1986 Jaguar V12 Coupe “NO RESERVE AUCTION”

This California classic Jaguar XJS engine, transmission, body and interior are in nice shape considering its age. There is absolutely no rust, has one small dent in the hood (easily repaired) and a few small door dings. Although the car looks good from 10 feet away it needs a new black paint job. AAMCO painted my black 1987 XJ6 Jaguar and it looked absolutely stunning. The 5.4 Litre V12 engine starts easily, runs strong and at normal temperature. Automatic transmission shifts fine. Tires are in good shape and have ample remaining tread life. The A/C runs cold but is ready for its annual shot of Freon. The interior is in good condition, no rips or broken seams. The car includes a trip computer, original radio & speakers and original mobile telephone including the trunk equipment. The floor mats are original but could use new carpeting. This is a smoke free car. I believe everything works except for cruise control (it needs a new rubber bellows). The original owner’s manual with leather case and the tool kit with case go with the car.

Being a 28 year old classic I am selling the car as is, with no warranties and no return. The successful bidder will be required to make a deposit within 24 hours of $1,000 through PayPal. Full payment is required before the car is released (I will contact you with wire transfer details). Buyer is responsible for shipping arrangements within 7 days.

Jaguar testing hardcore F-Type R-S GT?

Wed, 16 Apr 2014

Some automakers make a hardcore model, then sit back and revel in its awesomeness. Jaguar does things a little differently. It takes a standard production model, gives it more power, bigger brakes and a tighter suspension and slaps the letter R on it. Then it gives it even more power, even bigger brakes and an even tighter suspension and calls it an R-S. Sometimes the engineers in Coventry don't even think that's enough, so they strip out some weight and dial things up even further and call it an R-S GT.
So far, they've only gone that far with the XK (transformed first into the XKR, then the XKR-S, and finally the XKR-S GT), but with that model on its way out, Jaguar seems to be preparing to give the newer F-Type a similar treatment. Now we can't be sure that what we're looking at is an F-Type R-S GT, especially since the 550-horsepower engine from the XKR-S and XFR-S is already powering the existing F-Type R Coupe, but it does seem to have all the makings of a hardcore performance model.
Compared to the existing F-Type, the development model pictured here has a bigger front splitter (like the one on the Project 7 concept), a big rear wing and a set of what looks like pretty big lightweight alloys. It's also, tellingly, a roadster, which (unlike the coupe) has until now topped out at 500hp with the V8 S model. So while it may be hard to say exactly just what Jaguar has in store for us here (or what they'll call it), one thing's for sure: it's gonna be fast and loud.

2014 Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake is one hot hauler

Wed, 05 Mar 2014

Oh look, another super-hot wagon that won't be making its way to the US. Awesome.
Actually, in all honesty, it really is awesome. Meet the Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake, a red-hot (or blue-hot?) version of the rakish XF wagon that originally bowed at the Geneva Motor Show back in 2012. The formula here is pretty much plug-and-play: take the 5.0-liter supercharged V8 from the XFR-S and shove it in the wagon body, and add all of the necessary visual flair fitting of a properly powerful Jag. The end result is an estate that packs 542 horsepower, 502 pound-feet of torque, and the ability to sprint to 60 miles per hour in a scant 4.6 seconds. Meow.
This Jaguar joins a growing segment of ultra-hot wagons in Europe, rounded out by offerings like the Audi RS6 Avant and the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG longroof - the latter of which you can actually buy in North America. Sounds like the sort of comparison test we'd love to facilitate. Guess we'll have to leave that to our friends at Autocar, though.

Jaguar XE hits the 'Ring wearing swirly camo

Wed, 21 May 2014

Jaguar is happy to show off its new XE sedan on its social media sites, but when testing at the Nürburgring, it's a very different story. These spy shots show the new model in camouflage to make it much harder to discern, but there are still some intriguing details to pick out.
These photos give us a really good look at the XE's quirky rear end. The sedan has a super short trunk that almost fools you into thinking its a notchback, but the top edge of the trunk is clearly visible. It's a somewhat odd-looking design with the rear glass running underneath the roof's overhang to create an integrated spoiler. Despite the camo, the front end is the same as ever with a blunt edge and sharp headlights. Jag certainly isn't afraid to try something a little different compared to the XE's competitors, notably the BMW 3 Series and Audi A4.
Some technical details about the XE are already established. This 3 Series-fighter is slated to go on sale in foreign markets in 2015 and in the US in 2016. We know that it ride's on Jag's new aluminum platform that also underpins the C-X17 crossover concept, and power comes from a pair of 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engines, available in petrol- or diesel-fueled configurations.
