Check out the video Click on arrow to go to full screen. 1955 Jaguar XK-140 First before describing this fabulous Jaguar XK-140 Roadster, MissChiTown would like to give a little of its philosophy on post war European sports car collecting. Many collectors have found that while the pre-war cars are very attractive in their styling and design, the idea of driving them on modern roads and highways is cumbersome and sometimes dangerous. Many of these collectors have turned to post-war sports cars, as they are the beginning of the standard of meeting modern road speeds, handling and stopping requirements. The XK-140 Jaguar roadster in this ad is not only visually voted
one of the ten most beautiful European post-war sports cars ever designed but
it has also been upgraded by its owner so that it is a full, reliable,
comfortable and dependable tour car with such improvements as an upgraded
larger Jaguar 3.8 liter 220 bhp Jaguar MII engine. Upgraded bucket leather seats (a Jaguar
option). A fabulous paint job in
one of the most striking colors, Ecurie Ecosse (Scottish Flag Blue) a Jaguar
LeMans racing color. Yes this is a car that has it all – design, road capabilities and charisma. While this car looks like a first place winner and the upgrades are improvements for modern and fast highway speeds in a very comfortable manner. The seller has provided the following description of the 1955 Jaguar XK-140 Roadster in detail and we suggest that you also view the video to get a flavor of just how attractive this Jaguar roadster is to the eye of the beholder. The seller has told us that the car has been upgraded with a Jaguar 3.8 liter 220 bhp Jaguar MII engine and is a strong engine with excellent oil pressure. There are 67,350 miles showing on odometer - actual unknown. The seller has told us that this is a fun driver and he enjoys winning awards with the car at the British Car Club shows. Original Body, Chassis & Gearbox. Original 4-speed transmission. IMPROVEMENTS MADE OVER THE PAST

Jaguar J-Pace crossover spied with diesel hybrid power
Thu, Jun 9 2016The new Jaguar F-Pace is only now hitting dealerships, but the British automaker is already testing a bigger, higher-end example. Allegedly named J-Pace – tying it to the flagship XJ sedan the same way the F-Pace is to the XF (so expect an E-Pace before too long) – Jaguar's engineers stretched the wheelbase and cobbled together a big CUV from an F-Pace's body parts. The biggest giveaway is on the rear door's cutline. A normal F-Pace's shut line runs right into the middle of the rear wheel arch. But on this mule, the door closes well forward of the arch. Outside the axles, Jag has stretched the front overhang – it's far more prominent with a completely different lower intake – and the super-short rear overhang reinforces the idea that we're seeing a longer platform. While we know the wheelbase is longer than the normal F-Pace, the platform underpinning this mule could go one of three ways. First, in what would probably be the most cost-effective route, Jaguar could simply stretch the chassis underpinning the F-Pace. Second, Jag could mine the Land Rover parts bin for a fullsize platform, perhaps from the Range Rover. It's not a crazy idea, and would open the J-Pace to a more potent line of powertrains – hello 5.0-liter, supercharged V8. Finally, the J-Pace could borrow its platform from the XJ sedan. One reason this mule could be riding on a Land Rover platform is because of its powertrain. According to the vehicle lookup on the British Ministry of Transport's website – see the final slide in our gallery above – the mule's number plates belong to a vehicle with a 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine and an electric motor, a diesel hybrid. The fullsize Range Rover is available in such a configuration outside the US, but it uses a 3.0-liter V6. Clearly, the J-Pace is still very early in its development process. That means we shouldn't count on seeing a production-ready vehicle for quite some time. Our spies point to a 2019 debut as a 2020 model. We'll just have to wait and see. Jaguar practiced the E-Pace barrel roll - wait, how do you practice a barrel roll?
Tue, Jul 25 2017Jaguar launched the E-Pace compact crossover by literally launching it into a barrel roll. But to get to the point where the company could do the stunt in front of the press naturally took plenty of preparation and planning, and the company documented much of it in the video above. It turns out that the early stages of preparing the stunt are about as entertaining as the stunt itself. The video spends a little time showing some of the computer modeling and designing of the stunt, but most of the video covers the practice runs done with a test car. Jaguar set up its prototype offset ramp for initiating the roll, and had a massive airbag set up for the test car to land in. And early on, to make sure the stunt driver wasn't hurt, they rigged up a Land Rover Evoque with autonomous driving equipment to do the first runs. Later the stunt driver took a few turns. The testing resulted in flips and tumbles you've only seen with Hot Wheels cars. It's so strange and fun to see a full-size car launched this way. Once the team finally had the jump pretty well dialed in, the stunt driver was able to test it launching from ramp to ramp, and then eventually do it in the production E-Pace at the crossover's reveal. Xcar experiences the 2015 Mille Miglia from a Jaguar C-Type
Fri, Jun 12 2015Xcar Films has returned to the Mille Miglia this year for another trip from Brescia to Rome and back. However, unlike the last survey of the historic rally from the comfy seat of a Jaguar F-Type, it did things properly in 2015 with a first-person look at the entire event from a somewhat temperamental Jaguar C-Type. As you'd expect, you get to check out 1,000 miles of beautiful Italian roads and similarly gorgeous vintage sports cars, but the reporting here is great, too. Alex Goy alternates between navigating and learning to drive the C-Type with its tricky gearbox over the four-day rally, and he narrates the entire video, as well. From what we can tell, participating in the Mille Miglia is essentially a license to break every law of the road imaginable. The police not only allow this to happen; they encourage it. Goy does a fantastic job of giving viewers an idea of what's it like to take part in the historic event. Being in a 50-year-old racecar for that long looks absolutely exhausting but also completely worth it.
