selling this for a client/friend. below you will find all known history on this car. the only recent history is its been sitting on a lift in a private garage and driven occasionally.
This is a beautiful example of an E-Type Jaguar. It was built in late 1967 and was one of the first series 1 1/2 Jaguars. It has three SU carburetors, 9:1 compression ratio and the favored toggle type switches on the dash.
The present owner has owned this car for approximately 20 years, the last six of which were spent completely restoring the car. The car was completely disassembled, media blasted and restored on a rotisserie. Any rusted metal was replaced and all systems refurbished, replaced or rebuilt. The car was painted with Deltron DBW 75390 SC bright red. The biscuit colored interior was replaced complete, including leather seats and armrest. A new top was installed. Engine was completely rebuild, to include Stellite valve seats for the use of unleaded gas.
Brakes cylinders, SU's were all rebuild, exhaust is stainless steel. Interior chrome trim was replated as necessary.
I am selling this car for my customer/friend. I own the restoration shop that did the paint/bodywork. I can tell you the car is in fantastic driving condition. I do not think the car has many miles on it since restoration was complete.
Beautiful example of a 1967 Jaguar XKE Series One Roadster. I have own this E-Type for approximately five years when I purchased it from the previous owner who had it in his possession for over twenty years, the last six of which were spent completely restoring the car. As you can see in the photos the car was completely disassembled, media blasted and restored on a rotisserie. Any rusted metal was replaced and all systems refurbished, replaced, or rebuilt. This e-type was painted with Deltron DBW 75390 SC bright red. The biscuit colored interior was replaced complete, including leather seats and armrests. A new top was also installed. The 4.2 liter engine, Engine # 7E 12604-9, which is a matching number, was completely rebuilt, to include Stellite valves seats for use of unleaded gas. Brake cylinders and SU's were all rebuilt, stainless steel exhaust installed. Interior chrome trim was replated as neccessary.
Upon receiving delivery of this 67 Jaguar all the following had been performed by Donovan Motorcar Service (Jaguar Specialists in service and restoration) in Lenox, Mass.; installed new temperature switch, new fuel pump, fuel tank cleaned and new screen on pick up tube, new bonnet subframe (painted and color matched) new radiator and header tank, install upper and lower ball joints, steering rack removed, disassembled steering column and new bushings installed, distributor removed and set up on distributor machine to adjust dwell, new battery, complete tune up.
The final upgrade came with the addition of four Dayton chrome wire wheels, 6 inch curley hubs with Pirelli P4000 205/70 ZR 15 SuperTouring tires. The original rims will be included, they were mismatched rims with red line bias ply tires installed.
The paint and the overall condition of this vehicle is outstanding as the photos show. The paint has been polished to a mirror like prefection, all lines are perfect. No were no corners cut in thr restoration of this car inside or out. As beautiful as this jag is from the outside it is an extreme pleasure to drive it. It starts flawlessly and the engine has incredible torque. The handling is incredible with the insatllation of the Pirellis. An appraisal was performed for insurance purposes in Nov. 2009. The appraisal came in at $91,500, with summation: ".Fine, well restored, or a combination of superior restoration and excellent original. Also, an extremely well maintained original showing very minimal wear." Again only for insurance was the appraisal done and this not the number that the reserve is established to. Appraisal will be included with sale.

Jaguar working on 600-hp F-Type SVR
Thu, Apr 30 2015Thinking about buying a new Jaguar F-Type? You've got a number of supercharged engine options to choose from... and soon you'll have one more. According to Motor Trend, Jaguar and its Special Vehicle Operations unit are working on a new SVR version of the F-Type, and it's tipped to pack 600 or more horsepower. That's more than anything Jaguar (or for that matter Land Rover) has offered for public consumption to date, but follows a delineated progression of output. As it is, the 5.0-liter supercharged V8 offered at launch in the F-Type convertible was already churning out 500 metric horsepower. Then came the F-Type R coupe that bumped output up to 550, followed by the limited-edition Project 7 roadster with 575. Topping 600 would only follow naturally, then, but would give the F-Type a broad range of outputs, starting at 335 hp and nearly doubling once it hits the top. It would also handsomely eclipse the Mercedes-AMG GT S (503 hp) and Porsche 911 Turbo S (552 hp), rival the Aston Martin Vantage GT12 (592 hp), and give even the new Audi R8 V10 Plus (610 hp) a run for its money. The bigger question is what form the SVR model will take, and with what other equipment. Coupe or convertible, rear-drive or all-wheel drive, automatic or manual... it's too early to say at this point. But we can probably expect much of the equipment from Project 7 – active diff, carbon-ceramic brakes... the works – to reappear in the SVR as well.
