1969 Jaguar E-type on 2040-cars
Johnstown, New York, United States
If you have any questions or would like to view the car in person please email me at: baobaaustino@artsociety.net . Up for sale is this beautiful, one owner, 1969 Jaguar XKE 4.2 roadster. I am not a dealer, I am a family friend
of the original owner and I'm assisting her in selling her beloved Jaguar. The car was purchased new from
Harrington Motors in Montgomery New York in 1969. It has always been garaged and for the most part is all original.
It currently has 45,xxx original miles on it's all original, numbers matching drive train. The interior is all
original from its black leather seats to it's mahogany steering wheel to its original Jaguar rubber floor mats.
Some scuffs on the leather seats are present, the pad on the center console is a little worn and the clock in the
dash does not work, the rear view mirror is cracked. The wood on the steering wheel is cracked but could be easily
repaired.
The exterior of the car is in excellent condition for an original, forty-six year old car. The car was
repainted in the 1970's due to a fender bender type accident but the Primrose Yellow paint has held up very well.
It does have some small dings, chips and scuffs as you would expect of a forty year old paint job. One of the
issues with the paint is that some of the trim pieces have traces of the repaint on them. The convertible top is in
excellent condition. The original chrome wire wheels are in great shape with little rust and just a trace of
peeling. The chrome trim is in nice shape.
The original engine runs great. It did have some work done last winter by Klaus Garage in Hopewell Junction New
York (see pics for repair invoice). The carburetors were rebuilt, the gas tank was replaced, clutch slave cylinder,
new battery, brake fluid reservoir, brake master and servo unit, fuel pump, basic tune-up etc work along with a
passed New York State inspection. The car runs great, This past May, the car was driven fifty plus miles from my
house in Hopewell Junction NY to the Royals Car Show at Lime Rock Racetrack in CT without a problem.

2016 Jaguar F-Type debuts available manual transmission, AWD
Wed, 19 Nov 2014If you're like us, you fell in the deepest, darkest sort of love with Jaguar's F-Type the moment its voluptuous form first surfaced. The car's full-bodied engine specs only furthered our ardor, and the droptop Jag sealed the deal before we even turned a wheel - all it took was hearing its engine bark to life.
And yet, even after driving the original convertible and the subsequent coupe, we've never quite shaken the notion that Jaguar erred a bit too heavily on the Grand Touring side of the equation for a proper sports car. That's partially because even the base model comes with a boatload of weight-adding luxury features. But perhaps more importantly, it's because the F-Type has only been available with an automatic transmission. Admittedly, the gearbox in question is a damned good paddle-shifted eight-speed ZF unit, but it's always chafed a bit that Jaguar wasn't committed to offering purists a manual - even if such a model would never be a high-volume proposition.
Apparently we weren't the only ones bothered by three-pedal omission. According to Russ Varney, F-Type Vehicle Program Director,
Are you the Jaguar F-Type Coupe R-S?
Fri, 23 Aug 2013It's no secret that Jaguar is working on a fixed-roof version of the F-Type roadster, but now it looks like it's also developing a high-performance model for said coupe. Captured sharpening its claws at the Nürburgring, this F-Type Coupe prototype could very well be an R-S or even a more track-ready R-S GT variant.
Our biggest clue suggesting the latter are its massive brake rotors with bright-yellow calipers - similar pieces are also found on the recently introduced XKR-S GT. This would make sense, since a report in May said that Jaguar is looking to create a full line of R-S GT models in a similar fashion as the Mercedes-Benz AMG Black Series. Missing from this prototype, though, are the telltale aero add-ons we seen on the XKR-S GT - go-faster bits like the latter's front fascia winglets and rear wing, though this model is obviously still being developed. Regardless of what this new grippier, quicker kitty is called, we say "Yes, please."
Jaguar crossover to be named F-Pace [w/video]
Mon, Jan 12 2015Remember when the Apple iPad came out, and even reclusive Myanmar tribes were signing up for the Internet just so they could comment, "What kind of @#$%^ name is that?" But now, no one thinks "iPad" is unusual. Well, maybe the name of the new Jaguar crossover, F-Pace, will be like that. Maybe. We're told it was christened after worshipping at the altars of the F-Type and the company tagline, "Grace, Pace and Space" coined by founding father Sir William Lyons. The rest of it shouldn't give pause, though. Called a "performance crossover," the production version of the CX-17 concept will have five seats and be built on the firm's new aluminum-intensive platform. It's promised to have an "advanced suspension system" that incorporates both Jaguar's Instinctive All Wheel Drive and All Surface Progress Control tech, the latter being a low-speed cruise control for handling slippery surfaces, touted on the coming XE R-Sport model. Unfortunately, we've been told the production F-Pace won't actually get a Detroit Auto Show reveal, despite the video leading us to believe that will be the case. However, the CUV is well into development testing and will hit showrooms next year. So get ready. For the F-Pace. There's video above, you can click on the inset image to begin acquainting yourself with that name, and a press release below has a few more particulars. JAGUAR F-PACE: AN ALL-NEW PERFORMANCE CROSSOVER TO JOIN LINE-UP IN 2016 - Jaguar announces F-PACE – the production version of the breakthrough C-X17 concept car - A highly-efficient five-seat performance crossover underpinned by Jaguar's innovative aluminium-intensive architecture and advanced suspension system - All-weather and dynamic driving traction to be aided by the Instinctive All Wheel Drive® system and Jaguar's All Surface Progress Control technology* - The Jaguar F-PACE will deliver an unrivalled blend of style, performance and practicality (MAHWAH, NJ) – January 11, 2015 – Jaguar has today confirmed it will introduce an all-new model to the Jaguar line-up, to go on-sale in 2016, named the Jaguar F-PACE. Ian Callum, Director of Design, Jaguar, commented, "We received such an overwhelmingly positive response to the C-X17 concept car last year that we just had to make it a reality. "The Jaguar F-PACE, inspired by the F-TYPE, represents a perfectly judged balance of style, performance and practicality.
