2003 Jaguar X-type Awd--rare 5-speed--only 75k Miles--absolute No Reserve on 2040-cars

Listed for sale, is this 2003 Jaguar X-Type AWD with 75k original miles. Up until 5 days ago, the car ran and drove great. Now it will not start, and the mechanics can't figure out why. We initially thought it was the fuel pump, but that doesn't seem to be the problem. We also checked the battery cables and fuses, and those seem to be fine. One mechanic said it could be the engine, but the car is turn over (just not cranking), which is usually not a sign of a bad engine. Plus, it only has 75K miles on it, which is low for an engine to go bad. Nonetheless, we did price an engine for $500, but the owner didn't want to go that route.
The interior is in good condition with minimal wear and tear. There are some minor rips in the leather, but the leather, carpet, and dash areas are clean. The exterior is also in good condition. There is slight damage on the right fender and bumper area, but doesn't take away from the car's stunning appearance, and the paint looks really good. Again, this is a NO RESERVE auction; so the highest bid wins. This repair could be something minor, or it could be an expensive one. Either way, this is a very good deal. This car sells for $5500 to $6000. So it's worth the repair. Your also welcome to view the vehicle before the listing ends. Jaguar F-Type Project 7 takes the D-Type to the 21st Century
Sat, 16 Aug 2014One of the many big name debuts during the 2014 Monterey car week is this, the Jaguar F-Type Project 7, a stunning roadster inspired by Jaguar's legendary, finned D-Type sports car.
The Project 7 expands on the already appealing F-Type Convertible formula, further boosting the Jaguar Land Rover 5.0-liter, supercharged V8 to its most potent form yet - 575 horsepower - making this the most powerful production Jag in history. So equipped, the Project 7 is more cheetah than jaguar, roaring to 60 miles per hour in a rapid 3.8 seconds before reaching its electronically limited peak speed of 186 miles per hour.
Prices for the F-Type Project 7 start at $165,000, with customer deliveries slated begin in spring of 2015.
Jaguar's Callum refutes two XJ bodystyle rumor
Wed, 01 May 2013Not long ago, we relayed word from Edmunds that Jaguar was planning to split its next-generation XJ sedan into two bodystyles - one model that continued the ambitious design approach fostered with the current X351-based model, and another, more upright model to better appeal to China's conservative design sensibilities.
We expressed some cynicism in the idea, noting that such a strategy "might catch more profits for the marque, but it might also represent a setback to design head Ian Callum's vision for a thoroughly modern Jaguar portfolio." Callum has been quite insistent in his belief that Jag needs to be a forward-thinking brand in terms of design, and the two-model strategy seemed to conflict with that idea. We tried to get some comment from Callum at that time, but were unable to reach him.
As it turns out, our cynicism was well-placed. Autocar says that while the next XJ will continue to have two wheelbases, Callum has denied the two-model talk, saying flatly: "I can't see us doing two bodystyles. The cost would be enormous and the message inconsistent. You have to believe in what you produce and to do two bodystyles would undermine that."
2014 Jaguar XKR-S GT claws at the driving enthusiast in us
Wed, 27 Mar 2013If you still find yourself coming up a few seconds short per lap in your Jaguar XKR-S, the British automaker has introduced the XKR-S GT - a cat specifically tuned for the racing circuit - at the New York Auto Show.
While Jaguar has left the supercharged 5.0-liter V8 unchanged (550 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque), it has tuned and tweaked all the items that really make cars go quicker on the track (e.g. suspension, aerodynamics, contact patches, brakes). A once-over reveals upgraded go-fast goodies including a new ventilated hood, extended wheel arch spats, reworked front end with a bespoke front splitter and canards, a massive rear wing, height-adjustable adaptive dampers, active exhaust, carbon-ceramic brakes and sticky Pirelli Corsa tires. Try as we might, the driver in us can't find anything we not to like about this enthusiast-tuned coupe.
Of course all of the upgraded XK goodness doesn't come easy, or cheap. Jaguar will limit North American sales to just 30 units and price each at $174,000. Learn all the juicy details in the official press release below.
