1990 Jaguar Xj6 Sovereign Sedan 4-door 4.0l on 2040-cars
Concord, North Carolina, United States
This is a very nice mechanically and bodily sound all original no rust 24 year old Jaguar that still continues to amaze people on its condition. There is an acid rain blemish on the hood and the right rear door has a ding that has been painted. I am a Jaguar enthusiast and member of the JCNA and can be very anal about the condition of my Jaguars. Within the last two years this XJ6 has had all four brake rotors replaced with Centric Rotors and all disc pads replaced with EBC red stuff brake pads. All fluids have been drained and flushed including the differential and transmission, the problematic self leveling suspension has been replaced with standard springs and new Bogue shocks and mounts. Both front shock mounts have been renewed together with the two rear sub frame bushings. All five tires were renewed with Falken ZIEX ZE-912 in the plus zero size of 215/65R-15 in February 2013. The drivers side heater/air blower motor has been replaced, and the R12 refrigerant renewed, yes cold air-conditioning, distributor cap, rotor, plug leads and spark plugs are all upgraded and new. The high pressure hydraulic hose from the steering pump to the steering rack is new, the fuel pump and filter are new along with the EGR valve and oxygen sensor All systems are working mechanical and electrical, however, although I have replaced the oil pressure sensor twice( it reads 40 psi ) the instrument gauge is still not working correctly, but all is well. The in-line DOHC 6 cylinder Jaguar engine is the best and virtually indestructible, treated to premium gas and 20w-50 Castrol oil and filter changes every 3000 miles it should last up to 300,000 miles before a real inspection is required. This engine loves to be driven and will cruise all day long at 75mph and return about 23/24 miles per gallon, I am only selling because I have my eye on a 1994 XJ40 V12. I will throw in a set of 4 Dayton wire wheels that are good but need some refinishing. This vehicle is sold as is where is with no warranty expressed or implied buyer must arrange pick up |

Jaguar C-X17 resurfaces in China with gold finish, five-seat cabin [w/video]
Sun, 24 Nov 2013Some concept cars make the rounds of the auto shows and are then retired. But a number of automakers are showing that a fresh coat of paint can go a long way towards rejuvenating a show car and giving it a new lease on life - at least as far as the auto show circuit is concerned. Lexus did that recently with the LF-LC concept, initially unveiling it in red at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show, then repainting it a dark shade of blue for the subsequent shows in Australia and LA. Mini did the same with the Rocketman concept. And now Jaguar has done it again with its C-X17.
Initially unveiled in electric blue at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Jaguar then rolled the crossover out again in liquid silver for the Dubai Motor Show earlier this month. Now the concept is back again at the Guangzhou Motor Show in China with a fresh coat of rose gold.
Looking decidedly more luxurious than the previous iterations, this gilded C-X17 concept also bears another change: while the previous versions featured a four-seat cabin, this one has been redone with a more conventional five-seat configuration that more buyers would likely go for. It's also got a new interactive infotainment system and another system that warns passengers of pedestrians or cyclists approaching from the rear before they open the door. Check it out in the high-res image gallery above and the video clip below for a closer look.
U.S. issues new tariff threat, this time against British-built cars
Mon, Jan 27 2020WASHINGTON — Britain is the United States' closest ally but their long friendship may be sorely tested as the two countries try to forge a new trade agreement after Britain's exit from the European Union. U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said on Saturday in London that he was optimistic that a bilateral deal with Britain could be reached as soon as this year. But Mnuchin gave up no ground after a second meeting with his UK counterpart, Sajid Javid. Javid has insisted that Britain will proceed with a unilateral digital services tax, despite a U.S. threat to levy retaliatory tariffs on British-made autos. Mnuchin told reporters after Saturday's meeting that such taxes would discriminate against big U.S. tech companies like Alphabet Inc's Google, Apple, Facebook and Amazon. The UK Treasury declined to comment on the private meeting. The divide highlights the challenges ahead as the Trump administration seeks a new bilateral agreement with Britain, part of a broader push to rebalance relations with nearly all its major trading partners. The stakes are high — British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has pegged the trade deal with United States as a way to ease the pain of breaking with Europe, Britain's largest trade partner. U.S. President Donald Trump, has promised a "massive" trade deal to support Brexit, the product of a populist movement similar to his "America First" agenda. The goodwill and special relationship the two countries have enjoyed for decades may not count for much, experts say. "Trump is not going to be doing Johnson any favors," said Amanda Sloat, a senior fellow with the Brookings Institution in Washington. "He's not going to give him a trade deal without major concessions." Even before the digital tax issue arose, the Trump administration threatened to tax foreign car imports, which could hit British-made Jaguar, Land Rover, Mini, and Honda Civic hatchback cars. Stiff U.S. trade demands include increased access for U.S. farm goods, concessions that will be difficult for Britain's entrenched natural food culture to swallow. The United States also wants Britain to change the way its National Health Service prices drugs and allow in more U.S. pharmaceuticals, which could prove politically unpopular for Johnson's government. Washington's demand that London block Chinese telecoms equipment maker Huawei Technologies Co Ltd for national security reasons could also cloud talks.
