The Amazing Jaguar XJR, 1997 Sedan.

VEHICLE CONDITION:

THIS CAR IS NEARLY PERFECT CONDITION. The exterior, I have to say, is practically flawless.

The paint job is EXCEPTIONALLY MINT. Only the tiniest scuff can be seen on the front bumper, the rest of the finish is superb and practically glows with a fine midnight blue-black shine. I love hand washing it and it has definitely been well taken care of! Pride of ownership throughout.

The interior, although it is less than mint condition, it is still totally clean, well taken care of and fully functioning. It has some slight signs of wear on the seats (minimal) and part of the headliner is bowed, but the rest of the interior is still in perfect, nice working condition and it looks absolutely great.

Tires have 75% tread still left on them and the rims are in excellent condition.

OVERVIEW:

This 1997 Jaguar XJR is a finely tuned, exceptionally powerful, near mint condition vehicle that absolutely will turn heads wherever you go. So, if you are the shy, reserved type this car probably wont do since there is not a day that goes by when I drive this car that people don't stop to comment on how beautiful she is! I've met dozens of new people just by parking at the grocery stores and having folks stop me to comment on this car, saying things like "What a beautiful car!" and " I've got one of these beauties at home myself" and "Wow! Is that a Rolls Royce?!" (lol) and my favorite from a little boy, "I love your car, will you marry me?" It is definitely a social "ice breaker" whether you like that perk or not, : )

This car is so much fun to drive too, a real pleasure, smooth, like it is gliding over the pavement, responsive, quick acceleration, really powerful get up and go for sure! You can beat any hot rod out the gate with this performance driven ride! I enjoy my everyday errands ten times more when I get to drive the Jag.

Being in the auto industry for over 25 years I did my research on this purchase, searched for 2 years for this beauty. You cannot find a better combination of style, class and performance out there for the buck. Replaced exhaust system with a stainless steel one i.e. mina, borla. Yoko's are the best tire. Get a radar detector!

It's a beautiful car no doubt, it drives like a dream, for the 4.0L supercharged motor it's not really hard on gas I'd say I get 25 mpg . It's a real head turner, the 17 inch rims are nice for and stock rim from the dealer, I like the CD changer since it is easy to put 6 of my favorite cd's into the disc changer and listen to a variety of my favorite music all at the touch of a button.

It'a rocket in hiding. If a BMW 540 owner ever had this car, he would be bragging about his V-8. Power is amazing at 322 HP. New Mods (V8's) have higher HP 370 but about the same same torque. Had many other HP luxury cars. This one has power is better than BMW's 540, or Mercedes 430 or Lexus 400 series. Reliability has been better than average for me. Brakes are way better than any any german car. I have 57K on original brakes and they still look good for another 20K. Both my BMW's and Mercedes ate brakes about ever 20-25K. Can't believe it took me this long to buy a Jaguar, I'm never going back to anything else!

Jay Leno drives the Jaguar F-Type Project 7

Even for Jay Leno, Monterey Car Week is a special experience. After all, his collection is absolutely massive, but vehicles show up for this exclusive event on the California peninsula that even Jay doesn't know about. He's giving us a just a tiny taste of this year's event in the latest episode of Jay Leno's Garage. The majority of this clip is dedicated to an in-depth look at the Jaguar F-Type Project 7, and Jay gets the details direct from designer Ian Callum. The two of them are old friends after doing the 2014 Mille Miglia together in a Jaguar XK120. After getting a mountain of info about the inspiration behind this special F-Type, they go for a ride on some beautiful California roads to listen to the wonderful, crackling exhaust. Following the drive, Jay finds a racecar from the teens that he is completely unfamiliar with. Thankfully, the mechanic is nearby to shed some light on this rarity. We hope there're more videos to come about Leno's visit to Monterey Car Week, but hopefully his team can fix some of the sound issues in this clip.

Jaguar testing facelifted XJ in UK

Europe's flagship luxury sedans don't go through their lifecycles quite as quickly as other models need to, but with the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class hitting the road, Jaguar must feel it's time for a little update for its XJ sedan. And as these spy shots demonstrate, that's just what it has in store.
Falling firmly in the subtle-facelift category (as opposed to the full refresh), the placement of the camouflage on this new XJ appears to be hiding new fascias front and rear. Reshaped bumpers, trunk lid, grille and air apertures seem to be part of the impending facelift, but for better or worse, those black rear pillars seem to be staying put.
While Jaguar's at it, we can expect some updates to the cabin as well, with upgraded infotainment, ambient lighting and such. But don't go expecting anything radical at this stage. The XJ has been on the market for about four years, and it'll be another few before it demands a complete overhaul.
