Jaguar Xj6 Base Sedan One Registred California Female Owner Low Mileage on 2040-cars
Fernandina Beach, Florida, United States
1987 JAGUAR XJ6 BASE SEDAN. I PURCHASED THIS CAR FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER, AN ELDERLY WOMEN, WHO RESIDED IN BEVERLY HILLS CALIFORNIA WHO PURCHASED THE CAR NEW FROM HER LOCAL JAGUAR DEALER.BACK IN 1986. I PURCHASED THE CAR IN 2013 ADDING IT TO MY ALREADY EXISTING CLASSIC JAGUAR COLLECTION. DUE TO ONGOING HEALTH ISSUES I HAVE NOW DECIDED TO SELL MY ENTIRE COLLECTION OF AUTOMOBILES INCLUDING THE ONE I HAVE LISTED HERE. THE CAR HAS BEEN INSPECTED AND SERVICED BY MY LOCAL CLASSIC JAG TECH HERE IN AMELIA ISLAND FLORIDA. THE CAR IS NOT PERFECT BUT IS BOTH MECHANICALLY SOUND, IN VERY GOOD OPERATING CONDITION AND HAVING A VERY SOLID BODY. THE TIRES ARE MICHELIN AND SHOW ABOUT 60% OF TREAD REMAINING. I WOULD SAY THIS CAR IS A 7.5 OUT OF 10 FOR AN ORIGINAL 1987 XJ6. I DO NOT LIKE SURPRISES WHEN I PURCHASE A CAR AND TRY TO BEST REPRESENT ANY CAR I MIGHT BE SELLING. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT ME. IF I CAN NOT ANSWER YOUR QUESTION MY MECHANIC, DAVE, WOULD BE HAPPY TO. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE AN OFFER IF YOU DO NOT INTEND TO PURCHASE THE CAR. AGAIN, CONTACT ME IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU MAKE AN OFFER. OR COMMIT TO PURCHASE. THANK YOU.

David Brown Automotive launches old-is-new-again Speedback [w/video]
Thu, 27 Mar 2014Back in January, we reported on a new British coachbuilder called David Brown Automotive. In February, the startup released the first details and images of its inaugural project, and now it has revealed the finished product.
It's called Speedback, and it's based on the Jaguar XKR. But while it's built on a modern chassis (relatively, anyway - the XK arrived in 2006 and is soon to be discontinued), it's been rebodied to look like a classic British GT. That means that, while it may look like a classic Aston Martin, it's got a thoroughly modern 5.0-liter supercharged V8 under the hood with over 500 horsepower on tap.
Otherwise, little in the way of details have been disclosed - including what you can bet will be an astronomic price that tends to come with these sorts of coachbuilt customs. But the important parts are what you can see, and that means the finest British craftsmanship inside and out. Whether you like the particular style or not, of course, is entirely a matter of taste.
Jaguar Land Rover creates new Special Operations division for halo vehicles, bespoke commissions
Fri, 13 Jun 2014Jaguar Land Rover has announced that a new division of the British manufacturer will be dedicated to "bespoke commissions," as well as heritage products and apparel. Oh, and the new Special Operations division will also be behind JLR's halo cars from now on.
It's that last one that is the most tantalizing, as the last real halo product to see production from Jaguar was the XJ220. The Range Rover, meanwhile, has always had its own kind of halo reputation, although the Land Rover brand itself has never really gotten into the game with a dedicated model.
According to JLR, the new halo models will focus on ultra-high performance and luxury with a limited run of vehicles. The bespoke models, meanwhile, will give the wealthiest customers full sway over how vehicles are outfitted, with unique paints, trims and other accessories. The new SpecOps division will be run by John Edwards.
Autocar compares new Maserati Quattroporte to Jaguar XJ
Mon, 07 Jan 2013Autocar's Steve Sutcliffe took the 2014 Maserati Quattroporte on a spin along snowy mountain roads to test it for a specific brief: as a limousine for the chauffeured class. It's sporting credentials are impressive: Twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V8, 532 horsepower, 475 pound-feet of torque in casual circumstances that rises to 532 lb-ft in overboost, a 0-to-60 mile-per-hour sprint of 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 191 mph.
However, citing Maserati's desire to not just increase its sales to 50,000-per-annum by 2015, but to sell many more of its cars in China, Sutcliffe wanted to find out if the livery side of the Quattroporte could match its sport sedan side. So after taking the pilot's seat and trying out the sport settings, Sutcliffe hops in back to test out the CEO's seat.
Then he compares the Quattroporte against the long-wheelbase Jaguar XJ with its supercharged V8, a sedan that's 15,000 pounds less expensive than the Maserati. It doesn't take long for him to find that one of them is a clear winner when it comes to transporting VIPs. To find out which one, enjoy the video below.
