Up for sale is this Pristine 2001 Jaguar XK8 Convertible. This Jag is had only 49,000 miles and its probably one of the cleanest ones out there. The exterior of this high-line vehicle is finished in Metallic Blue and complimented with the camel leather interior. Unfortunately, this car was involved in a flood and its being sold with a salvage flood title from Pennsylvania. I am not sure why the insurance company decided to brand this car a flood car because I can see no sign of flood damage anywhere on this vehicle.I dont believe any water touched this vehicle at all. We had our mechanics check this vehicle from top to bottom and there is no damage at all from any flood. We believe the vehicle was branded a flood simply because of liability reasons. This vehicle is perfect from top to bottom. I have been driving the vehicle daily with my dealer plate and have had no isues with it at all. It is perfectly reliable.
This SC430 is in perfect mechanical condition and everything works the way it should, and I mean everything! Just watch my video and you will see for yourself! Every single light bulb lights up and every switch functions properly. Even the tire pressure sensors work the way they should. I have been driving this vehicle on and off and its a really nice driving vehicle. I put about 1000 miles on it and it runs 100% and gets about 24MPG! It turns heads where ever it goes and people are always asking me about it. This vehicle cost close to $70,000 when it was new!
All the detailing on the car was done and its ready for its new owner. Nothing has to be done to this car! You can jump in this car and drive it 2,000 miles back home without any problems at all. The car has 49k on it, which is very low for a Jaguar, especially one this age. This car was maintained top notch and has always had its maintanence done. The oil changes are up to date and Mobil 1 was always used in this vehicle. This vehicle was also always dealer serviced.
This vehicle spent most of its life in the garage, so it was never subjected to a cold or wet climate. So, you know this car was maintaned the way it should and no expense was spared. This car just had its oil and tranny fluid serviced, has fairly new tires, good brakes, good rotors, and wiper blades. The tires are all matching Michellin tires with plenty of tread remaining.
This XK8 is loaded up with all the rare options. It has leather heated seats, upgraded Alpine sound system, rear parking sensors, power tilt steering wheel, remote keyless entry, CD changer in trunk with IPOD or AUX MP3 capabilities, alloy wheels, real burl wood trimming, full power convertible top, memory settings, automatic rain sensing wipers, motorized headlamp washers, fog lamps, and all the power accessories that you would expect from a Jag.
The car comes 2 keys and the remote key fob. We also have the original floor mats, the full size spare tire, and the complete tool kit in the trunk, along with the trunk mat.
The exterior of the car looks like a brand new car would. There is no scratches, dents, or any other damage to talk about. Its super super clean. The paint shines like glass, you can see your face in it. All the rubber and moldings are in nice shape with no dry rot on them and no leaks. The interior of the car is immaculate. The seats are is fantastic condition and show no wear at all. The wood trims and leather has held up amazingly and it is all intact. The carpets and other panels are all in great shape and all the mechanicals and electricals are 100%. Every single feature in this vehicle is working the way it should. There is no surprises or dissappointments with this vehicle. Its a 10 out of 10 all the way.
Before this vehicle was "flooded" it had a clean carfax with no accident history. I dont believe this vehicle was ever in any accidents and all the painwork seems to be original and perfect.
This car is being sold as-is, where-is, and there is no warranties expressed or implied. This vehicle has a salvage flood title from Pennsylvania. It is YOUR responsibility to find out the laws and regulations for titling this vehicle in your state. If you would like to see the car and test drive it, you are more than welcome to do so. Also, feel free to ask me about the buy-it-now price. If you are located outside my local area, I will assist in any way possible in having the car shipped to you at your cost. A $500 non-refundable deposit must be made within 24 hours on the auctions end. The remaining balance must be paid in full by 3 days after the closing of the auction unless other arrangements are discussed with me in advance. With that being said, feel free to email, call, or text me at anytime if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks and good luck bidding!

