Up for sale is a 1982 jaguar xjs that was converted from a v 12 to a ford v 8, it currently has a 1993 ford 351 Windsor engine in it with a ford AOD transmission it has a ford wiring harness and ecu, ford steering column, ford gauges ford gas tank and probably a few other ford things I cant think of. This car does run and drive and stop, before I got it, it had been sitting in a dry garage for 5 years but started right up it needs some minor tinkering to make it perfect, the intake is something the previous owner made and it has a crack in it so it is getting a bit to much air when it runs, it would be best to either change it over to a carbureted setup or find a factory intake that fit, it also could use spark plugs just has a miss when it is running, exhaust sounds very nice, deep and not very loud, I have not dove it really any distance, around 30 miles at the most but transmission shifts fine, it stops good don't get hot the gauges work the ford speedometer says it has 220,000 miles but it don't, the engine and transmission don't either just the speedo was used out of a higher mileage truck, the engine don't have no odd ticks clicks knocks, nothing sounds out of the ordinary and with some new plugs it should run great. The gas tank and battery setup is not exactly the best in my eyes but could be changed, they are both located in the trunk, the gas tank don't leak as far as I can tell but when you open the trunk you can at times smell some gas fumes, I have had the tank all the way full and couldn't find a leak anywhere it might not be vented properly would be my only guess. the interior is in fair shape for its age needs some cleaning and some stitches need to be redone in the drivers seat but its not all tore up or beat up, the dash has some small cracks in it and could use a plate or something to cover where some of the original jag gauges were and could be made to look pretty nice with a little work, the windshield wipers work the electric windows work, and it has a sunroof, the body is in really nice shape it looks very clean underneath and only has a few small bubbles of rust starting on the rear quarters as shown in the pics, it has a older paintjob on it which don't look to bad but should possibly be redone in the future, one tail light lens has a crack, all windows are good no cracks or broken ones , if I forgot to mention something just ask me a question and I will be glad to give you an answer.

2017 Jaguar XE

Thu, Apr 30 2015

You've seen this movie before. Topple the BMW 3 Series has gone more rounds than The Fast and The Furious and The Transporter combined. But like any good cinematic retread, this time it's different. For starters, the latest installment is a zombie flick. Born from the ashes of Ford ownership and the failed X-Type, the 2017 Jaguar XE is coming to save us from the somnambulant, undead Bimmer. Think Army of Darkness with luxury sport sedans, and you'll understand what we're going for. Okay, the plot is only based on a true story. The reality in the automotive world isn't as dramatic as most car journalists would like you to believe. But the XE is hugely important for Jaguar's desire to increase global production. You're looking at the future best-selling model. It's built on an all-new body structure that forms the basis for all the brand's upcoming sedans. The smallest, most affordable Jaguar also launches with a new engine family, built in a new factory in England. The XE arrives stateside in early 2016 with two available engines. A 2.0-liter diesel from the new Ingenium lineup is the entry-level model. Above that is the supercharged 3.0-liter V6 familiar to the Jaguar and Land Rover lineup. A turbo 2.0-liter gas engine will come in below the diesel at a later date, with an optional manual transmission. The XE versions on launch will offer rear- or all-wheel-drive. Pricing information is yet to be revealed. Until then, just assume the XE will mimic its competitors for price and content. We spent most of our time driving the 35t with R-Sport trim, but check back for a driving impression of the diesel in a few days. As we reported in our prototype drive of the XE earlier this year, this car has incredible steering feel. It's the supernatural aid in the XE's monomyth if any film buffs are still paying attention. The electrically assisted system ranks in the hall of fame with the rack on the current Porsche 911 Carrera. Lightly weighted, the loads build up in the steering wheel like it's wired to strain gauges on the sidewall of the front tires. It's not just good programming that makes the XE steer so well, although that's a big part. The rest comes from the chassis. Jaguar engineers claim the double wishbone front suspension uses lessons learned from the F-Type. The rear part of the car's quick responses comes from a multi-link setup Jag calls integrated link. A body 20-percent stiffer than the current XF also contributes to sharp reflexes.

Can a Jaguar XKR-S be drifted while blindfolded?

Thu, 27 Dec 2012

Bring together a 550-horsepower Jaguar XKR-S and a rain-soaked skidpad, and it's almost impossible to not end up in a sideways drift... accidental or on purpose. With that in mind, the gang over at Autocar got a hold of the monstrous XKR-S for the latest installment of "Will it Drift?," only they raised the stakes a little by attempting the feat with a blindfolded driver
We've driven the XKR-S a number of times here at Autoblog (including a First Drive, Review and Quick Spin), so we weren't at all surprised to learn that blind drifting in the car is possible. But what is remarkable is the ease at which it happened. This, of course, can be credited as much to the car as to the driver, Steve Sutcliffe. Check out the impressive video for yourself, which is posted after the jump.

Jaguar Land Rover cutting production in face of falling demand

Sat, Feb 8 2020

LONDON — Jaguar Land Rover will reduce or stop production on certain days at two of its British factories over the next few weeks as Britain's biggest carmaker pursues cost-cutting measures in response to falling demand. JLR posted a 2.3% drop in retail sales in the three months to the end of December and has targeted billions of pounds worth of savings to tackle falling diesel demand in Europe and a tough sales environment in China. The firm will halt production on selected days over a four-week period from late February at its Castle Bromwich factory in central England and stop production on some half or full days at its nearby Solihull facility until the end of March. "The external environment remains challenging for our industry and the company is taking decisive actions to achieve the necessary operational efficiencies to safeguard long-term success," the company said in a statement. "We have confirmed that Solihull and Castle Bromwich will make some minor changes to their production schedules to reflect fluctuating demand globally, whilst still meeting customer needs." The move is not connected to coronavirus, a spokeswoman said, which prompted Fiat Chrysler to warn on Thursday that a European plant could shut down within two to four weeks if Chinese parts suppliers cannot get back to work.
