 This 1970 Series II e-type  FHC is currently registered in Connecticut and is driven only on clear days and to shows, slaloms and Jaguar events.

This car has been massaged by the owner with careful attention to the obvious Value that these cars are already attaining and no doubt will continue to climb at a very fast pace in the very near future.

  The original 4.2 litre motor was removed from the car, it had an exhaust valve failure so it needs some head work and a piston, but it comes with the car as it should.  What is in the car now is the best possible scenario.  (1987 sIII sedan block and large valve head) This car has been carefully built according to a plan up to the point of the paint and the bodywork.  Below is the list of the modifications, but remember, all modifications were made with the careful thought of being able to put the car back to stock without a lot of trouble.

 

-The motor is a 1987 Jaguar Series III sedan 4.2 litre original bore, it only had 40k miles on it and it was checked, cleaned assembled with

the large valve injected cylinder head and it retains the large engine oil cooler and spin on oil filter to keep it cool and to retain oil temp.

-The motor is fitted with 4.2 e-type  triple Su carburetors and original 1967 style intake and they are jetted for the current setup

-The car has a Holley Fuel pump and runs an Adjustable Fuel pressure regulator and  starts immediately, never any fuel issues.

-The ignition is a Mallory Distributor with new 7MM wires .

-The motor has a Large Bore exhaust Header and free flow mufflers, it is not excessively loud.  Just right

-The transmission is the original 4 speed and bell housing, it does grind into second gear at times, Just to make to sure to mention.

-The Clutch is a Clutchmasters disc Heavy duty and The Flywheel is a Terrys Aluminum lightweight Unit.

-The radiator is a large core, full flow Griffin aluminum radiator with a Hi volume electric fan.  The car Always runs cool.  never an issue.

-The car has a lightweight 80A  aluminum  cased modern alternator and regulator, and it has a new 800amp battery

-The car has a rebuilt Water pump and all new hoses, all new clamps and all new fittings, fluids are recent and checked.

-The differential is a 3:31 E-type unit , it is limited slip it is not rebuilt and we cannot totally guarantee this ratio  and it

  leaks at the pinion seal. The rear rotors have been replaced once already, they are not the original sandwich design

  and they are fine, look almost new.  They were not redone with this build.     

-The rear suspension is stock but for uprated mountings and Koni shocks- the rear wheel houses are all rebuilt, new bearings and detailed.

-The front suspension is stock but for the upgrade of larger Series III spindles, hubs and larger stock Jaguar Calipers.

  the brake hoses are new stock rubber lines and the car has all Ate super blue fluid in the brake and clutch systems.

  All brake pads are premium Hi temp pads and are less than a year old less than 2000 miles.

-The car comes with any extra parts that are available, the rear bumper, which is off now is included, front bumpers are available from

  many sources.

-There is no radio in the car, interior is very usable, original headliner is in the car at this time.  It has stock seats, with good tracks and hardware.

-The tires are almost new Dunlop Direzzas, Stagger size (see pictures) and the wheels are 16x8 steel road wheels. they can accept any center cap,

  either Chevrolet or jaguar or just plain.

 

-This E-type can be enjoyed the way it is? or put back to stock.  Look at the pictures carefully, it needs a lot of body work, the floors are sound but have been repaired with metal and may want to be made with new pans someday as the car keeps rising in value.  Depending on your game plan, the floors are fine to leave as they are as well as the body work.   If series II cars continue to rise as they have been following the Series I e-types, The original motor may be the way to go.  And the already set up Series III motor has plenty of value which would be an additional value.

-This car is dependable and very quick,  its stance turns heads and it drives solid and flat, not soft like a stock car.

There is a lot of work done to this car, There is over 40k dollars invested in the build out of this Jaguar.  Heater box is already detailed, It is mechanically sound, the suspension is sorted out...Look at it closely and don’t let it slip by.  Look at the pictures!  As for the pictures, Everyone knows what a Jaguar E-type looks like, These are not Glamor shots, we are trying to show the condition and value of this car in order to explain what is being offered here.  this car turns heads...

