Flawless, one of a kind Jaguar conversion.  The Jag is running a custom built LT4 Chevy 5.7 liter engine with a 6 speed manual T56 transmission.  This high performance combination makes the car extremely rare in the world of Jaguar Chevy conversions.  The car is also desirable because it is a 1986 XJ6 body with a 1973 XJ12 chassis and VIN number.  The 1973 VIN number makes the car smog legal in California.  Buyer should verify smog restriction in their state.  I have spent the last 12 year customizing and perfecting the car's setup.  The work and the car have been a labor of love for me.  This is a unique opportunity to purchase a completely sorted and rare Jag Chevy conversion with tens of thousands dollars invested and countless man hours.  I’m 75 years old and I have honestly lost interest.  My hope is the car will go to a deserving gear head.  The car is pristine condition no dings, no rust, and always garaged.  Please no dealer inquiries.

Engine:  The original engine was a LT1.  It was putting out 164 horses to the rear tires when dynoed.  I wasn't really happy with the power.  So I pulled the engine and upgraded it to an LT4 aluminum heads, intake manifold and installed Chevy Hot Cam.  After the upgrade the car dynoed at 281HP to the rear tires.  T56 six speed transmission up the Dyno to the rear wheels to 289HP.  The cars top speed is roughly 150mph.  See Dyno PDF

Transmission: The car has a professionally installed 6 speed T56 manual transmission.  I did all of the interior modifications necessary to accommodate the clutch peddle and the gear shift.  I wanted to insure the integrity of the original Jaguar interior.  The transmission can handle 450 FTLB. of torque.  The tires can be smoke in 1st and 2nd gear.  Maybe 3rd I have not tired.

Exhaust: The Exhaust was designed and installed by Ed Hanson.  The go to man in San Diego for Hot Rod exhaust systems.  The exhaust growl is that unique V8 growl.  My ex wife thought the car was too loud.  I think it is perfect.  Anyone that knows cars can tell what it is when they hear it.  Click the link to hear and see video of car:  http://youtu.be/TGYWzsR8jDg

Body:  Custom paint was done five years ago. The cost was roughly $5000.  There are not dings, dents or scratches.  The car was always garaged and rarely driven.

Please Feel to ask any question.  I am a happy to answer any questions and talk cars by phone.  The car can be test driven by appointment at my house.  Buyer is responsible for any delivery transportation.  The car will remain for sale until a 25% deposit in the form of cashiers check is delivered to me.

Lister Knobbly returning to limited production for 60th anniversary

Sat, Feb 1 2014

Lister Cars was one of the pedigree names of British racing from its founding in 1954 and then on and off until the early 2000s. The company combined its own lightweight chassis with engines from other manufacturers, many of them British (and especially from Jaguar). Last year, the name and the intellectual property were sold to a new company that planned to revive the brand. For Lister's 60th anniversary, it is building a new version of one of its most famous racecars, the 1958 Lister-Jaguar Knobbly. The 2014 Listers are built to the exact specifications of the original cars, and the aluminum bodies are hand-formed on the original jigs. It is offered in racing trim starting at 249,000 pounds ($409,618) and is certified for FIA historic racing. There's also a road-legal version starting at 259,000 pounds ($426,060), if you don't intend to race but do intend to drive. There are two engines available, just like in the original car. A reproduction Jaguar D-Type 3.8-liter inline-six with dry-sump lubrication pumps out 330 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque with a four-speed Jaguar gearbox. The other option is a 4.6-liter Chevy V8 with 315 hp and 290 lb-ft with a four-speed manual transmission. The Chevy-engined version also gets a slightly altered body with a higher hood to clear the engine. The first 2014 Listers will be delivered in the UK this April. Unlike many of these boutique sportscars, the racing version will be available to US buyers, but Lister won't federalize the road version due to the high cost. Scroll down to get all of the details about the revived racer. LISTER MOTOR COMPANY LAUNCHES NEW 60th ANNIVERSARY BROCHURE AS THE ORDER BOOKS BEGIN TO FILL New 60th Anniversary Lister Jaguar brochure now available 50 per cent of 2014 production already sold First cars to be delivered in April, 2014 Road-going variant to be offered at GBP259,000 + tax Race-going version to be GBP249,000 + tax. Following the recently announced purchase of the Lister Motor Company in May 2013, the company is delighted to announce that it has now published its 60thAnniversary Lister Jaguar brochure, which fully outlines the specifications for its fantastic recreation of the iconic Lister Jaguar 'Knobbly' racing car.

Jaguar XE teased in new video, will debut September 8

Fri, 05 Sep 2014

Outside of a major auto show, this might be one of the best times of the year for new car debuts, and we couldn't be more excited. Just this week, the low-slung face of the next-generation Mazda MX-5 Miata showed itself to the world, and Land Rover debuted its new Discovery Sport. Plus, there's a double-whammy of launches on the imminent horizon with the unveilings of the Jaguar XE on September 8 and the Mercedes-AMG GT on September 9.
Jag is teasing the launch of its latest midsize luxury sedan with a few glimpses on video. It's strangely secretive, given the fact that Jaguar showed the XE's face completely un-camouflaged a few weeks ago. Regardless, it's quite a looker up front with a sleeker take on the shape of the larger XF.
Because of the way Jaguar is slowly leaking details about the XE, there are a few other things we already know about this new cat, too. It rides on a monocoque chassis made from over 75 percent aluminum, and the automaker is promising 75 miles per gallon fuel economy on the more lenient European cycle for at least one engine in the lineup.

Weekly Recap: Things you might not know about the 2015 Dodge Charger and Challenger Hellcats

Sat, 16 Aug 2014

If you're an enthusiast, and you don't know that Dodge spawned another Hellcat this week, you really must have been living in cave. The 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat is probably the biggest news for enthusiasts since the reveal of, well the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.
But, there are some things you might not know or might have missed about the new Charger and Challenger Hellcats. For starters, reports that the Hellcat production would be limited to a low volume are not true.
"We have not capped the Hellcat on either the Challenger or the Charger," Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis said.
