VERY PRETTY CAR!

I BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM A DEALER WHO HAD PURCHASED THIS CAR FROM THE LAST OWNER THAT HAD IT SINCE 1998.
HE KEPT THIS CAR GARAGED AND METICULOUSLY MAINTAINED.

WHEN IT ARRIVED, I DROVE IT TO THE LOCAL JAGUAR DEALER AND ASK THEM TO GO OVER IT COMPLETELY.
THEY DID AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG, SO I ASKED THEM TO CHANGE ALL THE FLUIDS AND PLUGS, GIVING IT A MAJOR TUNE-UP AS I WANTED TO DRIVE IT DAILY.

THE DEALER/SERVICE DEPT CONTINUED TO TELL ME THAT THEY WERE AMAZED AT HOW CLEAN THE CAR WAS IN AND OUT AND THAT THE UNDERCARRIAGE
AND ENGINE COMPARTMENT LOOKED LIKE IT HAD NEVER BEEN OUT DURING ANYTHING OTHER THAN A CLEAR, SUNNY DAY.

AND YOU WILL AGREE, IT IS THAT CLEAN!

THE WOOD IN THIS CAR IS PERFECT WITH NO CRACKS, NO CHIPPING AND NO SIGNS OF DE-LAMINATION. VERY CLEAN.
THE HEADLINER LOOKS LIKE IT MAY HAVE BEEN REPLACED, AS IT SHOWS LIKE NEW. THE FACTORY COFFEE COLORED LEATHER SEATS FRONT AND BACK ARE
IN VERY NICE CONDITION SHOWING ONLY MINOR WEAR. ALL THE GAUGES AND, SWITCHES AND ELECTRONICS WORK  AS NEW, EVEN THE POWER ANTENNA WORKS
AS IT SHOULD. THE CAR IS ALSO EQUIPPED WITH A 6 CD CHANGER IN THE TRUNK THAT WORKS PERFECTLY. THE ONLY THING I HAVE FOUND THAT DOESN'T WORK
CONSISTENTLY IS THE CLOCK. IT SEEMS TO WORK WHEN IT WANTS TO...

MECHANICALLY THIS BURGANDY BEAUTY RUNS OUT LIKE A CHAMP.
THE INLINE 6 CYL HAS PLENTY OF PEP AND GREAT ON GAS. I DRIVE MAINLY IN SPORT MODE, WHICH SEEMS TO REALLY GIVE IT ZIP.
THESE ENGINE WERE KNOWN TO BE WORK HORSES AND TO DO WELL OVER 200K MILES WITH EASE, SO WITH JUST 73K VERY CLEAN MILES YOU WOULD HAVE A LOT OF TROUBLE FREE MILE AHEAD OF YOU IN THIS BEAUTIFUL RIDE...
TIRES HAVE MORE THAN 90% TREAD AND FEEL VERY SMOOTH AT ALL SPEEDS, LOCALLY AND ON THE HWY.

OVERALL CONDITION OF EXTERIOR IS EXCELLENT WITH ONLY A FEW MINOR CHIPS AND DINGS AS WOULD BE EXPECTED FOR ITS AGE.

THE MOST COMMON THING I HEAR WHEN I AM OUT IN THE HONEY OF A RIDE IS "MAN, NICE JAG"

THE CAR IS BEING SOLD AS-IS WHERE-IS WITH NO WARRANTY EITHER IMPLIED OR EXPRESSED, I AM HOPING ONE OF MY OTHERS WILL SELL SO THAT I CAN
KEEP THIS ONE AS MY DAILY DRIVER(IF TRUTH BE KNOWN)
BUT I WILL SELL IT FOR WHAT I HAVE IN IT WHICH IS THE BUY IT NOW PRICE, I WILL POSSIBLY ACCEPT BEST OFFER IS CLOSE TO ASKING...
I AM SELLING WHICHEVER I CAN 1ST AS I AM LOSING MY STORAGE.

TRANSPORT IS RESPONSIBILITY OF BUYER.

THANKS FOR LOOKING!

Petrolicious examines a very special Jaguar C-Type

Wed, Jul 8 2015

There are rare Jaguars, and then there's this stunning C-Type Lightweight Le Mans. Built in response to the dominance of the Mercedes-Benz 300SL at the 1952 24 Hours of Le Mans, Jaguar made only three C-Types for 1953 and managed to capture first, second, and fourth. These cars featured four-wheel disc brakes – a rarity at the time even in endurance racing – and a lighter aluminum body. The two SU carburetors were swapped out for three Webers, meaning more power and, according to RM Sotheby's David Swig, better throttle response. Swig would know. In the latest video from Petrolicious, he takes the fourth-place C-Type for a ride, giving us a look at the sleek open-roof racer in action, while our ears enjoy the delicious sound of the 3.4-liter, twin-cam straight-six. "What I love about these cars is how communicative they are on the road," Swig told Petrolicious. "How when you're going through a corner, you feel in the seat of your pants and through the steering wheel every little movement, every little pebble that you drive over." Beyond the driving experience, there's something to be said of the historical seat Swig is occupying. "No less than five Le Mans-winning drivers of this period have sat behind the wheel of this car," Swig said, "which almost give you goosebumps." Should you have the money, you can actually put this iconic racing Jaguar in your garage. RM Sotheby's will offer it for auction as part of its glitzy Monterey Car Week event next month. While you can look forward to our coverage of that event come August, you can enjoy the sight and sound of this iconic C-Type in the latest episode from Petrolicious.