Land Rover will downsize with a pair of hybridized turbodiesel sixes

Europe's automotive industry has ground to a halt, but the strict emissions regulations that went into effect in early 2020 are still looming on the horizon. Land Rover is preparing to launch a pair of hybridized turbodiesel six-cylinder engines in a bid to comply with the regulations and avoid paying huge fines, according to a recent report. British magazine Autocar learned Land Rover has applied the mild hybrid technology already offered on the Evoque and the Discovery Sport, its two smallest models, to a 3.0-liter straight-six to obtain 300 horsepower. The company will also release a more powerful version of the six rated at about 350 horses. The former will be available on HSE, HSE Dynamic and Autobiography Dynamic variants of the Range Rover Sport, while the latter will be added to upmarket models like the HST. The full-size Range Rover (pictured) will get them, too. The sixes represent a two-pronged approach to replacing the 4.4-liter turbodiesel V8 available in Europe, among other markets. It delivers 335 horsepower and 546 pound-feet of torque, and it sends the Range Rover from zero to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds while giving it a 7,700-pound towing capacity. These figures are hard to argue against, but it's an older engine that's increasing the company's fleet-wide average emissions output, so it has to go. The mild hybrid system won't power either Range Rover on electricity alone, but it will make them cleaner and more efficient; losing a pair of cylinders will help in both areas, too. Although Land Rover hasn't confirmed plans to ax the V8 or launch a hybridized six, suppliers have started publishing information about the powertrain, so its launch is believed to be around the corner. Time will tell whether it will appear on the current-generation models or their replacements, which are undergoing shakedown testing globally and due out in the coming months. Sister company Jaguar will use the mild hybrid technology, too. Base models rarely get their due in the press. Big-engine, high-horsepower variants get all the headlines, but the junior version is what sells in volume. We're just as guilty here at Autoblog, with both a first and second drive of the Jaguar XE in supercharged V6 guise, and barely a mention of the entry-level, 2.0-liter diesel. So, in Perd Hapley style, the Jaguar XE diesel is the model of the Jaguar XE we're going to discuss. Yes, the volume model of the Jaguar XE is a diesel, at least for now. A turbocharged 2.0-liter gas engine, wearing the 25t badge, will arrive after the XE's early 2016 on-sale date. Oil-burners and volume are not a thing in the United States, except for heavy-duty pickup trucks. Despite that apparent contradiction, the XE 20d could find some converts. Driving Notes The biggest clue to the engine's fuel source is the tachometer, which only counts to 6,000. But you wouldn't know from the fast throttle response or the way revs climb when you mash the accelerator. All 180 peak horsepower come at 4,000 rpm, and the 317 pound-feet of torque are available from 1750 to 2500 rpm. Really, this engine is smooth. Credit the low 15.1:1 compression ratio, which also helps make the engine's aluminum construction possible. The surge of power from the turbo builds steadily instead of kicking in all at once. Jaguar's engineers focused on friction reduction with a fanatical devotion, all in the name of efficiency. One key feature is the offset crankshaft. That is, the crankshaft is located to the side of the cylinder centerline. This reduces the side load forces during the firing cycle. In the manual transmission the gears are cupped to reduce mass. A pump sprays oil directly on the cogs, which cuts back on the total amount of fluid and cuts back on friction loss due to windage. No, the manual transmission isn't coming to the US. And yes, it's really good. Not just in the cliche journalist love for the diesel-manual combo, but objectively good. That smooth responsive nature of the engine is amplified when you get to choose your own gears. So we make due with the eight-speed automatic, the 8HP45 version of the ubiquious ZF box. The coolest trick here is a pendulum-style damper in the torque converter instead of a typical spring damper. When the torque converter is locked up this cuts down on torsional vibration between the engine and transmission. And that enables low-rpm cruising and higher mpg.

An automaker with as rich a heritage as Jaguar is bound to create a few experts along the way... and some divergent opinions, too. So on the eve of the debut of the new XE, Jaguar brought together three experts to whittle down the long list of classic Leaping Cats to just ten.
For this gargantuan task, it brought in Ian Callum (who, as the company's chief designer, knows a thing or two about Jaguars), Lord Charles Henry Gordon-Lennox (the Earl of March and founder of the Goodwood Revival) and Brian Johnson - who may be better known as the frontman of AC/DC, but also a classic car enthusiast, collector and racer in his own right.
So what did the designer, the nobleman and the celebrity choose? The SS100, XK120 (namely number NUB 120), the C-Type that competed at the 1953 Mille Miglia, the D-Type that won at Reims, the Mk II sedan, the E-Type that served as the Geneva show car, the one and only XJ13, company founder Sir William Lyons' personal XJ6 S1, the TWR XJS touring car and the 1988 Le Mans-winning XJR-9.
