I have for sale my 1997 Jaguar XK8. This vehicle has been in the family since 1999. I have a folder worth of receipts for this car. This car has a 4.0 V8 Engine, fully loaded with 6 cd changer, leather seats, wood grain dash, steering wheel, etc. If you are familiar with Jaguars then i dont need to explain the features.
Engine and Transmission: Car currently has 79862 miles and runs perfect. There are no knocks, ticks, smoking, pinging or anything that should not be there. Within the last few hundred miles I performed a lot of work on the car. I replaced eight (8) spark plugs, replaced eight (8) coil packs, replaced two (2) ignition modules, changed both valve cover gaskets, replaced intake filter, Amsoil 25w-50 Synthetic Oil Change, radiator flush, replaced the ABS Module, bled the entire brake system. Replaced speed sensors on the front wheels, along with an alignment. The car was always maintained and whatever services needed to be done were done. The jaguars are known to have dirty throttle bodys and this one was cleaned out. Exterior: As you can tell by the pictures, the jaguar is blue in color and in good shape for a 1997. The only flaw to the paint itself is on the top half of the passenger side door, the clear coat is starting to peel. The front bumper has a few spots where the clear is starting to peel (about the size of a quarter each). During Hurricane Sandy, a tree branch stuck the windshield and put a small rip in the convertible roughly 2 inches in length. I patched that up and replaced the windshield. I painted the hood, trim around convertable and passengerside fender due to the clear coat fading. The body has 2 small dings on the passengerside. Other than that the exterior is in good shape. Interior: Driverseat has a tear and some fading, the radio and climate control work but the display does not work. You can purchase replacements for under $200.00 on ebay. The steering wheel is swede is slightly faded and there is a small crack on the wood grain. I bled the convertible system and replaced the high pressure hose. Convertible works perfectly. The interior is clear except for the driver seat rip. The vehicle is a 1997 so some wear and tear is going to be present. Miscellaneous: -Vehicle has a new 1000 amp cold cranking amp battery (8 months old) -Vehicle has a new windshield -Vehicle has new wipers -The engine covers which sit over the spark plugs are secured in place with water proof silicone and some of the original tabs. Some of them broke off when I had the plugs and coils replaced. -The intake tube has a broken tab that connects to the throttle body so I used a nut with a larger washer to secure it down. Its been that was for roughly 10k miles with zero problems. Overall: Vehicle is a blast to drive and is fast! i'm an honest seller and want to disclose any known issues. I spend close to $4000.00 to get the vehicle mechanically sound. The car runs awesome! Since the mechanics and maintenance were done I wanted to focus on the interior but more important things came up in life and I need to put my money else where. Any questions please message me on eBay or call the number provided below. 201-913-5613 Call/Text. |

2018 Jaguar F-Pace: Heated windshield option may drive you crazy
Fri, Sep 29 2017Our long-term Jaguar F-Pace is stuffed full of options. It's the top-trim S model with the most powerful engine, and we selected five of seven available option packages. The two we didn't pick were the cheapest ones. There were a handful of individual options we selected, as well, and one of them, the heated windshield, is one that you should definitely think twice about before choosing. The reason being that, in this editor's opinion, it's thoroughly irritating. I actually didn't even know our F-Pace had it the first time I signed it out for an evening. At the end of the day, I grabbed the key, walked down to the parking lot and drove it away without a second thought. A couple miles down Woodward Avenue, though, I noticed that my view out wasn't quite as clear as I expected. I figured the windshield was dusty or something, so on went the windshield washer for a few moments. After everything dried off, I had the same issue. I pulled the washer lever again and still nothing. I leaned forward and squinted my eyes, and that's when I spotted the minuscule heater wires across the entire pane of glass. And once I saw the wires, it was almost impossible to unsee them. My unobstructed view out the car suddenly turned into a CRT screen full of scan lines. They never kept me from safely driving the F-Pace (after all, they are extremely small), but I could never completely forget they were there. It's incredibly frustrating and it gets worse at night as the wires combine with oncoming headlights. I'm not the only one who dislikes them either, as Senior Editor John Snyder and Contributing Editor James Riswick voiced their displeasure with the feature. Not everyone in the office feels this way about the heated windshield, though. Associate Editor Reese Counts said that they don't bother him one bit. And in cold weather climates like Michigan, it should be handy for clearing snow, ice and condensation from the windshield. With these differing opinions, then, this is an option that you'll definitely want to experience for yourself before actually choosing it. You might find it unobtrusive or you might find it insufferable. As for me, I don't think I could deal with having those wires in my face all year 'round. I would rather spend 10 percent of the year when we have accumulating snow and ice scraping it off manually so that the other 90 percent of the year I have a crystal clear view of the road.
Motor Trend pits Aston V12 Vantage S against Jaguar XKR-S GT in battle of the Brits
Fri, 20 Dec 2013With the recent increase in higher-performance versions of already high-performance vehicles, like Mercedes-Benz and its AMG Black Series, the public is now gaining even greater access to speed and maneuverability. Two of the most recent sports cars to get their wicks turned up include the Jaguar XKR-S GT and the Aston Martin V12 Vantage S.
Both of these cars are the pinnacles of their lines, with the Jag lording over the XKR-S, XKR and XK while the Aston rules over the standard V8 Vantage S and V8 Vantage. Motor Trend has opted to pit the two rivals together for some thorough testing, and it just happened to bring along a few video cameras to capture all the action.
There's nearly 19 minutes of super hot sports car action below, so scroll down and enjoy.
Chris Harris finds the Jaguar F-Type R Coupe rather drifty
Wed, 26 Mar 2014Our own Matt Davis may have called the new Jaguar F-Type R Coupe "one heady rascal," but our review was disappointingly short on drifting, tire smoke and general, English shenanigans. You know, the sort of things that Chris Harris from Drive excels at.
Actually, relative to Harris' other reviews, this one is rather serious. There's a good recap of the F-Type on the road, with Harris referencing the car's "great bottom" and "amazing ass," quite frequently. Surprisingly, Harris says the more powerful F-Type R is just "incrementally" faster than the 495-horsepower F-Type V8 S Convertible. Following the on-road portion, it's off to the track. You can probably predict what goes on there. Overall, aside from some quibbles, Harris has nothing but praise for the newest cat.
We've got the entire video available below. Scroll down, have a look and let us know what you think in Comments.
