1995 Jaguar XJS 2+2 Convertible

4.0L (AJ6) Inline-6 motor

4-speed ZF automatic transmission

Sand exterior color (Jaguar color “Topaz Metallic”) with complimentary light beige interior and light brown convertible top.

This was a Florida (Palm Beach) car that was brought to Maryland last January.  Very solid example, no corrosion, rust, or rot of any kind.

Has been updated in the last year by meticulous owner with the following new items/services:

(4) Michelin MXV4 V-rated radials in the correct size

(6) shocks/struts (rear suspension 4 shocks total)

(4) brake rotors and all new brake pads

Service all brake calipers

Flushed brake system

New brake accumulator

Rear subframe mounts

Coolant system fully serviced/flushed with new thermostat

New power top hydraulic fluid

New differential fluid and limited-slip additive

Oil changes as needed

In addition to the these specific service items, the car was thoroughly reviewed by Topline Jaguar, a noted Washington, DC area Jaguar-only specialist.  They commented that this car is the tightest-driving, and one of the cleanest XJS’s they have seen in years.  There is none of the normal corrosion and other blemishes usually found on Mid-Atlantic area cars.  It’s just as clean underneath and under the hood as it is on the outside.

I have driven this car several thousand miles, much of that on the open highway at speed.   It drives tight, strong, and as designed.  Extremely comfortable and terrific for trips short and long.

While not cosmetically perfect, the car is stunning nonetheless.  There are no major cosmetic flaws, just some evidence of 18 years of gentle use.

All power accessories work as designed, including windows, mirrors, seats, power top, factory Alpine stereo and CD changer, cruise control, Jaguar alarm system with key fob, etc.

Car is garaged on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.  Serious inquiries welcome.

Jaguar F-Type Project 7 leaks in production trim ahead of Goodwood debut

Tue, 24 Jun 2014

Just yesterday we brought you word that Jaguar was planning to bring something special to the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year - the first product of its Special Operations division - and now we have it right here.
Previewed in concept form last year, Jaguar's big reveal appears to be the production version of the Project 7 show car - an extreme speedster version of the F-Type. Though we still don't have official details, these images leaked courtesy of 4WheelsNews show that the roadster seems to have lost little in the transition from concept to reality.
The bright blue paint job has been replaced by a more British shade of green, but the white trim - including the racing stripes running across (not up) the hood, the grille surround and the number circle on the door - appear to have carried over. As has the D-Type-inspired, fin-like, single raised cowling on the rear deck, though now positioned behind the left-hand driver's seat instead of the right. The wheels are fresh and the front lip spoiler looks even bigger, and the rear wing appears to have been reshaped.

Road & Track names its 2013 Performance Car of the Year

Thu, 14 Nov 2013

Road & Track recently staged its first annual Performance Car of the Year test, pitting 13 new and updated performance cars against each other on track, then graduating the top six to a road test before picking a winner. Additionally, the magazine staff picked the best automobiles of the year in eight categories.
But first, let's cover the PCotY segment. Here's the list of cars brought to the comparison test: Audi R8 V10 Plus; BMW 435i; BMW M6 Competition Package; Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51; Ferrari F12 Berlinetta; Ford Fiesta ST; Jaguar F-Type V8 S; Jaguar XFR-S; Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S-Model Wagon; Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series; Mini John Cooper Works GP; Nissan GT-R Track Edition; and Porsche Cayman S.
To find out the results of the comparison, head over to Road & Track's website or check the press release below, where you'll also find the magazine's top-rated vehicles in eight categories. Want more? Head over to the 2013 PCotY hub. But before you do that, take a stab at guessing the winner of PCotY (we'll give you one hint: it isn't a Porsche).

50th Anniversary Porsche 911 vs. Jaguar F-Type Coupe is a battle of beauty, brawn

Fri, 13 Jun 2014

There can't really be a loser between the Jaguar F-Type Coupe R and the Porsche 911 50th Anniversary Edition. One might be better than the other, but if you're behind the wheel of either of them, you can't complain. In a new video, Motor Trend takes on the difficult task of determining which one of these European powerhouses is the best, not just in terms of raw performance, but also how they actually feel to drive.
The Porsche 911 is one of the perennial favorites of the motoring world. It just doesn't go away and always seems capable of challenging the top vehicles in its class. In this video, Motor Trend takes a look at the 50th Anniversary Edition model that celebrates that heritage while boosting power somewhat over the standard version.
The F-Type Coupe is an incredibly masculine car, MT describing it as "a British Corvette." The coupe's exterior lines are tautly stretched over its athletic body, and it's supercharged 5.0-liter V8 sounds like a demon's growl. Jaguar seems to have things right with its latest sports car.
