I'm selling this car for my Father. It's been in our family 25 years.
This car has never been restored. It has been repainted once and had it's leather seats recovered. This was done back in the early 1990's. The car has a factory hardtop. This car is considered the last of the series one cars, having all the desirable features of the series one cars, Triple SU's, slim bumpers and lights, toggle switches with one of the first open headlight bonnets.
This car is in very nice condition, very solid, rust free and always been in San Diego, Ca.. The paint is twenty years old and still looks great. There are a few minor flaws. There is some shrinkage on the bonnet near the headlight buckets, a couple of repaired paint chips on the edge of the trunk lid. Overall the car looks great and these areas are hardly noticeable. The chrome is excellent. The Hardtop has never been restored, is all original and in nice shape. The black paint is thin in places. I've just replaced some of the rubber seals. The car also has the AMCO bumpers that fit between the overiders, I just took them off.
The interior is also very nice with everything being correct. The center console is the only area that shows some wear, which is minor. The stereo isn't hooked up and does pull out leaving a neat hole. Everything in this car works with the exception of the small clock in the tach. The top was also replaced in the early 1990's, is in great shape and the back window clear. It's spent most of it's life folded down. The top boot is the original, looks fine but is showing some wear. The trunk has a been relined and looks new. The spare is a nice Michelin on a very nice rim. The jack and knock-off hammer are in their bag. There is no tool kit. We never had one.
Mechanically the car is excellent. It runs, drives and stops just like a nice E-type should. Two years ago my wife and I drove this car from Whidbey Island, Wa. to San Diego, Ca. using Highway 1 and 101 as much as we could. The car ran flawlessly, it was a fantastic drive.
Before that trip we replaced all four tires and tubes, the brake master and booster. All the coolant hoses. A new electronic ( pointless ) SU fuel pump and the starter.
Seven years ago I dropped the rear sub frame , resealed the diff. and rebuilt everything else, plus new shocks and calipers front and rear . Steering rack mounts and boots. Drive shaft rebuilt. Converted the car to a spin on oil filter
There was also a valve job done when we first bought the car. My Brother and I owned a British Sports Car shop in San Diego at the time. The mileage of 68,322 is believed to be correct. My father worked overseas and the car spent most of it's life in storage.
It's body tag reads ; Car # 1E15126 , Engine # 7E12765-9 , Body # 4E6911 and Gearbox # EJ134888 .
I never looked at the gearbox, but all the other numbers match including the head and the block. The small silver tag near this reads J/67 .
Overall this is a great E-type. It's a car I have always loved and cared for, hoping it would be mine one day. But it's not to be, so here's your chance. This E-type looks and drives great, but isn't so perfect that you're afraid to use it. It is a 46 year old car, so it's not perfect, just very nice.

Jaguar XFR-S is motor-porn on a mountain road
Tue, 04 Dec 2012The 2014 Jaguar XFR-S might have only been good enough to take the runner-up spot in our Editor's Choice top five debuts at the LA Auto Show, but we'd be hard-pressed to find a car with a more exhilarating exhaust note. As proof of this, Jaguar released a video showing the XFR-S tearing up a windy, European mountain road in close to a minute of hardcore driving footage.
The big blue cat has the same great exhaust note of the XKR-S, and the driver puts all of the car's 550 horsepower to work demonstrating the handling - and drifting - abilities of the new XFR-S. If there's any disappointment to be had, it's the fact that you have to jump to the 30-second mark of the video for any of the action to start.
Scroll down to watch the video, and be sure your speakers are turned all the way up.
Jaguar Land Rover puts the freeze on wounded soldier-athletes [w/video]
Mon, 21 Jul 2014For athletes, the cold is often a powerful ally in treating injures, with RICE (rest, ice, compression and elevation) a popular means of treating muscle pulls, bruising and other common forms of discomfort. Did you know, though, that frosty temps are also popular tools for simply recovering from a rough training session?
Well, we're guessing Jaguar Land Rover knew that, as the British company was kind enough to loan out its climactic testing chamber to Jaco van Gass and Luke Darlington, a pair of veterans wounded in their service to Queen and Country. Van Gass, a former private in the Royal Army, and Darlington, a Royal Marine, are attempting to earn a spot on the British Armed Forces cycling team for the upcoming Invictus Games.
The Games, inspired by the Warrior Games held in the United States, are a sporting competition reserved for injured servicemen and women, either active duty or veterans, and is slated to take place from September 10 to 14 in London's former Olympic venues. Van Gass lost his left arm below the elbow after getting hit by a rocket-propelled grenade (he also suffered from a collapsed lung, punctured internal organs, severe shrapnel and blast wounds, a broken tibia and a fractured knee). Darlington, meanwhile, suffered a traumatic brain injury during action in Afghanistan, and he now suffers from weakness in his right side and cognitive issues.
Jaguars and Land Rovers to feature in 007's Spectre
Mon, Feb 9 2015James Bond may be more closely associated with Aston Martin, but Jaguars and Land Rovers have featured in 007 movies new and old. Skyfall, the most recent installment in the series, opened with Bond and Moneypenny ripping through the streets of Istanbul in a Defender and saw M being chauffeured around London in an XJ. And the upcoming feature Spectre is set to feature some of JLR's finest as well. While Bond himself will be piloting the new Aston Martin DB10, the movie will also feature a Jag and a couple of Landies. The Jaguar C-X75 concept, as we know, will be part of a chase scene against the DB10, now revealed to be set in Rome. But the movie will also include the new Range Rover Sport SVR (with what looks like some auxiliary lighting) and at least two Defenders modified by JLR Special Operations to "Big Foot" specifications with 37-inch off-road tires, upgraded suspensions and added bodywork protection. As you may recall, a couple of months ago a fleet of nine vehicles used in the film were stolen from a garage in Dusseldorf, including five Range Rover Sports. This is the first confirmation we're seeing of any of them being SVR models, or of the Big Foot Defenders being part of the mix as well. The scenes including the Land Rovers have already been filmed in Austria, and we're looking forward to seeing them all on the silver screen come November.
