For Sale is my 1972 Jaguar XKE, I bought this car at an auction in 2000. It's time to sell it. The car had a restoration prior to my buying it, unfortunately the seats were recovered in vinyl, not leather as would have been proper. Otherwise the seats are in very good condition, as is the interior with the exception of some cosmetic flaws to be expected in a 41 year old car and an older restoration. The AC is cooling a little and I have never had the system charged, but I am including 2 cans of R12 with the car. The steering wheel has some black tape on it, but I am including another proper steering wheel with the car in very good condition. The paint has numerous small flaws but you can see from the picture the car still shines and shows well. The body is very straight with one little nickle sized dimple on the hood that I tried to photograph but gave up what with the silver paint couldn't really capture it. There is an area on the drivers side rear rocker that appears to be a bad repair or repair gone bad that came with the car and hasn't got any worse. All in all the car has a very straight body. The floorboards are rust free as is the trunk bottom. The underside of the car shows some surface rust on some of the components. As you can see from the pictures the steering rack boots need to be replaced.

Now for the fun stuff. All the glass is very good as is the rubber around it. This is a beautiful color for this car, it has factory AC, and the desirable 4 speed. I have not really driven this car much but the motor and transmission are strong. The car runs out very well. I had a problem with the plugs fouling, cleaned them and the motor runs out very strong right now. I bought 12 new NGK plugs which I have not put in and they will go with the car unless I have any more fouling problems. The carbs probably need some attention. As do the brakes only because I have never serviced them and the brake light is on. They work fine and if all the brake fluid were renewed I think the brake light would go out. The cooling system does not leak but I am sure could use flushing. This is why I am selling the car, I have not been able to keep up with the maintenance and love the car needs. Last time I showed the car at a local British Car Club it placed 3rd out of 8 E types, all of which were worth more money than mine.

So if you want a very nice driver that the average Joe thinks is a very expensive car this would be an excellent car, or if you want a Concours car but can't afford one, this car would be an excellent starting point. They say if you want to restore a car buy the best one you can find. I want to make sure this car sells so that I only do this once so the reserve on the car will be well below what Haggerty values the car. The only other thing I can think of is the fuel pump was changed by a local shop when I took the car in a year ago with starting issues, and I ended up taking out the fuel pump they put in and put a carter inline fuel pump in myself, but I still have the original double ended pump that is original to the car. Not sure there is any thing wrong with it. Also the dip switch on the headlights has gone bad and needs renewed. I tried turning on the radio the other day and the electric antennae worked but the factory AM FM radio wasn't working. Also the odometer reads 76,000 but the speedometer has not worked since I have owned the car. Also the drivers side door handle button is not wanting to work but I will try to repair before the car is delivered.

The chrome wire wheels are the original knockoff wheels that came with the car. They polish up very nicely but there is some minor rust damage that is very hard to see when the wheels are polished.

Jaguar's F-Sleigh replaces reindeer with jet power

'Tis the season for automakers to demonstrate how they would design Santa's famous (if fictitious) sleigh. The F-Sleigh concept is based on the F-Type convertible, but this one has skids instead of wheels, a pair of jet engines in place of the supercharged V8, the requisite red nose (embossed with the Growler emblem), and of course plenty of room for gifts. This is the second time we've seen a modern Jaguar design incorporating small turbines, and takes the idea of a 550-horse open sleigh to new heights. Jaguar rendered the design in an ice sculpture and is displaying it this holiday season at the London Edition hotel in the British capital. Joining the F-Sleigh on display are some of the more tempting items from the latest Jaguar and Land Rover merchandise collections, including a 1:8 scale model of a 1957 XKSS and a Defender pedal car. But it's the centerpiece that caught our attention, looking at least as cool as some of the designs we've seen from the likes of Ford, Honda, Lexus, Bentley, or even Jaguar Land Rover's previous concepts. Now if you'll excuse us, we have to rush down to the fireplace to replace the milk and cookies with a tanker full of jet fuel. Jaguar F-Type Coupe proves sexy can't be disguised

Jaguar's new F-Type is a pretty potent little pouncer. And while we do love a good roadster, many of us at Autoblog are perhaps more excited about the upcoming hardtop version of Jag's stylish new entry-level sports car. Why? Because even here in heavily camouflaged prototype form, the thing looks really, really good - the sleek roofline blending rather nicely into the F-Type's shapely rump, allowing for better distinction of its pronounced hips over the rear wheel wells.
Mechanically speaking, the F-Type Coupe should be identical to its droptop sibling. That means the supercharged 3.0-liter V6 and 5.0-liter V8 engine lineup should carry over unchanged, though we've heard rumors about a four-cylinder application as well. There's also talk of hotter R, R-S or R-S GT models coming down the pipeline, and based on what we've experienced in things like the XKR-S, we certainly can't deny the allure of such a model.
It's unclear exactly when Jaguar will show the production F-Type Coupe (at the Frankfurt Motor Show, perhaps?), but the car is expected to go on sale sometime in 2014. Check it out in our latest spy gallery, above.
