Exceptionally clean and well-cared for XK8 with 56,879 original miles. Until I purchased this car 4/30/13 is was a one owner car from Newport Beach, California. Amazing condition. I had the car checked by a mechanic who owns a Jaguar service center and it needed nothing. This car has been garaged since purchase and I have driven it only 707 miles and usually only on Sunday (cliche I know but it's true) to keep her happy. Comes with books. Never smoked in. Happy to fax or e-mail the Carfax report. If you live in the Los Angeles area you are welcome to view the car in person. I should note this car is one where the piece of wood on the center of the dash has clouded visible in the photo. The mechanic said this was a common problem with some of the XK8's. It does not detract at all from beauty of the interior. The only other 'flaws' I notice are touch up paint on the front bumper (in photo), very slight wear on the edge of the drivers seat from getting into the car, and minor scratching on the top of the left front fender apparently from whoever serviced the car. I can send photos on those items. Also, full disclosure, the car is currently financed with Wells Fargo. If you are familiar with the XK8 you will love this car! If you are not familiar with it will blow you away. Everything is on this car. The seats are the best and holding the steering wheel is great. I feel certain this style is destined to be a collectors item - it is a guaranteed head-turner! I only wish I didn't have to let it go. Buyer pays shipping (I am happy to assist). Local pick up available. Questions please feel free to e-mail me. |

2015 Jaguar F-Type R Coupe [w/video]
Thu, 16 Jan 2014This is it. This is the nasty cat we've been hankering for most. Whereas the Jaguar F-Type convertible remains the company's purest expression of lifestyle fun and expendable income, it's this coupe version that originally stole our eyeballs and never gave them back when it debuted as the C-X16 Concept way back at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. And now we've had an early turn at driving the most potent variant, the Jaguar F-Type R Coupe.
This F-Type Coupe design is so utterly visually stunning that, even if something dynamically or functionally was not really to our liking, we would still want to have the wherewithal to buy one and garage it, if only to stare at it - not unlike our reaction to the 2007-2009 Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione coupe, then. Whether such beauty needs to be in the form of this $99,000 mondo 542-horsepower R version or the more attainable six-cylinder trim is an open question.
In case you need reminding, that's 542 horses maxing out at 6,500 rpm, along with 502 pound-feet of torque on tap between 2,500 and 5,500 revs. There is no indicator yet as to whether Jaguar will eventually come out with an R version beyond the 488-hp V8 S for the convertible, either, so this may well be our only shot at such hair-brained antics in this small Jag. Small and not quite light, we should add - despite its all-aluminum goodness - the F Coupe rings in at 3,638 pounds. That sort of heft is one thing on the street, but it's quite another on a twisty roadcourse, and we aimed to figure out if the coupe's 80-percent greater stiffness versus the open F-Type (along with its higher attendant spring rates) were enough to make a big difference.
Wacky Jaguar crossover mule is a mind-blowing mashup
Tue, 03 Dec 2013As Jaguar prepares to introduce its first-ever utility vehicle, our spy shooters have captured this jacked-up XF mule out testing. While a production Jaguar crossover will surely resemble something closer to the recent C-X17 Concept, we can't help but think that the automaker could sell at least a few of these lifted, four-wheel-drive sedans.
Other than proving that Jaguar is hard at work developing this new model using a cobbled-together body, there are some details we can put together about this luxury CUV. For one it's about the same length as an XF, while the ride height is obviously taller and the tire track wider. We're not sure what the rig on top of this mule is for, but the whole car has us reminiscing about the old sedan versions of the Subaru Outback and the AMC Eagle (with a luxury spin, of course).
Jaguar launches new classic racing series
Fri, 14 Nov 2014One-make racing series have become all the rage for customers who want to actually race their exotic sports cars (or competition-spec versions of them, anyway). Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini and Aston Martin all offer such programs, and Porsche supports several. Now Jaguar is getting in on the action as well, but instead of turning one of its production models - we're looking at you, F-Type - into a spec racer, it's launching an historic racing series instead.
The 2015 Jaguar Heritage Challenge will be open to cars made by the Leaping Cat marque before 1966, including the C-Type, D-Type, E-Type and Mk I and MkII sedans. The series, which builds on the success of the previous Jaguar E-Type Challenge, will be administered by the Historic Sports Car Club (HSCC) based at Silverstone and will include four races in the UK and one in Europe, with the exact schedule still to be determined.
The program was announced at the launch of the Jaguar Heritage Driving Experience, where Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations director John Edwards was also named chairman of the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust, replacing former Jaguar managing director Mike O'Driscoll who chaired the organization for the past five years.
