Here we have a mostly original, unmolested, and solid RARE 1971 Jaguar E-Type V12 with Automatic transmission. I have personally known this car for over 20 years - We sold the car to its second owner back in the early nineties.  The car spent most of its life here in NJ and in florida after our customer retired.  Original miles are 28,500. Since this Jag had been sitting idle for the past few years, we did a bit of work to get her to run and drive very well.  The engine starts right up, runs smooth with no noises or issues.  The automatic transmission shifts as it should.  All lights are working as they should.  The suspension feels tight.  We replaced the dry rotted door, hatch, glass, bonnet, and lamp rubber gaskets and seals as required.   The paint has been buffed and waxed and shines up very well, as you can see in the pictures. This is a great driver quality car that will offer someone the fun and excitement of a Jaguar with minimal work.  Please look at the photos, this is a very original car.  It looks great, but is not a perfect flaw free show piece, but it is a JAGUAR that you will be proud of.  The leather is a bit dry, the driver's seat has a seam that has let loose, and the driver's carpet is worn.  The paintwork has some small chips, nicks, and blemishes as associated with a 40+ year old classic car.  With minimal work and maintenance this car could be brought up to the next level or driven daily.  Call 908-268-8108 or email jagshop@earthlink.net for further details or to arrange a test drive.  We are the largest INDEPENDENT JAGUAR & LAND ROVER SERVICE, REPAIR, AND RESTORATION facility in the tri-state area. Most of our Classic Jaguars sell very quickly, so if you are interested in this car give us a call and make an offer.  Reasonable offers or interesting trades will all be considered.  Personal inspections as well as third party inspections are welcomed and encouraged.  We can sell you the car as is or provide any work needed for you.  Thank You!  Check us out at  authorizedimportedcars.com

The Jaguar E-Type Lightweight is back on the prowl after a few decades away

Sun, 17 Aug 2014

Sometimes procrastination has its benefits. Jaguar originally planned to build a run of 18 E-Type Lightweights for racing in the '60s. However, it was only ever to complete 12 of them. It has taken all of the intervening decades to finally get back to the project and build the final run of new Lightweights. While Jag announced the plan recently, the first continuation model was unveiled during the Pebble Beach weekend.
Coming from Jaguar Land Rover's Special Operations unit, these cars are identical to the way they left the factory in the '60s. Jag is even using the same grade of aluminum for the bodies, and the cars are fully compliant for FIA historic racing. Power comes from an aluminum, 3.8-liter inline-six with about 300 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque routed through a four-speed manual gearbox. Who could guess that in 2014 someone could buy a brand new vehicle from a major manufacturer that comes with Weber carbs? Though, Lucas mechanical fuel injection is an option.
While they look old, these new E-types are also a wonder of modern technology. To get things just right, the company laser scanned an original car to create the new bodies. Check out the gallery from the unveiling to see this old cat on the prowl again.

Jay Leno checks out a replica 1937 Jaguar SS100

Tue, Nov 3 2015

This 1937 Jaguar SS100 might be fantastic, but it's not an original. It's a replica, but one built to exacting standards and the original design. And it stopped by Jay Leno's Garage for a quick spin. The original was built by SS Cars Ltd, the precursor of the company we know today as Jaguar – and which changed its name and logo after WWII for reasons that shouldn't require explanation. There were only a few hundred of them made between 1936 and 1940, but they remain a popular choice among recreation manufacturers. Many of those replica constructors are based out of the UK, but this particular example is the work of one Jason Len, head of XKs Unlimited out of San Luis Obispo, CA. Len and company will produce a turnkey replica of the pre-war Jag convertible starting at $170,000. Which may seem like an awful lot for a replica, but that price may seem entirely reasonable when you see all the attention that goes in to building one. Watch the video above to see for yourself.
