1995 Jaguar Xjs Base Convertible 2-door 4.0l on 2040-cars
Lutherville-Timonium, Maryland, United States
This is a 1995 Jaguar XJS Convertible in beautiful condition. It is a rare and great shade of light green with a contrasting putty color interior. The car had been garage kept its entire life, and drives like a dream. The car was Maryland State Inspected less then 1000 miles ago, and will pass Maryland standards without any issues, I am happy to update inspection if helpful. The engine is very strong and runs like new, the same is true for the transmission. Although it may be hard to believe but there are no leaks of any kind. The paint is original and the finish is wonderful. There are not dents or scratches on the body, and the interior is beautiful with no cracks in the dash or damage to wood grain etc. This only item on interior finishes is that the drivers seat has some crazing in the leather which is very typical for it's age, however there are no rips or foam exposed on the seat. The rest of the leather is wonderful. I took all the photos outside on a very sunny day so that you can truly see the condition of the car. It's amazing how you can really hide flaws when a car is photographed in a warehouse. The tires are Perelli and have plenty of tread life, more then 60 percent left on them. All systems with the exception of the clock work as they should, windows, heat and air, horn, electric seats, radio, cd changer etc. The convertible top works perfectly, and is a canvas top in perfect condition. The car is a great show piece or daily driver and has incredibly low mileage for it's age, and has been well maintained and pampered all it's life. I have both sets of keys and key fobs, along with manuals, roadside equipment and spare tire and wheel to match car. Overall this car is stunning and I have rarely seen one anywhere near this age in the shape that this one is in, it shines and drives close to a car half it's age. Please let me know if you have any questions. |

Jaguar planning two bodystyles for next XJ
Wed, 17 Apr 2013As we alluded to in today's F-Type first drive, Jaguar hasn't been selling its wares in China for very long, and as a result, buyers there usually don't have the same appreciation for the brand's history. So you might reasonably think that the company's recent radical styling shift (kicked off by the 2008 XF) wouldn't be as jarring to the nation's buying populace since they really didn't have the automaker's more traditionally styled models from years past to compare them against.
Yet while Jaguar and its sister marque, Land Rover, continue to pick up steam in China's developing market, that apparently isn't necessarily the case. Local buyers there tend to have more conservative tastes when it comes to styling, preferring more upright dimensions, big back seats and larger quantities of traditional luxury materials (think: chrome and wood) than other markets currently find desirable. Thus, the very bold current-generation XJ sedan may be leaving some sales on the table.
According to Edmunds, Jag doesn't want to risk that, and as such, it is preparing two bodystyles for the next-generation XJ - one with the rakish coupe-like styling of the current model, and a more "old-school" three-box sedan designed to appeal to a wider swath of Chinese buyers.
2015 Jaguar F-Type Coupe is a seriously pretty kitty
Wed, 20 Nov 2013The F-Type roadster is a beautiful car, but if we're honest, the coupe might be even more so. The hard top creates a smooth, uninterrupted line from the windshield all the way back to the rear of the car, the kinked-up rear-quarter windows are a nice touch and, overall, the design looks more organic than the roadster.
With the coupe's introduction also comes a new engine in the F-Type lineup, the 550-horsepower 5.0-liter supercharged V8 found in the XFR-S and XKR-S, and it's fitted to the top model, the F-Type R Coupe. The 495-hp mill in the V8 S roadster won't be an option in the coupe, however, but we're okay with that because Jaguar claims the 550-hp variant will scoot to 60 mph in just four seconds. Jaguar also will offer the base F-Type Coupe, with a 340-hp 3.0-liter supercharged V6, and the F-Type S Coupe, which has the same engine tuned to 380 hp. The base and mid-level models are quite quick, and can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 5.1 and 4.8 seconds, respectively.
The F-Type Coupe is priced starting from $65,000, the S Coupe adds $12,000 and the R Coupe starts at $99,000 (prices don't include $895 destination fee). For more F-Type Coupe info, check out our previous post on it, or head on below to read the press release.
Jaguar F-Type Coupe spotted testing
Thu, 09 May 2013The automotive world has been hot on fire with the Jaguar F-Type of late. We're still recovering from the excitement of driving Jaguar's new sports car for the first time, and recently we had a predictive look at a coupe version. As it turns out, those 'patent sketches' were just a warm up for the real deal F-Type Coupe, as this brand new set of spy images proves out.
Word from our shooter is that security around the F coupe was and is really tight. The photographer had to hide in the cargo area of his clandestine SUV, just to catch these few, not-perfectly-clear images (that odd color your see is window tint). Still, the photos are good enough to see that the rakish silhouette of the hardtop is going to do justice to the convertible. In fact, the new top seems to flow quite perfectly into the car's rear haunches.
Expect that the F-Type Coupe will share an engine lineup with the roadster, meaning both a naturally aspirated and a supercharged V6, as well as a V8 option. Hot R and R-S versions of the Jaguar coupe are a virtual lock, too, though how far down the product pipeline they are is unclear.
