweaked all the items that really make cars go quicker on the track (e.g. suspension, aerodynamics, contact patches, brakes). A once-over reveals upgraded go-fast goodies including a new ventilated hood, extended wheel arch spats, reworked front end with a bespoke front splitter and canards, a massive rear wing, height-adjustable adaptive dampers, active exhaust, carbon-ceramic brakes and sticky Pirelli Corsa tires. Try as we might, the driver in us can't find anything we not to like about this enthusiast-tuned coupe.
Of course all of the upgraded XK goodness doesn't come easy, or cheap. Jaguar will limit North American sales to just 30 units and price each at $174,000. Learn all the juicy details in the official press release below.
Porsche 911 Turbo and Nissan GT-R Nismo star in World's Greatest Drag Race 4
Fri, 26 Sep 2014We love Motor Trend's annual World's Greatest Drag Race video. Now back for its fourth appearance, the idea of lining some of the world's fastest cars up for a ten-wide, straight-line, full-throttle run is, well... it's pretty freaking badass.
The lineup this year boasts some impressively fast cars to be sure. The group of ten includes the following darlings: Alfa Romeo 4C, BMW i8, BMW M4, Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, Ford Fiesta ST, Jaguar F-Type R Coupe, Nissan GT-R Nismo, Porsche 911 Turbo S, Subaru WRX STI and, last but not least, the Volkswagen GTI. Give us any one of those for the weekend, and we're happy to take the keys.
It must be said though, that for a publication that draws as much water as Motor Trend does, there are some big cars that we might expect to be here instead. The Lamborghini Huracán or Ferrari 458 Speciale would have added some exotic flare to the list, and the omissions of the Chevy Corvette Stingray (for the second year in a row) and the Dodge Challenger Hellcat are real head-scratchers.
1964 Jaguar XKE slinks into Jay Leno's Garage
Wed, 07 Aug 2013The idea of altering a classic Jaguar E-Type might seem preposterous to some, but Jasen Len of XKs Unlimited managed to create a modified 1964 E-Type that stays true to the Jag's timeless design. Just a few months after Jay Leno featured his own original E-Type on Jay Leno's Garage, Len stopped by to show off his custom Jaguar creation.
Starting out with a rust-ravaged body, Len made the car just the way he wanted it to be. He started off with some minor changes to the car's exterior like the Le Mans-inspired racing lights and handmade front bumpers, handmade sills with integrated exhaust and flared rear fenders. Inside, he dropped the floor to make more interior space and reworked the E-Type's styling for more of a modern look. We have to say, if you're going to mess with a Series 1 E-Type, this is the way to do it.
Sadly, even though Len and Leno spend plenty of time talking about the car's 300-horsepower 3.8-liter inline six-cylinder, we never get to hear the car fire up. Check out the JLG video, which is posted below, and as a bonus, enjoy the gallery from Jaguar showing a 1961 E-Type.
