Selling My 1985 Jaguar Series 3 XJ6 with 141,153 miles. It has twin-OHC 6 cylinder engine, electronic fuel injection, electronic ignition system, automatic transmission, power sun roof and windows, power outside mirrors power drivers seat. I had the car for About three years and maybe 1200 miles and it was a very strong good vehicle. Early 2010 The alternator went up, since its my weekend spare car, its been on my to do list since then! I Have Charged battery and started vehicle aprrox. 6- 8 times a year, and each time It fires up, sounds good. I took it for quick ride recently and everything seemed well, the brakes worked but felt looser than i remember. I am no mechanic But here is what i am aware of: Needs new alternator, Drivers side gas tank was disconnected at button because tank needed repair. It may have some old bad gas still in old tank. (passenger side tank works). The trunk smells musty or bad gas smell. I try to move or test everything each time when i start the vehicle. I noticed the Driver side window moves a little slower each time and the handles start to stick. The interior is in good condition, It has black newer cover installed in back seat and front seats have some small tears and lot of wear (as seen in the pictures). There's little rust at wheel wells, the passenger front looks good, drivers back has the bad spot (approx. 6") (as seen in the picture). Otherwise, the body is solid and in good condition. The car tires are in fair shape, drivers back has very slow leak. Overall the car is in good shape, but needs some minor mechanical work and TLC. The XJ6 is being sold as-is, where-is. There will be no refunds, so please feel free to write if you would like additional pictures or have any questions. It is also being sold locally. If you would like this shipped please contact me before hand so we can make arrangements. Buyer assumes all shipping costs.

Jaguar Project 7 Concept
Mon, 26 Aug 2013The Jaguar Project 7 Concept debuted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed just last month. But unlike most concepts, which serve only to collect fingerprints on a stage, the track-ready one-seater spent its days barreling past the hillclimb crowds with Mike Cross, chief engineer of vehicle integrity at Jaguar, beaming behind its right-hand-drive steering wheel. What's more, the powers that be at Jaguar even let yours truly drive the Project 7 during the Concurs d'Elegance festivities at Pebble Beach last week.
Built on an all-aluminum V8 F-Type chassis with modified suspension, the Project 7 (a name acknowledging Jaguar's seven Le Mans wins between 1951-1990) is best thought of as an F-Type masquerading as a D-Type. The two-door is fitted with a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 good for 550 horsepower (no pictures as Jaguar wouldn't allow us to open the hood). An eight-speed automatic, with a torque converter, sends the power the rear wheels, allowing the single-seat roadster to crack the 60-mph benchmark in just over four seconds.
Modifications to the bodywork include a new lowered windshield, carbon-fiber aerodynamics and a rear fairing with integrated rollover hoop. The driving position has also been lowered by more than an inch, allowing the sole occupant to not only escape the airflow, but take advantage of a lower center of gravity.
Jaguar Land Rover offers (some) detail about new Ingenium engine
Thu, 10 Jul 2014Jaguar Land Rover officially announced its Ingenium family of engines with the unveiling of the 2.0-liter version in the Jaguar XE concept at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, but it kept details very thin at the time. All we knew was that the new turbocharged mills could be configured to use gasoline or diesel, and be positioned longitudinally or transversely. Months later, JLR is finally letting some more info slip about its new baby, but there are still some big questions to be answered.
For the Ingenium project, Jaguar Land Rover gave its engineers a clean sheet of paper and told them not to worry about using any previous parts or machinery. In the end, the designers came up with a family of turbocharged, aluminum-block engines based around modular, 500cc cylinders to allow it to grow or shrink as the market demanded. The layout was also made adaptable enough to incorporate hybrid drivetrains, if needed. "Being configurable and flexible are the two key strands of Ingenium's DNA because we have future-proofed our new engines from the outset," said said Ron Lee, the company's director of Powertrain Engineering.
To maximize efficiency, Jaguar promises that all versions of the Ingenium engines come with computer-controlled, variable oil pumps and water pumps to use only as much energy as needed. They also get direct injection, roller bearings for the cams and stop/start. The diesel version alone has 17 percent less internal friction than the mill it replaces, the company claims. JLR is also promising class-leading figures for Ingenium's torque and horsepower too, but it's not giving away those specs just yet.
Which is hotter, Lana Del Rey or the Jaguar F-Type?
Fri, 15 Feb 2013Lana Del Rey's "Burning Desire" video, the first musical collaboration between Jaguar and its hired songstress, is half music video, half long-form lifestyle commercial for the 2014 F-Type. If you like Del Rey channeling glamorous fifties fame as she lays down vocals of sensuous, languid dolor over images of black-and-white yesteryears, you'll like this song off of her new EP, Paradise.
We think the appearance of a red and brand-new Jaguar, though, is incongruous - either Del Rey or Jaguar is the anachronism, take your pic. That's not to say it's not beautiful, however, so enjoy the combination in the video below.
