Newest Spectre trailer shows DB10, car chases, awesomeness

It's not due in theaters until November and it's not like we've detected any weaknesses yet, but here we are with another trailer for the upcoming James Bond film, Spectre. That is not a complaint, because it looks like it's going to be, as one YouTuber said, "Spectretacular!" We digress. This time we get a little more of the Aston Martin DB10, including the top line for the spec sheet: Q says it will do 0-60 miles per hour in 3.2 seconds. Putting on the hat that lets us sincerely debate totally fictitious facts in a totally fictitious universe, we don't think that's fast enough to stay away from the villain's Jaguar C-X75, but it's not like Bond needs to when he's got flamethrowers. So there. You 'll find the latest bout of awesome in the clip above, and look for all the throwback cues. Christoph Waltz dresses like one Ernst Stavro Blofeld and uses the same interior decorator. Jaguar XE bares its claws in 74 images [w/video]

The XE may prove to be the most vital new model to Jaguar's expansion. But to date we've only really seen it in top-spec, supercharged XE S form. That ends right here and now, however, as Jaguar releases details, photos and even a brief video clip showing the entire range - including those most customers are bound to buy.
Globally speaking - or at least in its home market - Jaguar will offer the XE with five different engines and in four different trim levels. The new Ingenium engine family includes two diesels and two turbocharged gasoline options along with the top-of-the-line supercharged V6 that will serve as the XE's performance flagship model, at least until a new SVR version comes along. Both six-speed manual and eight-speed automatic transmissions are on offer, and overseas buyers will also be able to choose between base SE, mid-range Prestige, opulent Portfolio, dynamic R-Sport and range-topping S trim levels.
Of course not every engine is available in each trim level and with either transmission, so instead of 40 combinations we're looking at 22. Once the XE reaches American showrooms, we'll likely be looking at even fewer, as we're not expecting the manual and diesel versions to be offered Stateside. Jaguar Land Rover won't get a bailout from the UK

Bailout talks between Jaguar Land Rover and Tata Steel with the UK government have ended, leaving both firms to rely on private financing to overcome the impact of coronavirus on business, the Financial Times reported on Friday. The report said that talks for an emergency funding fell through as Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) did not qualify for taxpayer support. It is the luxury car unit of India's Tata Motors and Tata Steel, both owned by Indian conglomerate Tata Group. The bailout plan, titled "Project Birch", had been authorized by Finance Minister Rishi Sunak in May to rescue companies that are seen as strategically important, with the Treasury saying it may step in to support crucial businesses on a "last resort" basis after other options run out. The report, citing a source familiar with the matter, said that the funding scheme became infeasible for Tata as it imposed strict conditions on any lending. "Tata Steel remains in ongoing and constructive talks with the UK Government on areas of potential support," Tata Steel said in an emailed statement.
