Jay Leno checks out a replica 1937 Jaguar SS100

This 1937 Jaguar SS100 might be fantastic, but it's not an original. It's a replica, but one built to exacting standards and the original design. And it stopped by Jay Leno's Garage for a quick spin. The original was built by SS Cars Ltd, the precursor of the company we know today as Jaguar – and which changed its name and logo after WWII for reasons that shouldn't require explanation. There were only a few hundred of them made between 1936 and 1940, but they remain a popular choice among recreation manufacturers. Many of those replica constructors are based out of the UK, but this particular example is the work of one Jason Len, head of XKs Unlimited out of San Luis Obispo, CA. Len and company will produce a turnkey replica of the pre-war Jag convertible starting at $170,000. Which may seem like an awful lot for a replica, but that price may seem entirely reasonable when you see all the attention that goes in to building one. Watch the video above to see for yourself. Jaguar riffs on Super Bowl ad with new F-Type Coupe web short

Continuing the story of black hearts it began with its first Super Bowl commercial, Jaguar is roaring down the dark and oh-so-magnificently appealing road of villainy with a new spot featuring Tom Hiddleston. Using its new F-Type Coupe to demonstrate, the actor explains the salient features of the best - meaning, English - villains.
However, it's likely that even if you could manage the elegance, the tailored suit, the sharp wit and the distinct sound, you couldn't pull it all off nearly as well as Hiddleston. That doesn't mean you can't try, of course. Might we suggest starting with his excellent lesson in being properly villainous in the video below?

2015 Jaguar F-Type V6 S Coupe

My first, ill-fated job in the auto world was at an exotic car dealer in metro Detroit. The job itself sucked, but the cars, they were exceptional. Amidst a sea of Tiptronic Porsche Boxsters, first-gen Mercedes-Benz SLKs and abused second-generation Range Rovers, there were some real gems.
In particular, I have fond memories of a trio of undrivable Jaguar E-Types. Two Series II coupes as well as a Series III convertible (that featured a mostly broken roof) spent the entirety of my brief tenure at the dealership in the back of the musty service garage. I'd make side trips through there just to see the trio of E-Types, which rarely failed to put a big, ridiculous grin on my face.
Since that time in the summer of 2005, there hasn't been a single Jag that's been capable of eliciting the same goofy smile. Not the XFR-S, with its un-aristocratic wing, nor the XKR-S. At the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show, though, Jaguar introduced this F-Type Coupe. Sure, the droptop model had been around for a bit, but I thought it was the new coupe that most captured the E-Type's classic aesthetic, with a swooping roofline, those gorgeous rear haunches and a long, powerful hood. I had to drive one.
