1998 Jaguar Xk8 Base Convertible 2-door 4.0l Single Owner Az Car on 2040-cars
Phoenix, Arizona, United States
1998 Jaguar XK8 Convertible
Single owner and enthusiast owned car (sold a 1973 Type E last year here on eBay). Adult owned. Everything operates as it should. Top works without issue and comes with matching cover as well. Great condition for a 16 year old Jaguar. New battery (4/22/2014) The car was purchased new at Scottsdale Jaguar and was mostly a weekend vehicle (only ~6k miles per year). Spent the majority of the time parked underground. Single owner - straight body - great paint - great tires - everything works (top, antenna, etc) The only detriments would be as follows: tensioners have not been done - small leak (could be power steering, not certain) - bolster wear - could use bushings up front as it's noisy over bumps - rearview mirror is loose. Starts right up, runs great. I absolutely welcome any inspections locally (the car is currently under cover in my garage). I am also able to hold the vehicle for up to 30 days once payment has been made if you want to fly/drive out or arrange for transport. Reason for selling is that we've recently purchased a new Jeep Cherokee and no longer have room for all the toys. Ask any questions you may have as needed. $250 deposit within 24 hours (cashiers check/bank transfer/cash/Paypal), remaining balance within 5 days (cashiers check/bank transfer/cash). |

Jaguar C-X17 gets liquid metal finish for Dubai show [w/poll]
Sat, 09 Nov 2013We thought the C-X17 concept looked pretty good when Jaguar unveiled it in Frankfurt a couple of months ago. But that shade of blue, while nice enough, made it look like it shared more than a similar name with the Mazda CX-7. No, what a Jaguar needs is a more luxurious paint job than electric blue. And that's just what the British automaker has given its crossover concept in time for the Dubai Motor Show this week.
What we have here is the same C-X17, but repainted in what Jaguar calls "a lustrous Liquid Aluminum liquid metal finish," and we have but to agree. What do you think? Scope it out in the fresh batch of high-res images above and cast your vote in the poll below.

Jaguar Land Rover mulling factory in Georgia?
Sat, Feb 7 2015London's Sunday Times reported last October that Jaguar-Land Rover was sniffing around The South looking for a potential manufacturing site, and was "talking to several southern states." We imagine Georgia was one of them; The Peach State has Kia Motors Manufacturing in West Point, it claims Porsche HQ as a resident, and soon the Mercedes-Benz regional office, too. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has said that Governor Nathan Deal recently took the initiative to fly to the UK to "make prospect calls" with JLR executives about a deal. We don't have any details about the calls, but we'll guess that they involved Deal making a financial case for GA over other states while sipping a cup of tea. It's said that the English luxury maker wants to build a factory here with a 200,000-unit capacity, to take advantage of the same financial efficiencies that have planted other automakers in the US and Mexico; it opened a facility in China last year to build the Range Rover Evoque, Land Rover Discovery Sport, and the Jaguar XE, and is casting eyes over Brazilian and Saudi Arabian soil for other facilities. No timetable has been given for a decision. Jaguar-Land Rover builds millionth vehicle at Halewood
Fri, 29 Nov 2013Jaguar-Land Rover is not what you'd call a volume automaker by any stretch of the imagination. But in the dozen years since it started manufacturing at its Halewood plant near Liverpool, England, the automaker has already built its millionth vehicle.
The landmark vehicle is a Range Rover Evoque, done up in white with red roof and mirrors, black wheels and a red and black interior. The crossover is set to be donated to Cancer Research UK, which will auction it off next year to help fund its projects in the north-west of the country.
Halewood started manufacturing the Jaguar X-Type in 2001, then went on to assemble the Land Rover LR2 / Freelander 2 before taking on production of the Evoque a year and a half ago. The facility reached the 300,000-unit milestone just last year as production moved to a 24-hour cycle for the first time in either marque's history.