U.S. issues new tariff threat, this time against British-built cars
Mon, Jan 27 2020WASHINGTON — Britain is the United States' closest ally but their long friendship may be sorely tested as the two countries try to forge a new trade agreement after Britain's exit from the European Union. U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said on Saturday in London that he was optimistic that a bilateral deal with Britain could be reached as soon as this year. But Mnuchin gave up no ground after a second meeting with his UK counterpart, Sajid Javid. Javid has insisted that Britain will proceed with a unilateral digital services tax, despite a U.S. threat to levy retaliatory tariffs on British-made autos. Mnuchin told reporters after Saturday's meeting that such taxes would discriminate against big U.S. tech companies like Alphabet Inc's Google, Apple, Facebook and Amazon. The UK Treasury declined to comment on the private meeting. The divide highlights the challenges ahead as the Trump administration seeks a new bilateral agreement with Britain, part of a broader push to rebalance relations with nearly all its major trading partners. The stakes are high — British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has pegged the trade deal with United States as a way to ease the pain of breaking with Europe, Britain's largest trade partner. U.S. President Donald Trump, has promised a "massive" trade deal to support Brexit, the product of a populist movement similar to his "America First" agenda. The goodwill and special relationship the two countries have enjoyed for decades may not count for much, experts say. "Trump is not going to be doing Johnson any favors," said Amanda Sloat, a senior fellow with the Brookings Institution in Washington. "He's not going to give him a trade deal without major concessions." Even before the digital tax issue arose, the Trump administration threatened to tax foreign car imports, which could hit British-made Jaguar, Land Rover, Mini, and Honda Civic hatchback cars. Stiff U.S. trade demands include increased access for U.S. farm goods, concessions that will be difficult for Britain's entrenched natural food culture to swallow. The United States also wants Britain to change the way its National Health Service prices drugs and allow in more U.S. pharmaceuticals, which could prove politically unpopular for Johnson's government. Washington's demand that London block Chinese telecoms equipment maker Huawei Technologies Co Ltd for national security reasons could also cloud talks.
Stirling Moss' Jaguar C-Type could bring $7.5M in Monaco
Mon, Nov 23 2015With little over 50 examples made and a decorated racing history, the Jaguar C-Type is one of the most sought-after models ever made by the famous British marque. Bonhams has a very special one coming up for auction – one that Sir Stiling Moss drove at Le Mans in 1952. Jaguar built chassis number XKC 011 for its works racing team in 1952. It made its debut at Silverstone at the hands of pre-war racing legend Peter Walker. Then the factory outfitted with specially elongated bodywork for Le Mans, where Moss teamed up with Walker to split driving duties. Sadly it didn't make it to the finish line thanks to an engine failure, marking the second of eight DNFs that Moss would suffer in ten campaigns at the French endurance race. Moss drove this C-Type in several more races after it was converted back to its standard bodywork. It was then raced by Ecurie Francorchamps before being sold to run in British club racing. The current owner acquired it in 1963, and has held onto it until now. XKC 011 is scheduled to highlight the upcoming Bonhams event at the Fairmont Monte Carlo during the Monaco Grand Prix Historique next May. Bonhams has not published a pre-sale estimate for how much it expects this example to sell for. However in correspondence with Autoblog, the company's auction specialist James Knight revealed: "We certainly feel the car will exceed GBP5m and has the potential to achieve much more." That base estimate works out to over $7.5 million at current exchange rates. We'll be watching to see whether the final sale price comes closer to the $3.7 million for which - according to the Sports Car Market database - Gooding sold one C-Type in 2012, or to the $13.2 million which RM Sotheby's raised for another this past August. Timed to coincide with the Monaco Grand Prix Historique, the sale will take place on 13 May 2016. "Already renowned in motorsport circles for its annual Monaco Grand Prix and Monte Carlo Rally, the glittering Mediterranean Principality is now to host the Bonhams Monaco Sale," said James Knight, Bonhams Group Motoring Director. "The auction will be carefully curated, tailored to offer only the most desirable models to the market.
