1998 Jaguar Xk8 Base Coupe 2-door 4.0l Custom Wheels Black Loaded Leather Nice! on 2040-cars
Fort Dodge, Iowa, United States
Up for auction is a very nice 1998 Jaguar XK8 coupe. I have personally driven this car and can tell you first hand that it runs and drives great. The car is in excellent shape. The body is near perfect. No dings, dents or major scratches. The interior is equally impressive. The drivers seat is nice, and carpet is clean and stain free. The car has new 245/35R/20 tires mounted on chrome rims. The wheels and tires really set this car off. The wheels are in excellent shape, and the tires are new. The car features the 4.0 motor, and a Automatic transmission. It runs and drives just as it should. No problems or issue There are no service lights on, and everything works the way it should with the car. The air conditioning blows cold. The car is fully loaded, and all the options work. I guarantee this description to be accurate. Should you get here and feel this vehicle is NOT as described, I will happily refund your deposit and pay your fuel costs home. Its that simple. You don't like it.....You don't own it. Please call me with questions. 515-955-3399 dealership or 515-571-4401 cell phone. Ask for Jeff. Thanks for looking. |

2014 Jaguar F-Type
Wed, 17 Apr 2013Stepping Into The Lion's Den With A Big-Hearted Cat
If you're like me - and our demographics suggests you are - you've probably never seen a new Jaguar sportscar at your local showroom. I'm 36, and it hasn't happened in my lifetime... and not by a little bit. Oh, there have been a string of XK coupes and convertibles, and as of late, there have even been some genuine high-performance specials - namely the R, R-S and R-S GT models - but their basis has always been the 2+2 grand tourer shell, not a lighter and smaller footprint with more intrinsic sporting intent. The truth is that it's been a half-century since Jaguar introduced a proper new sportscar. Today, most people know the brand strictly as a purveyor of wood- and hide-lined luxury sedans.
In fact, if you're not an enthusiast with some appreciation for the marque's history, it's a bit odd to hear Jaguar executives proclaim that they are a sportscar company and always have been. By their reckoning, the 2014 F-Type seen here is in fact a return to form, a Rip Van Winkled brand pillar reanimated and reimagined to take center stage. It's a sentiment that must be particularly odd for car shoppers in developing markets like China, where Jaguar hasn't even been selling cars for very long. Yet because the original 1961 E-Type is perhaps the most gorgeous car ever to lay ply on the world's roads, we're prepared to cut them some slack.
Jaguar Project 7 Concept
Mon, 26 Aug 2013The Jaguar Project 7 Concept debuted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed just last month. But unlike most concepts, which serve only to collect fingerprints on a stage, the track-ready one-seater spent its days barreling past the hillclimb crowds with Mike Cross, chief engineer of vehicle integrity at Jaguar, beaming behind its right-hand-drive steering wheel. What's more, the powers that be at Jaguar even let yours truly drive the Project 7 during the Concurs d'Elegance festivities at Pebble Beach last week.
Built on an all-aluminum V8 F-Type chassis with modified suspension, the Project 7 (a name acknowledging Jaguar's seven Le Mans wins between 1951-1990) is best thought of as an F-Type masquerading as a D-Type. The two-door is fitted with a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 good for 550 horsepower (no pictures as Jaguar wouldn't allow us to open the hood). An eight-speed automatic, with a torque converter, sends the power the rear wheels, allowing the single-seat roadster to crack the 60-mph benchmark in just over four seconds.
Modifications to the bodywork include a new lowered windshield, carbon-fiber aerodynamics and a rear fairing with integrated rollover hoop. The driving position has also been lowered by more than an inch, allowing the sole occupant to not only escape the airflow, but take advantage of a lower center of gravity.
