Gorgeous 1975 Jaguar XJ6C!
This Fabulous car is Very Rare only 2925 made in 1975. This car is in excellent condition. Full trim off respray in Base Coat Clear Coat paint. Car is very straight and rust free. Chrome is very nice. Tru Spoke Wire Wheels are in nice condition but not perfect. There is some surface rust on several of the spokes, two rims are missing the trim rings. Vinyl top is original and looks good but there is some bubbling. Windshield has a scratch from the wiper arm on the passenger side. Interior is in beautiful condition as well. Leather on the seats is still soft and supple. Carpets are excellent. Headliner is also like new. Dash and wood has no cracks. All options work as they should, one rear window switch is a little tempermental. Mileage is original. This car was not a basket case and fixed up. It was a very nice solid clean original car to begin with. Engine runs great and starts right up with a couple of pumps of the gas pedal. Transmission shifts fine. Entry-level Jaguar X-Type successor due in 2015, crossover a year later
Mon, 26 Nov 2012Jaguar's future product plans keep on slipping, slipping, slipping onto the internet, and the latest on it's entry-level luxury challenger is a 2015 due date. According to Automobile magazine, "most significant game-changer from Coventry" will be arriving on the same PLA platform that supports the Jaguar XJ and 2013 Range Rover. Kacher says the small sedan has already got the green light as codename X760, and will bow first as a four-door sedan, then as a crossover a year later.
This puts a date to a recent Autocar report that a small sedan and crossover were in the works. We've been getting reports of and concepts for a successor to the X-Type ever since Tata bought Jaguar - like the Bertone B99 concept last year, and this enthusiast concept more recently - since everyone knows it's what has to happen for "a new Jaguar" to succeed. We're looking forward to seeing what the English maker comes up with; if it remains true to form, it could be one of the few luxury competitors whose distinct model each look, well, truly distinct.
Chris Harris finds the Jaguar F-Type R Coupe rather drifty
Wed, 26 Mar 2014Our own Matt Davis may have called the new Jaguar F-Type R Coupe "one heady rascal," but our review was disappointingly short on drifting, tire smoke and general, English shenanigans. You know, the sort of things that Chris Harris from Drive excels at.
Actually, relative to Harris' other reviews, this one is rather serious. There's a good recap of the F-Type on the road, with Harris referencing the car's "great bottom" and "amazing ass," quite frequently. Surprisingly, Harris says the more powerful F-Type R is just "incrementally" faster than the 495-horsepower F-Type V8 S Convertible. Following the on-road portion, it's off to the track. You can probably predict what goes on there. Overall, aside from some quibbles, Harris has nothing but praise for the newest cat.

Jaguar's Callum refutes two XJ bodystyle rumor
Wed, 01 May 2013Not long ago, we relayed word from Edmunds that Jaguar was planning to split its next-generation XJ sedan into two bodystyles - one model that continued the ambitious design approach fostered with the current X351-based model, and another, more upright model to better appeal to China's conservative design sensibilities.
We expressed some cynicism in the idea, noting that such a strategy "might catch more profits for the marque, but it might also represent a setback to design head Ian Callum's vision for a thoroughly modern Jaguar portfolio." Callum has been quite insistent in his belief that Jag needs to be a forward-thinking brand in terms of design, and the two-model strategy seemed to conflict with that idea. We tried to get some comment from Callum at that time, but were unable to reach him.
As it turns out, our cynicism was well-placed. Autocar says that while the next XJ will continue to have two wheelbases, Callum has denied the two-model talk, saying flatly: "I can't see us doing two bodystyles. The cost would be enormous and the message inconsistent. You have to believe in what you produce and to do two bodystyles would undermine that."
