Stunning, Flamenco Red V-12 Jaguar with Cream leather interior with cranberry red piping on the seats and doors. All stiching is in double cranberry red. This is the only year for this special color piping/stiching. My car has only 6,800 miles on it and it is as close to a new car that you can get. With only 1030 made this is probably the finest in existence. It has won many awards including JCNA Judged Concours First Place award and Peoples Choice award. Note they (Jaguar/Ford from 1988) greatly improved the V-12 Engine and introduced it in 1993 through 1995, by far the most desirable and reliable,powerful V-12 Jaguar ever made in XJS's. Always stored in a climatized garage. Paint and chrome are not good they are PERFECT!!! It has all options including the factory CD player. Yes the leather boot has the cranberry color piping. I have the original window sticker and the original price was $85,000. Ian Callum, Brian Johnson and Lord March pick 10 top Jaguars
Thu, 11 Sep 2014An automaker with as rich a heritage as Jaguar is bound to create a few experts along the way... and some divergent opinions, too. So on the eve of the debut of the new XE, Jaguar brought together three experts to whittle down the long list of classic Leaping Cats to just ten.
For this gargantuan task, it brought in Ian Callum (who, as the company's chief designer, knows a thing or two about Jaguars), Lord Charles Henry Gordon-Lennox (the Earl of March and founder of the Goodwood Revival) and Brian Johnson - who may be better known as the frontman of AC/DC, but also a classic car enthusiast, collector and racer in his own right.
So what did the designer, the nobleman and the celebrity choose? The SS100, XK120 (namely number NUB 120), the C-Type that competed at the 1953 Mille Miglia, the D-Type that won at Reims, the Mk II sedan, the E-Type that served as the Geneva show car, the one and only XJ13, company founder Sir William Lyons' personal XJ6 S1, the TWR XJS touring car and the 1988 Le Mans-winning XJR-9.
Jaguar Land Rover building new R&D center for hybrids, EVs, autonomous cars
Wed, 25 Sep 2013The success of Jaguar Land Rover in recent years has largely been down to a resurgent product lineup, but a recent move into the research and development will see the British-based, Indian-owned brands take the fight to its German rivals more aggressively than ever before.
JLR is investing 50 million pounds ($80,345,000, as of this writing) in a joint R&D center in central England. The move will more than triple its staff dedicated to research, from 150 to 500, with Wolfgang Epple, JLR's Director of Research and Technology telling Automotive News Europe, "In order to play among the big animals in automotive and to be anchored in the mind of customers you have to have offered something unique, to be first in market. We want to be one of the key premier automotive manufacturers."
Jaguar Land Rover's 50-million-pound contribution represents more than half of the 94-million-pound tab, on the so-called National Automotive Innovation Campus. Based at Warwick University, Tata's European Technical Center, Warwick Manufacturing Group and the Higher Education Funding Council, an agency of the British government, are all chipping in for the facility.
