This is a beautiful 67 that was purchase new by my father in 1967.  He stored it in a garage for over 15 years with only 39k miles on it before giving it to me.  I have replaced the head (due to antifreeze corrosion), hoses, belts, tires, rims, reconditioned the gas tank and radiator, but almost everything else is original.  It runs great and stops great.  the carpet has deteriorated due to age. Paint and chrome have faded due to age.  The top is also faded due to age.  This is probably the only jag that you will find that has been with one owner since birth.  It is a one of a kind collectors item.  The value runs from low end $88k to high end $188k.  This is somewhere in-between as it only need cosmetic work to be perfect.  It has had a dent repaired on the drivers side and still has one small ding on the nose and tail.  It has a straight 6 4.2 liter with 3 dual carbs.  It has the rare 4 speed manual and rear independent suspension.  Disc brakes all around.  I'm only selling this because I want someone else to take care of it better than I finically can.  I will not take low offers and I will not accept scams from individuals wanting to pay the full amount on paypal.  After the initial payment on paypal of $2k, the rest needs to be paid in cash or bank check when picked up a week after the sale is final.  This car is very special to me and my family.
The first XKE was in 1961 and was perfected by 1967.  Jaguar changed the covered headlights and toggle switches in 1968, so this was the last of its kind. Please only serious bidders.
May be seen in Alameda, CA with appointment.

Jaguar-Land Rover builds millionth vehicle at Halewood

Fri, 29 Nov 2013

Jaguar-Land Rover is not what you'd call a volume automaker by any stretch of the imagination. But in the dozen years since it started manufacturing at its Halewood plant near Liverpool, England, the automaker has already built its millionth vehicle.
The landmark vehicle is a Range Rover Evoque, done up in white with red roof and mirrors, black wheels and a red and black interior. The crossover is set to be donated to Cancer Research UK, which will auction it off next year to help fund its projects in the north-west of the country.
Halewood started manufacturing the Jaguar X-Type in 2001, then went on to assemble the Land Rover LR2 / Freelander 2 before taking on production of the Evoque a year and a half ago. The facility reached the 300,000-unit milestone just last year as production moved to a 24-hour cycle for the first time in either marque's history.

This classic Jaguar XJ has a 720-hp ungentlemanly secret

Tue, 19 Nov 2013

Forget Tawny Kitaen. If you want to make a Jaguar XJ rock, just do what this guy did: stuff a heavily modified and turbocharged General Motors V8 under the hood, and take it to the track.
The video calls this Series 1 XJ a sleeper, but with its open exhaust and obvious turbo whistle, the once-gentlemanly sedan is anything but. The owner says that the engine is GM LQ9 V8 that has been stroked to 402 cubic inches putting out around 720 horsepower with 12 pounds of boost (in standard form, this 6.0-liter V8 was used in the second-gen Cadillac Escalade). Check out the video below to see what that kind of power does for this classic Jaguar in the eighth-mile.
