Jaguar F-Type SVR and Range Rover Evoque Convertibles go rainbow for Pride

BMW isn't the only automobile company getting involved in Pride Week, as Jaguar Land Rover announced it also has cars that will participate. And yes, they're convertibles with rainbow stripes. On Sunday, June 30, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) will participate in the NYC Pride March with several themed vehicles and employees walking next to them. JLR chose two of its most intriguing vehicles in the Jaguar F-Type SVR convertible and the Range Rover Evoque Convertible. Jaguar unveiled two different F-Type SVRs, one in a gorgeous blue and the other in white. Both cars have the same detailing, though, including rainbow stripes on the the sides, rear bumpers, and hoods. The F-Types also have rainbow stripes across the tops of their windshields, and "JAG YOU ARE" decals across the windshields and rear bumpers. The silver Evoque is only slightly different. It, too, has rainbow stripes across its doors, rear bumper, and windshield. Rather than a "JAG YOU ARE" decal, however, "EVOQUE" is spread across the front bumper in rainbow lettering. Aston and Jag from James Bond Spectre have at it

Daniel Craig hasn't made a bad James Bond film yet. Spectre is his next step into the iconic role that's due to hit theaters on November 6, and it doesn't look likely to ruin his streak. Still, that's a long wait for such an exciting movie. If you're willing to possibly spoil just a little for yourself, a new featurette shows part of one of the big car chases right now. From what we've seen so far, the chase through Rome in Spectre has earned a good amount of screen time. While the reason for it in the plot is a mystery, that doesn't really matter anyway. What's important is that the scene stars Bond in the Aston Martin DB10 and a villain played by Dave Bautista in the now supercharged V8-powered version of the Jaguar C-X75 racing around the Italian capital's tight streets at night. This clip gives a glimpse at some of the work necessary to get the difficult filming completed. We've seen some of that effort before, though, when footage of the preparation for one shot leaked out. Craig reportedly sustained a pretty bad bump on the head during the shooting, and an earlier rumor also suggested that Bond might get behind the wheel of a Fiat 500 at some point in the scene.

Tata to get Jaguar and Land Rover tech, platforms too?

Since buying Jaguar Land Rover, Indian automaker Tata has generally left its luxury arm's platforms and technology alone. However, those days might be gone. The two of them are gradually growing closer with coordinated development and rumors of shared platforms. And it looks like all of that work and money is finally going to pay off with an actual vehicle in the near future.
According to Australian website Drive, Tata wants to make its cars more attractive to buyers outside of India, and to do that the company knows it must improve quality. The Indian company is being careful, though, because it doesn't want to dilute the Jaguar or Land Rover brands with cheap models. "You're going to see in the future a lot of sharing of technologies and platforms over time, but you won't see a JLR with a Tata badge on it," said Darren Bowler, managing director of Tata's Australian distributor, to Drive.
According to Bowler, these future vehicles are already on the way. Tata and JLR have a global platform in the works for 2017 that both companies could use for cars or crossovers. He also hinted that Jaguar's new Ingenium engines could be shared among the brands in the future, too.
