1990 Jaguar XJS with 49,000 miles in good condition, white with tan interior and black top.

The car has been in my family since 2001 when it was purchased with 10k miles. It has been well taken care of and driven summers and stored winters ever since. It is in original condition except for updating the air conditioning.

V12 engine with automatic transmission, rides and runs great; top and interior are in great shape. Having inherited another great convertible now it is time to let this one go. I've really enjoyed owning this car.

This Jaguar is a luxury touring convertible with plenty of power, fun to drive and gets plenty of stares. Readied it for summer with an AC charge and oil change.

Car has the manual, the top boot cover and only one set of keys.  Over other cars this age the lower mileage, regular maintenance, attention to condition make this stand out. Maintenance has included replacing all the fluids and changing the bushings in the suspension and steering to keep the ride and handling of the car tight aside from the oil changes, tire rotation and the basics.  The tires look good.  The only thing I can tell is that the rear muffler/silencers could be replaced.

About 40,000 miles this XJS has had a complete tune up. I've replaced one AC hose, the antenna motor as well as the window motors because they would stick from time to time. I've had the car while living in Chicago, Houston and now Minneapolis and managed to locate an excellent Jaguar shop in each location to ensure I had someone knowledgeable working on the car.

The car has been kept in ready-to-drive shape and while storing this over the winter I've run the engine few weeks.  I've tried to remove all the mystery on the details and happy to answer any other questions.

I added the highest resolution photos I could and hope the ones I've posted tell the story as the car does show light wear, small chips and dings normal for a car with this mileage; even if the photos can't show them they are there and I don't want to over-represent the condition - if there's any doubts ask.  There are very tiny marks on the driver's door where the metal creases where I was told the first owner's Bently opened into this car.  You should see some wear on the driver's seat too, otherwise the interior is well represented in the photos.  There is one noticeable dent on the left front fender near the very corner of the car but it doesn't seem to show in the photos.  There is a another tiny depression on the hood too only noticeable at the right angle about the size of a quarter.

The inside most corners of the driver and passenger door have a small spot where rust shows and there is one chip on the hood that probably has some oxidation as well.  Having showed these to a few paint and body shops the recommendation was repainting would lower the value and not worth making a spot repair unless part of a larger section.  I should have probably detailed the car but at least you can see what it photographs like after a wash.

I've priced this to move and really seeing if this listing will do it before considering another option.  You can look up the NADA Guides pricing and find out average retail is over $10k and I had a local estimate for this one at $12k but having watched listings and sales over the last few months before putting this up I've put a reserve at which I'm comfortable letting it go and obviously I'm more interested in a modest private sale amount..

Thanks for looking please ask any questions before you bid.

CAR IS SOLD AS IS without warranty of any kind.

2014 Jaguar F-Type

Stepping Into The Lion's Den With A Big-Hearted Cat
If you're like me - and our demographics suggests you are - you've probably never seen a new Jaguar sportscar at your local showroom. I'm 36, and it hasn't happened in my lifetime... and not by a little bit. Oh, there have been a string of XK coupes and convertibles, and as of late, there have even been some genuine high-performance specials - namely the R, R-S and R-S GT models - but their basis has always been the 2+2 grand tourer shell, not a lighter and smaller footprint with more intrinsic sporting intent. The truth is that it's been a half-century since Jaguar introduced a proper new sportscar. Today, most people know the brand strictly as a purveyor of wood- and hide-lined luxury sedans.
In fact, if you're not an enthusiast with some appreciation for the marque's history, it's a bit odd to hear Jaguar executives proclaim that they are a sportscar company and always have been. By their reckoning, the 2014 F-Type seen here is in fact a return to form, a Rip Van Winkled brand pillar reanimated and reimagined to take center stage. It's a sentiment that must be particularly odd for car shoppers in developing markets like China, where Jaguar hasn't even been selling cars for very long. Yet because the original 1961 E-Type is perhaps the most gorgeous car ever to lay ply on the world's roads, we're prepared to cut them some slack.

Jaguar teaches Mena Suvari and Sebastian Stan how to drive the F-Type

Sun, 27 Jul 2014

Automakers conduct driver training programs on racing circuits around the world for a variety of participants: journalists, customers, even celebrities. And at a recent session of the Jaguar Performance Driving Academy at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, the Leaping Cat marque had a couple of the Hollywood types in the paddock.
In addition to the various (evidently well-heeled) members of the public, learning how to pilot the new F-Type Coupe R on the track this time around were actors Sebastian Stan and Mena Suvari. You might recognize Stan from his roll as Bucky Barnes in the Captain America movies and Suvari from such red, white and blue favorites as American Beauty and the American Pie franchise, but both got a first-hand taste of one of Britain's finest courtesy of Jaguar.
So how did it go? Well, as one of the less-famous participants put it, it was #awesomesauce." We couldn't possibly reproduce in words her enthusiasm in person and on camera, so you'll just have to watch the video below to see for yourself.

Ferrari exec to lead Jaguar North America

Tue, 06 Aug 2013

Jaguar has announced that Jeff Curry will be serving as the brand's new North American vice president, effective August 13. The move is a coup for Jag, which lured Curry away from his previous posting as VP of marketing for Ferrari North America, and is further evidence of just how strong Jaguar's comeback has gotten.
Curry has spent over 20 years in the auto industry, and has worked with Audi, SiriusXM and Land Rover, where he made his start in the industry. His primary responsibilities with Jaguar will cover marketing communications, customer relationship management, and product planning.
Jaguar Land Rover's North American president, Andy Goss, heaped praise on the brand's newest addition saying, "Jeff brings with him extensive automotive and luxury marketing experience, critical expertise in leading-edge technologies and a personal passion for automobiles."
