Hello, What you are looking at here today is the last of the Jaguar XJSs. It is a 1996, with the really dependable 4.0 liter 6 cyl, fuel injected engine. I believe, the best engine Jaguar ever built. This is and has been a southern car, from Georgia. It has never seen salt. The body is beautiful and dent free. I won't bore you with a blog about how these last XJSs are really starting to be sought after all over the World. I'm sure you read the car magazines like I do. But I will say, "I know these cars" and this is a good one. Firstly, the AC is ice cold. I just spent $1200 having blower fan replaced and expansion valve plus charging. The kick downs work and the face level vents operate exactly as they should. The Top works flawlessly and all windows go up and down as they should. Everything works on this car and it drives great. I can't see it needs anything.....I just have about 30 cars and am really tight for space. We have a large handicap van factory in Atlanta area and my sons pretty much run the day to day so Dad is left free to play at his 45 year British car addiction. (I'm on a 12 step program, but it is not working). I bought this car last Feb from our local Lexus dealership where they are so stupid that they told me the top didn't work. They didn't know you had to pull up the emergency brake lever first...so they wholesaled it to me..The car also had a bad exhaust leak. (The joiner box for the 2 down pipes was broken) We replaced the exhaust header and the car is pretty much perfect. Even the little plastic levers on the seat back releases are still there. Anyway, it is a no excuse car. Body is beautiful, it has been repainted once (as British paint doesn't fare too well in Atlanta heat), but nice job. Interior is really nice and soft. Tires, brakes, suspension all is fine and ready to drive car home to anywhere. I usually do an auction format but I will not waste your or my time...You might be able to find and XJS alittle cheaper, but they all have the same issues that this one has had sorted out....,..so $11,000 buys it. I have 2 other XJSs I would rather sell than this one but am buried in both of them, so.... Please look at my feedback. You will see I am a serious car guy and will tell you the truth about my cars. I appreciate your looking and will answer any questions right away..   Bob

Jaguar lifts the tailgate on XFR-S Sportbrake

Tue, 25 Feb 2014

In the market for an amped-up Jaguar? Look for the letter R, adorning such performance models as the XFR and XJR sedans, the XKR coupe and convertible and the new F-Type R. But if it's bonkers performance you're after, you'll want to add the letter S into the mix as well. Jaguar uses the letters to connote its most hard-core performance variants like the two-door XKR-S and four-door XFR-S. And now it's applied them to the XF wagon as well, skipping the R treatment and going straight for the new XFR-S Sportbrake.
Leaked just the other day and headed for the Geneva Motor Show, Jaguar has now revealed its new power wagon in full. The XFR-S Sportbrake packs Coventry's ubiquitous 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine boasting 542 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque. That's the same version that powers the XKR-S and XFR-S sedan (not to mention the F-Type R and XJR), and drives the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic to rocket the estate to 60 in 4.6 seconds and on to an electronically limited top speed of 186 miles per hour.
That may be pretty quick, but doesn't quite stack up to the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S-Model 4Matic Estate whose 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 offers up 577 hp and 590 lb-ft for a 3.6-second 0-60 time, or to the Audi RS6 Avant whose 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 churns out 552 hp and 516 lb-ft for a 3.9-second 0-62 sprint. Though the Jaguar is only a little behind in output, it's a good second slower where it's measured. Granted that the Benz and the Audi are both all-wheel-drive where the Jaguar powers the rear only, but if four-wheel traction is how you get the power to the road, we wonder why Jaguar wouldn't fall in line. Particularly when the Jag's starting price in the UK (don't expect to see it imported here) is quoted at £82,495 - several grand more than the £76,985 RS6 but just shy of the £85,880 Mercedes gets for the E63 S-Model wagon in the UK (where the less potent 'base' version is also available as the cheapest in the bunch at £75,885).

Can a Jaguar XKR-S be drifted while blindfolded?

Thu, 27 Dec 2012

Bring together a 550-horsepower Jaguar XKR-S and a rain-soaked skidpad, and it's almost impossible to not end up in a sideways drift... accidental or on purpose. With that in mind, the gang over at Autocar got a hold of the monstrous XKR-S for the latest installment of "Will it Drift?," only they raised the stakes a little by attempting the feat with a blindfolded driver
We've driven the XKR-S a number of times here at Autoblog (including a First Drive, Review and Quick Spin), so we weren't at all surprised to learn that blind drifting in the car is possible. But what is remarkable is the ease at which it happened. This, of course, can be credited as much to the car as to the driver, Steve Sutcliffe. Check out the impressive video for yourself, which is posted after the jump.

This Jaguar XK120 costs $20,000, but there's a catch

Fri, Feb 26 2016

You read that correctly. This Jaguar XK120 costs $20,000. Sounds like a steal, right? There's a catch. It's 1:5 scale. But if you're looking for perhaps the most bespoke riff on a Power Wheels ever, this could be your new toy. Offered by gift-specialist Hammacher Schlemmer, this diminutive Jag is faithful to the original with its swoopy appearance fronted by a narrow, vertical grille. There's a bit of a power drop, as this XK comes with a 110-cc four-stroke engine that can top out at 38 miles per hour. The 1949 model came with a 3,442-cc six-cylinder that made as much as 180 hp from the factory. This toy car has an aluminum hull, steel box chassis, wishbone suspension, and gas shocks, according to the listing. It rolls on 10-inch aluminum wheels and has hydraulic brakes with Brembo, yes Brembo, discs. The inside has padded leather and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. The car shown is silver – but Hammacher Schlemmer notes that it's available in British Racing Green – or any color you like. Obviously you're not hurting for cash if you have 20 grand to drop on a toy, but it is economical compared to real-life 1949 XK120. The car collecting and insurance gurus at Hagerty say an original is worth $475,000 in concours condition. Hagerty notes this Jag is significant for its design that channels the prewar BMW 328. The starting price was $3,940 in the United States when it was new. Related Video:
