1997 Jaguar XK-8 Convertible. 85k original and easy miles. White with tan interior and tan top. 4.0 liter V8 with automatic transmission and all standard factory options (air, Harmon Kardon stereo, etc.) Adult owned, never abused, well maintained. I am the second owner. Probably the nicest one in the area. Multiple time show winner at the local British car shows in its class over the past years. Excellent condition, only a few very minor paint chips as one would expect on any car, nothing that detracts from it at all. Perfect Interior, seats show no wear, dash not split or cracked. Perfect matching wood. Front bumper is excellent, not all scratched up underneath like you see on many of these cars. Top works great, takes the factory standard 20 seconds to raise or lower in warm weather. Tires, brakes, etc. all good. Runs and shifts great. Factory alloy wheels, no aftermarket junk on the vehicle. All glass is perfect. Only selling to thin my collection a bit. Very nice cruising and show car with no issues. Clean Title and CarFax, you can check by typing the VIN in. All owners manuals, keys, and docs present. I replaced the timing chain tensioners when I purchased the car with the new design ones as preventative maintenance. If you do not know, the original tensioner design had a plastic case that became brittle with age and engine heat, leading to tensioner failure and the corresponding valves hitting the pistons, etc.. The new design tensioner is all metal to prevent this from happening. No Nikasil issues either, only good quality gas used in the car. If you are looking at another of these cars, ask the owner if they did the tensioners, or the dealer if they know the past history. Chances are they didn't or do not know what you are talking about… Please contact me with any questions on the vehicle. This car books thru NADA for between $7000 and $9600. I am not a dealer or car flipper, but the NADA book is what is most commonly used to price and appraise, so that is what I will go by. Honest price for a very nice car. A deposit of $500 must be paid within 24 hours of the close of the auction thru PayPal. The remaining balance must be paid within 3 days. Editors' Choice: Top Five 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show Debuts
Thu, Sep 17 2015Consider the 2015-16 auto show season officially kicked off. The Frankfurt Motor Show offered a great look at the newest crop of production cars and conceptual machines, and brought some old favorites back into the spotlight for a closer look. (The Alfa Romeo Giulia, for example, debuted in June, but this was the first time most of us saw it.) Now that the dust has settled and we're all on flights back to the US, our editors cast their votes for their personal favorites from the Frankfurt show. These are the cars we truly loved seeing the most. But unlike other shows, there was no one runaway winner – all of the Top Five received positive praise from our team. We won't spoil the results, though. Scroll down to see what we liked most from this year's Frankfurt expo. 5th Place – MERCEDES-BENZ IAA CONCEPT View 12 Photos MIKE AUSTIN: The clean lines on this concept have me excited for a more elegant beauty to future Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Next to the Concept IAA, the lovely S-Class Coupe looks like an overstyled barge. DAVID GLUCKMAN: Yeah, the extendable rear is neat and all, but I'm more interested in the front-end styling of this one. It looks like the Tron version of a 300SL, in a good way. I'm hopeful it portends the future of Mercedes design. STEVEN EWING: I was super impressed when Mercedes said that, with the rear end extended, this concept has a drag coefficient of just 0.19. That's crazy aerodynamic. I'm not head-over-heels about the styling, but I think the lessons learned from this concept are really important, and will play a huge role in the future of Mercedes' products. 4th Place – ALFA ROMEO GIULIA View 15 Photos SEYTH MIERSMA: I can hardly express how in love with this car I am. The styling feels creative, modern, and evocative, without going over the top. The proposed performance is spectacular. And the Alfa badge speaks to a legacy of romantic motoring. DAVID GLUCKMAN: Pretty Italian car makes big promises and will probably deliver on about three quarters of them. I think that will still be enough for me. JEREMY KORZENIEWSKI: I'm really intrigued by the Giulia. It looks great, sounds awesome, and I'm expecting it to have a load more character than its German rivals. I hope I'm not disappointed. 3rd Place – JAGUAR F-PACE View 15 Photos GREG MIGLIORE: It's the first SUV for Jaguar, and I think they nailed the design, capability, and electronics. It's the right car at the right time.

Jaguar Land Rover's all-new InControl system is set to get a big bump as the British company will add a new service called JustDrive, which expands on the smartphone-focused infotainment system by adding a singular voice controller for a wide array of the system's currently available apps.

Tue, 26 Aug 2014From 1927 to 1957, the Mille Miglia was one of the great, romantic European road races of the golden era of motorsports. The cars were fast, beautiful and loud but also extremely dangerous and regularly claimed drivers' lives. After two fatal accidents in '57, the event finally had to reform and came back in 1977 as a historic rally held over the course of several days. That didn't make things boring, though, and Xcar found that out firsthand with a front-row seat to this year's race in a 2015 Jaguar F-Type R Coupe.
Xcar was actually following the Jaguar team this year that included Ian Callum and Jay Leno in an XK120, which we previously got a glimpse of when it was covered on Jay Leno's Garage. Where Leno focuses on a more personal story of competing, this one takes a more macro view. You really get an idea of how crazy the Mille Miglia still is, and while the F-Type is way too new to actually compete in the rally, it can still wear an event sticker and drive with the vintage racers.
One amazing fact about today's Mille Miglia is that if you're competing in the event, there are basically no rules. The roads are technically still open to traffic, but the police shut down intersections and provide a rolling roadblock. Xcar's F-Type alternated between following on the course with the classics and snipping off chunks of the route to watch the participants arrive at each stop.