2018 Jaguar XJR575 First Drive Review | Everyone loves an underdog, right?

Wed, Nov 15 2017

The number is right there, nestled smack in the middle against the windshield in red: 575. In case you missed it, there are another four red 575s stitched into the seat backs. You might excuse Jaguar for the numerical ostentation, but with manufacturers taking the horsepower arms race nuclear, the 6-year-old XJR sure could use a hook. What better way to stand out than an engine output humblebrag? The $122,400 Jaguar XJR575 gains 25 horsepower for 2018 thanks to software recalibration, which helps scoot the 17-foot-long four-door to 60 mph in a claimed 4.2 seconds. I'm gunning the XJR575 along the mountainous passes near the Alvao Natural Park in northern Portugal to find out whether the upgrade is enough to keep this underdog relevant in the fevered pitch of the high-dollar sedan market. Glance at the Jag in profile, and you might doubt its athleticism. Though nearly identical in length to a long-wheelbase BMW 7-Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class (and 1.8 inches shorter than the Audi A8L), the XJR575's sloping rear window and rounder styling lend it a somewhat lazier, more lavish appearance. It's also long in the tooth, this design having been first introduced in 2009, but it wears its age surprisingly well. Frankly, you just don't see XJ-series Jags as often as their strong-selling competitors, and that keeps them looking fresher, somehow. In contrast, the Germans have kept their exterior lines purposeful and contemporary looking, with more frequent redesigns furthering their cause. Climb inside, and the XJR's premium trim lends a bit more modernity to the familiar cabin. For starters, the diamond-quilted and perforated leather seats offer solid support, but they might be a bit firm for long hauls. Unlike other XJs, the XJR and R-Sport trims don't offer a massaging feature, an unfortunate sacrifice that is available on most, if not all, of the competitive set. The rear quarters do, however, offer enough legroom for serious stretching out. Tall swaths of carbon fiber trim the door panels while another thin rim of carbon extends around the dashboard, a design shorthand for sportiness despite the fact that the XJR is only available stateside in long-wheelbase form. An Alcantara headliner aids the high-end argument. A few aging elements show cracks in the facade, among them the ungainly seams at the dashboard's center and switchgear that's grown more than a bit long in the tooth.

Cars with the worst resale value in 2022

Thu, Nov 10 2022

Car values are all over the map right now. Used vehicles that were worth a small fortune earlier this year are now coming back to Earth, but the new vehicle supply remains tight. Prices are still elevated overall, but some models have seen more severe price drops. Depreciation strikes almost every model, supply constraint or not, though a few vehicles are leading the way. New research from analytics iSeeCars found that a handful of cars depreciated more than 50 percent over five years, with the BMW 7 Series dropping 56.9 percent and an average price cut of $61,923 over that time. The vehicles with the highest depreciation — or worst resale value — over five years: BMW 7 Series: -56.9% Maserati Ghibli: -56.3% Jaguar XF: -54% Infiniti QX80: -52.6% Cadillac Escalade ESV: 52.3% Mercedes-Benz S-Class: 51.9% Lincoln Navigator: -51.9% Audi A6: -51.5% Volvo S90: -51.4% Ford Expedition: -50.7% iSeeCarsÂ’ research showed that midsize trucks, sports cars, and fuel-efficient vehicles were slowest to depreciate over five years, while itÂ’s clear that luxury brands tend to lose value much faster. As iSeeCarsÂ’ Executive Analyst Karl Brauer explained, used buyers donÂ’t value high-end vehiclesÂ’ features as much as the first owners, so resale values tend to be softer. The tech and options that made the cars so expensive and appealing new donÂ’t add the same value on the used market. Read more: Cars with the best resale value Interestingly, electric vehicles also depreciated quite heavily, though they were just short of the abysmal numbers in luxury segments. The Nissan Leaf depreciated most among EVs, dropping by 49.1 percent. The average EV depreciation is 44.2 percent, with the Tesla Model S and Model X sliding in right under the bar at 43.7 and 38.8 percent, respectively. As iSeeCars notes, itÂ’s important to be vigilant when car shopping and not let your emotions win over reason. Shiny new luxury cars look great in the showroom, but you could end up taking a bath when you try selling them a few years later on.
