I am offering for sale My 1985 Series III Jaguar XJ6

If you are looking at this ad, then I am sure you are quite familiar with this car and know that 1985 was one of the best years for these Series III jag.  I took this into consideration when I purchased her a little over 3 yrs ago.  She was well maintained by the previous owner and myself.  I have service records that will go along with the car as well as all manuals and many extra parts that I have collected over the years.

This car comes with a CLEAN New Jersey title.  As per the Autocheck, it has always had a clean title in New Jersey, and previously Ohio.  Initially when the car was registered in Indiana, it was incorrectly entered as a reconstructed title, it was never in an accident, the mistake was corrected and it was issued a CLEAN Indiana title, however it never came off the autocheck.   I have a copy of the autocheck that I can forward to any prospective buyer.  Due to ebay policy, I have to list it as rebuilt, car has a CLEAN title and you will have no trouble registering or insuring it in your state, as me and the previous owner never had a problem.  Now that we have cleared that up, I can tell you more about my beautiful Series III Jag.  You can also call me personally @ 973 280 5699 to discuss and with any concerns that you may have.

This isn't a low mileage example that has been sitting in a garage its whole life, un-used and with alot of expensive maintenance creeping up.  My car is a driver, all required maintenance has been done, it is a daily driver that can take long trips, doesn't make funny noises, no leaks and no suprises here, mechanically very sound and strong.

Cosmetically, she is a beauty!  I get compliments everywhere I go, you just do not see them as clean as this one, and you just don't see them on the road any more.  I love driving her on the weekends and I love the attention I get, so will you!

She has the original paint, I have taken pictures to point out the flays that exist.  2 spots of rust that are starting to bubble, 2 dimples on the driver side fender and a paint chip on the passenger side.  None of these take away from her beauty and is by far still one of the best examples (i believe) here in the north east.

As far as the interior goes, everything is there, everything is original.  The seats have held up pretty well and are still soft and supple unlike the hard dried up ones that do not get the garage life they deserve.  The seats aren't perfect, they have age lines that show, again nothing structural.  The wood is very nice, nicest I have seen around these parts, again from being garaged its entire life.  This leads me to the reason I am selling.  I have lost my garage and instead of having her sit outside, I have decided that it is time to move on and let her go to a good home.

The radio unit went out on me soon after I purchased her, I had it professionally removed and attempted to have it rebuilt by a professional who did not live up to expectation and damaged it.  I was a little disappointed, didn't want to put a newer radio in there and damage the console, so I left it alone, the new owner can hunt down a OEM radio online and fit it in, I actually got used to driving it without the radio.

All window motors work, including the roof.  However, the contacts on the moon roof switch needs to be cleaned a bit as sometimes you have to play with it a bit (press it more than once, very common).  Gas tank switch works as it should, tanks do not leak however sometimes the gauge for the left side tank will read full when it is actually not (not a major prob as it is intermittent).  I try to keep both tanks full anyhow.  Right side gauge reads correct.

People, this is not a showroom piece, it is a very attractive example and my price reflects that.  I am not selling for $10k-$12k like the low mileage mint ones.  I am sellling for less than $5k and willing to take offers from serious buyers.

If you are local and would like to see her in person or have a test-drive, I can be reached @ 973 280 5699.  I am available to answer any questions you may have.  If the winning buyer would like to fly in and drive her home, the nearest airport is Newark Liberty Int'l (EWR).  If you would like to have her shipped I will happily work with the shippers to coordinate pick-up.

Thank you for looking and good luck with your Offers !

2014 Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake

Tue, 17 Jun 2014

We'd consider giving up vital organs for the opportunity to drive any number of vehicles on the Nürburgring: supercars, racecars, track cars, even hot hatches... but a station wagon? That might not seem like a top choice at first blush, but this is no ordinary wagon. This is the Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake.
Now if that name leaves you scratching your head, there are several good reasons for that - not least of which is the unfortunate reality that, unlike so many performance-oriented crossovers and sport-utes, the Sportbrake is not offered in North America. But suppose it were, or that weren't a factor. You'd likely still be left wondering how the name Jaguar ended up on a station wagon in the first place, and how that machine wound up bearing the letters R-S, the suffix affixed only to Coventry's most hardcore performance models.
Our brief story goes back a little over two years to when Jaguar revealed the XF Sportbrake at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, giving its mid-level sedan an elongated roof and added cargo capacity. The Sportbrake may not be the first wagon to wear the Leaping Cat badge, but following the lamentable X-Type Sportwagon, it could be argued that the XF is the first authentic Jag estate.

Jaguar shows off production XE body in camo

Sun, 18 May 2014

Jaguar turned to Twitter and Facebook to reveal the production form of its coming XE sedan that we'll see for real at the Paris Motor Show. This is the first of a series of show-offs, Jaguar planning to wrap the bodywork in see-through camo that shows off the aluminum monocoque and other internals the company will use to promote the XE over its German rivals. That aluminum structure, which Jaguar calls iQ[Al], will also be used for other Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles.
Underneath that long bonnet and ahead of that terribly short trunk will come a series of Ingenium engines, the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engines in diesel and petrol forms that will come in a variety of power options, and the 3.0-liter supercharged V6 that can also be found in the F-Type. Before the XE goes on sale early next year, you can click the image above to get a slightly larger view of what the The Leaping Cat's near future looks like.

Jaguar Project 7 concept is an F-Type in a D-Type mold [w/video]

Wed, 10 Jul 2013

In addition to the XJR, XFR-S and XKR-S GT models Jaguar is bringing to the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend, the manufacturer announced that the F-Type-based, D-Type-inspired Project 7 design study will make its "dynamic" debut at the festival, with driving duties assigned to Mike Cross, Jaguar's chief engineer of vehicle integrity. Here's the cool part: With Jaguar's Director of Design, Ian Callum, leading the team responsible for Project 7, it went from the drawing board to track testing in only four months, Jaguar states, with a claimed 0-60 time of 4.1 seconds and top speed of 186 miles per hour.
Project 7, which was named in honor of Jaguar's seven wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, will be making runs up the hill at Goodwood over all three days of the festival, which starts at the Goodwood House in West Sussex, England, this Friday.
Far from a fragile concept car, Jaguar says, the single-seat Project 7 is a fully functional sports car. It uses the all-aluminum chassis and body of the F-Type, retains that car's 550-horsepower, supercharged 5.0-liter V8 and eight-speed automatic transmission but features lots of bespoke carbon fiber aerodynamic bits, some of which were inspired by the Le Mans-winning D-Type of the 1950s. The most obvious nod to that classic is the rear fairing with integrated rollover hoop - the F-Type's convertible top is gone. The windshield was also lowered, giving the roadster a more rakish silhouette as it sits on 20-inch forged-alloy wheels with carbon fiber inserts.
