You are bidding on a very nice running and driving 2004 Jaguar XJR Supercharged 4 door sedan. This Jag has 120,272 and has always been a very reliable and enjoyable car to own. Adult owned and maintained by a non smoker, non pet owner. The car was in a light front end collision. The bumper cover was knocked off and there are some scratches in the hood area. It has a salvage title. The damage was repaired professionally and it runs and drives very nicely. There are not any alignment issues or strange habits from the accident. It passed all required California, DMV, safety, lamp, and smog inspections and has been back on the road trouble free for more than a year. It loaded with just about every option you can think of. It has active cruise control which maintains safe distance automatically with the car in front of you. It has rear collision detection that beeps when you get close to an object. It has auto HID headlights, auto wipers, ice cold a/c with dual climate zone, great sound system with CD changer, Sports handling package, Navigation, rear defrost, rear sunshade, heated rear seats, rear a/c/heater vents, front collision avoidance system with or without the cruise activated, power sunroof, premium wheels and tires leather, nice shifting automatic transmission, power steering, power 4 wheel disc brakes with abs, power windows, power locks, key less entry with alarm, power mirrors that fold in with alarm activation and the best feature of them all the HEATED FRONT SEATS AND STEERING WHEEL!! Car starts right up with a good strong battery and gets up and moves in a real hurry and does so very smoothly. Car can get high 20's mpg on the open road. Loads of style and class, great looking car, mean, fast and luxurious. The car has 120,000 miles on it and it has some dents and scratches here and there. The seats are showing some wear in the leather up front and lets be honest, it's not a 2014. This is a used Jaguar that is not 100% perfect in every inch of the car. The worst thing on the car is a minor noise in the front suspension. Both struts have been replaced. Car is in daily use, is very reliable, and believe to be a California car since new. No rust issues under the car that I am aware of. Car passed smog no problem and has current license and tags for California. Car is selling as is where is. There are no warranties implied expressed or given. Car must be paid for and picked up within 2 weeks of auction close. I can pickup the winning bidder at the Sac Intl Airport. If you want to have the car transported buyer to pay all transport fees but I can help out in any other way that I can. Thanks for looking and good luck on winning my very fun, fast and nice looking loaded XJR. I have owned the car for over a year. The car is located in Sacramento, California.

Stolen Jaguar E-Type reunited with owner after 46 years

Mon, 22 Sep 2014

Barely six months into owning it, Ivan Schneider had his Jaguar E-Type stolen from outside of his Manhattan apartment in 1968. Now, 46 years later, the somewhat beat-up convertible has been recovered just before it was about to be shipped to a new owner in The Netherlands.
US Customs agents at the Port of Los Angeles found the car during a routine check, and they contacted Schneider to arrange returning it to him. When the feds found it, the E-Type was already in a shipping container ready to go to its new owner. The condition is hardly perfect today, including rough paint and a replacement door, but Schneider is ecstatic to get his classic back.
Understandably, the now 82-year-old never thought he would see his droptop Jaguar again. Schneider told the LA Times that he bought the E-Type for $5,000 after winning a case as a lawyer, and it was originally painted gray. Now, he plans to have to have the vintage convertible restored to its former glory in New York.

Jaguar XK and F-Type meet for final sibling faceoff

Fri, 08 Aug 2014

There's nothing that real, dyed-in-the-wool car geeks love so much as to say "Old Car X is actually a lot better than New Car Y." For reasons that defy both logic and science, we all (your author included) are able to, almost simultaneously, bitch about needed advancements in current vehicles and then bemoan character lost in the next crop.
Mitsubishi Evo models have been supremely prone to this bifurcation of opinion in recent years (ask an Evo IX fanboy about the Evo X sometime... ), and performance cars wearing WRX, Mustang, and M3 badges have been deeply subject to it, as well.
The Jaguar XK and F-Type are not exactly in the same one-model, generational-changeover form as those mentioned above, but that doesn't mean that there aren't defenders of both the old dog and the new joint. Autocar seeks the truth of the matter in this new video, and we're just happy to come along for the ride. May the best sib win.

Porsche, Jaguar continue dominance in 2015 JD Power APEAL study

Wed, Jul 22 2015

The top of JD Power's 2015 APEAL Study has not changed much in the last year. Porsche remains No. 1 with Jaguar nipping at its heels, although both premium brands saw their overall score fall compared to 2014. For those that need a refresher, the APEAL Study looks at how "gratifying" a vehicle is to own and drive, rating cars and brands on a 1,000-point scale. The industry average for 2015 has increased from 794 to 798, while the total number of automakers that finished above the curve increased from 16 to 20. While Porsche and Jaguar finished at the top, their scores dropped eight and seven points, respectively, to 874 and 855. The top "non-premium" brand was Mini, which scored an impressive 825, up from 795. If the BMW-owned British marque is still a bit too premium for your tastes, last year's non-premium winner, Hyundai, did climb five points and is this year's runner up. At the opposite end of the scale, Smart sits at the very bottom of the rankings, with a score of 683 (it didn't appear on the 2014 rankings). Fiat also dropped, from fourth worst in 2014 to second worst in 2015, despite the 500 being named most appealing city car. Subaru made an impressive climb, from third worst to seventh, falling just 10 points shy of the industry average and two points south of the non-premium average. In the individual vehicle segments, eight brands earned multiple awards, with Ford, Chevrolet, and Porsche earning three apiece. Surprise segment victories included the new Ford Expedition, which beat out Chevy's popular Suburban. The Infiniti QX80 bested the likes of the Cadillac Escalade and Range Rover for best large luxury SUV, and the Dodge Challenger beat its muscle car rivals from Ford and Chevy. Most of the victories, though, were quite predictable. The Mazda6 and CX-5 took wins for the midsize sedan and compact SUV categories respectively, while the Volkswagen Golf captured the compact car win. The Ford F-150 won the large pickup category, while the Porsche Cayman was named most appealing compact premium sporty car.