Jaguar Land Rover rescues British off-road tuner Bowler

Wed, Dec 18 2019

Jaguar Land Rover's Special Vehicles Operation (SVO) rescued British off-road tuner Bowler from an uncertain fate. The firm has worked with Land Rover in the past, but it has always been independent. While JLR isn't in an ideal position to make acquisitions, and its recent financial troubles are well documented, Bowler was on the brink of shutting down. The small, 34-year old company had entered administration, and the 26 people it employed risked losing their jobs. Monetary details haven't been released, meaning we don't know how much Bowler was worth, but the firm pointed out it's now fully owned by SVO. It joins SV, Vehicle Personalization, and Classic as the division's fourth pillar. It's too early to tell precisely where Bowler will fit in the JLR latticework, because the initial focus will be on stabilizing the company. It will remain based in Belper, England, and every member of its full-time staff has been offered a position as a JLR employee. Bowler made a name for itself by turning the original Defender into a rally car, and Land Rover said the expertise it acquired during decades of racing is highly sought after, so that's a hint we'll see more hardcore models developed jointly by the two companies sooner or later. The new Defender would lend itself well to the Bowler treatment. The Bowler name could replace the SVX nameplate used on the stillborn, V8-powered Discovery, for example. The tuner's focus on off-pavement performance means we're unlikely to see a Bowler-badged Jaguar, but anything is possible as global demand for SUVs (especially quick ones) continues to rise. What's certain is that, once Bowler is stable, it will grow bigger.

Jaguar's XFR-S Sportbrake looks to be one hot kinschlepper

Tue, 23 Jul 2013

This is the Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake, which is too cool for North American sale (the Sportbrake, not the XFR-S sedan, which we're getting soon). Like the XFR-S four-door, it has a 5.0-liter, supercharged V8 pumping out around 550 horsepower.
Our spy photographer's x-ray vision is saying that a ZF eight-speed automatic will be the gearbox of choice for the XFR-S wagon, which fits with the sedan, as well. The Sportbrake also has the usual high-performance touches, with huge air intakes in the front fascia, big wheels wrapped in low-profile tires, a dropped suspension and a rear end that's wearing a diffuser and a pair of meaty, quad exhausts. We're happy to see that the XFR-S Sedan's rear spoiler - or some iteration thereof - isn't here to mangle the Sportbrake's beautiful shape.
Where the this super-fast hauler will debut remains a question. There's virtually zero chance of it arriving at an American auto show (although we do endorse that, and any other decision that brings this wagon to our shores), which likely means it'll be in Europe. The Frankfurt Motor Show and Geneva Motor Show seem like the leading contenders, but we'll just have to wait and see.

How Jaguar optimized the Ingenium gas engine for the F-Type

Fri, Apr 21 2017

At the 2017 New York Auto Show, Jaguar showed off the new entry-level F-Type, packing a 2.0-liter, turbocharged, gasoline-fueled inline-four that produces 296 horsepower, which is built in-house in the UK. It's the debut of this branch of the Ingenium engine series, and it's also the top of the Ingenium gas range; most JLR vehicles will offer a less powerful 247-hp version. We caught up with Jaguar's engineers to figure out exactly how this high-output Ingenium engine differs, and what Jaguar had to do to fit it in the F-Type's engine bay. While all Ingenium 2.0-liter gas fours share major architecture – the aluminum block and heads, as well as the bore and stroke – there are some internal differences. The most important are the low-compression pistons, which allow for more boost without detonation. The new compression ratio is 9.5:1, compared to the 10.5:1 ratio in the 247-hp spec engines. To make the most out of more boost, you need new plumbing and a way to get more fuel into the combustion chamber. So Jaguar fitted a larger twin-scroll turbocharger that's unique to this application. It features low-friction ceramic ball bearings – Jaguar says this improves transient response. There are also new fuel injectors and a fuel pump to accommodate the increased demand for gas in the high-output engine. On the back end, there's a unique exhaust system with active flaps to give it a louder bark when called for. Of course, some new hardware and more boost means the various electronic systems that control the engine needed changes. For one, Jaguar's changed the cam timing and valve lift mapping, as well as the ignition timing. The throttle mapping and transmission calibration have also been optimized for the new engine. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. As far as the driver's concerned, the biggest change from the 247-hp engine to the 296-hp one – other than increased scoot – will be where the power peak is. The 296-hp engine makes peak power at a higher point in the rev range, which should reward drivers who generously prod the throttle and hold gears in manual mode. Remember, F-Types equipped with this engine will only be available with an automatic transmission. You should also remember that it's an excellent gearbox overall, with rapid, smooth shift characteristics, if the other 8-speed Jaguars are anything to go by.
