500hp And Immaculate! 2010 Jaguar Xfr White on 2040-cars
Hahira, Georgia, United States
One of the fastest
luxury sedans you can buy…on par with the BMW M5 for thousands less. Put your foot down and this thing FLIES!
Awesome to drive, but very comfortable on long trips as it eats up the
miles. The supple suspension and adaptive cruise control make long distance
a breeze, and the B&W 1000 watt stereo system is sublime…play your favorite
CD, an iPod, or Sirius satellite radio. This vehicle looks
awesome in white, the perfect combination of sporty and luxury. Chrome accents, hood vents, and quad exhausts
set the XFR apart from the standard XF. Interior
and exterior were cleaned/polished/waxed with Griot's Garage professional car
care products. Rare saddle brown and black interior; the dealer tried three
times to buy it back from us because so many people were asking for this
color! (He even offered to trade for a year newer) No accidents or damage. A few chips on
the front from road debris; very small and barely noticeable. This vehicle was babied!
Single owner! 100% operational.
Scheduled maintenance performed at Jaguar dealer. Never had any
unscheduled problems or maintenance. We are selling the car
due to an upcoming move and are sad to see it go. |

Jay Leno's Garage drives Steve McQueen's 1956 Jaguar XKSS
Tue, 27 May 2014Steve McQueen might be the coolest American male of the 20th century. With movies like Bullitt and Le Mans, McQueen established himself as the king of cool of his era, and on the list of actors you would pick for a fantasy racing team - he or Paul Newman are the natural first choices. The latest Jay Leno's Garage video highlights one of McQueen's most special cars - a 1956 Jaguar XKSS.
Just 16 XKSS models were made because a fire at the Jaguar factory halted production. It was meant to be a street version of the company's very successful D-Type racer, with a modified version of its 3.4-liter straight-six-engine and a four-speed manual gearbox. McQueen clearly had an eye for great vehicles. He drove his Jag around Los Angeles years after it was a cutting-edge piece of technology. Since then, it became part of the Petersen Automotive Museum in LA. Autoblog's The List even took a ride in it when the show visited the museum.
The XKSS is one of the pinnacles of automotive design of the '50s, and its association with McQueen makes this example even more extraordinary. Leno is in love with the car from the moment he sees it, and it's hard to argue with him. Between its emphasized curves and raspy exhaust, this is one sexy Jag. Scroll down to get an eyeful and earful from one of McQueen's favorite cars.
Jaguar CEO says people just don't want EVs right now
Mon, Jun 22 2015"Customers are not impressed with it currently." These are the words of one Ralf Speth, CEO of Jaguar Land Rover, spoke at the Automotive News Europe Congress in Birmingham, England. The "it" Speth is referring to is battery technology, which he characterized as "too heavy, too expensive," and with power density that's "too low." That all could go some way towards explaining why the British automaker has yet to bring an electric vehicle to market, why it killed the C-X75 hybrid-turbine supercar project, and why it only recently started offering hybrid versions of its Range Rover models (and has yet to offer them in the United States). That doesn't mean the company won't pursue electric propulsion in the future, though. According to Automotive News Europe, Speth forecasts that "the next generation of batteries will be higher density, lower weight and the cost will come down." What he didn't say, exactly, is when he expects that next generation of battery tech to come around – or when JLR will start to more closely embrace electric propulsion. In the meantime, Jaguar Land Rover will continue investing in research and development. Since Tata acquired the brands from Ford seven years ago, JLR has quadrupled its R&D budget and doubled the number of engineers on staff. Related Video:
Jaguar design boss Callum reinterprets classic Mark 2 for himself [w/video]
Fri, 29 Aug 2014As the man behind the styling of basically every Jaguar since the mid 2000s, two things should be known about Ian Callum - he's a big fan of the brand, and he can bloody well get whatever kind of Jag he wants.
His newest car, though, is not what you might expect. Rather than an F-Type or an XJ, Callum has gone old school, and commissioned a custom, resto-modded Jaguar Mark 2.
Designed by Callum and built by Classic Motor Cars in Shropshire, England, the Mark 2 was an 18-month project between the designer and the garage. The essentially new car draws its power from a 4.3-liter engine that's been pilfered and modified from an XK. It's mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
