2006 Jaguar Xj8 Vanden Plas on 2040-cars
Bohannon, Virginia, United States
Up for sale is my beautiful 2006 Jaguar XJ Vanden Plas. I purchased this vehicle in 2012 in North Carolina with 90,000 miles on it. This vehicle has never been flooded or been in any accidents. The Vanden Plas is the more luxurious trim level on the XJ model, and this one had literally all but one option installed- adaptive cruise control. Other than adaptive cruise control, it has every luxurious option offered on the XJ sedan, and they all work. The vehicle is a pleasure to drive; it glides down the road on it's independent air suspension. All original equipment is included, from the lambswool floor mats to the Serius Satellite radio remote control. The car has and continues to be garage kept. The paint looks and shines like it just came off the showroom floor. Over the past two years of my ownership I have replaced the front air suspension system, the rear control arms and front control arm bushings, and the alternator- good news for the buyer, because these were elements of the car prone to cause problems, and they've already been fixed! I also have all service records indicating these repairs and scheduled maintenance since my ownership. The Jag starts right up and purrs down the road at 75 MPH, all while still under 2000 RPMs. There are no warning messages on the dash but the engine light is on due to an oxygen sensor needing replacement- I have the paperwork diagnosing this. The odometer is currently at 127,388, but the car is a daily driver so this will change. Test drives are welcome from serious inquirers. I will accept paypal or cashier's check; however, if paying by cashiers check, the vehicle and the title will not be released until payment has cleared. Scammers will be reported to eBay. This is an excellent car and I know whoever buys it will be more than satisfied with their purchase.

Jaguar XF gets performance-look R-Sport trim
Wed, 26 Feb 2014If you're looking for all the style of a sports sedan but without the added expense of springing for a full-on performance model (and keeping it fed with fuel and fresh tires), most European automakers will gladly hook you up with an all-show, no-go package. BMW has its M-Sport aero kits, Audi its S-Line, and Mercedes its AMG Sport packs. And now Jaguar is getting in on the action with the launch of the new R-Sport line.
Set to be introduced on the XF at the Geneva Motor Show, the R-Sport trim at least some of the flash of the XFR or XFR-S but with a more economical engine and a relatively accessible price of entry. (This is, after all, still a Jag.) The XF R-Sport is distinguished by a sportier front bumper, side sills, rear spoiler, 17-inch wheels and unique badging to set it apart from any "ordinary" Jaguar XF. The interior is upgraded as well, and there's an optional black styling pack to take things even further.
Jaguar is offering the XF R-Sport in either sedan or wagon form with the 2.2-liter turbodiesel producing 161 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, fitted with a spot-start system to make it a far more frugal option than the 5.0-liter supercharged V8 in the real deal. Although this version won't be coming to US as you see it here, Jaguar tells Autoblog it's always possible it'll produce a similar aesthetic treatment for the North American market - just don't count on such models arriving under diesel motivation. We'll take a closer look at them in Geneva next week, but for now, you can check out the gallery and press release below for an idea of what to expect.
1964 Jaguar XKE slinks into Jay Leno's Garage
Wed, 07 Aug 2013The idea of altering a classic Jaguar E-Type might seem preposterous to some, but Jasen Len of XKs Unlimited managed to create a modified 1964 E-Type that stays true to the Jag's timeless design. Just a few months after Jay Leno featured his own original E-Type on Jay Leno's Garage, Len stopped by to show off his custom Jaguar creation.
Starting out with a rust-ravaged body, Len made the car just the way he wanted it to be. He started off with some minor changes to the car's exterior like the Le Mans-inspired racing lights and handmade front bumpers, handmade sills with integrated exhaust and flared rear fenders. Inside, he dropped the floor to make more interior space and reworked the E-Type's styling for more of a modern look. We have to say, if you're going to mess with a Series 1 E-Type, this is the way to do it.
Sadly, even though Len and Leno spend plenty of time talking about the car's 300-horsepower 3.8-liter inline six-cylinder, we never get to hear the car fire up. Check out the JLG video, which is posted below, and as a bonus, enjoy the gallery from Jaguar showing a 1961 E-Type.
Top Gear caught filming Best of British near Buckingham Palace
Mon, 24 Jun 2013YouTuber and car-fan extraordinaire Shmee probably had very little trouble tracking down the Top Gear film crew recently, as the group was putting together an episode that could accurately be described as "excessive." With its flag-waving (literally) Best of British theme, the TG guys gathered a jaw-dropping array of British cars, and parked them all right in front of Buckingham Palace to make extra sure that the point was driven home.
Top Gear hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May were outfitted with a trio of Jaguar F-Types festooned with gigantic Union Jacks, with which to survey the landscape of British motoring glory. In the video below, you'll see that this includes any number of Mini, Aston Martin, Lotus, McLaren, Land Rover, Bentley and Rolls-Royce models (just to name a few), as well as a healthy dose of weird stuff that most people would never guess at being built in the UK. The lawnmowers and military vehicles are especially cool.
