2002 XJ8 VDP, white w/ gold pinstripe down sides, Penta wheels, Michelin Pilot Sport tires - fronts ~90% / rears ~40%. PO replaced front tires only for some reason. I bought this car for my wife, but she'd never drive it during any inclement weather. If it sprinkled out, she would keep it in the garage. I refuse to drive it to work because of the inconsiderate employees who will fling open their doors and smack the vehicles next to them and not even care. Since we've owned it, it was rarely driven. I believe since owning it, we've put on approximately 3,000 miles. I pulled a CarFax on this car before I bought it and confirmed the car has never been in an accident.

VIN: SAJDA24C02LF40307

Interior is in great condition, exterior is in great condition. The windows are tinted at 20% all around, except for the windshield. I had the windows tinted to prevent UV light damage to the interior if and when it was parked outside during normal use. There are a couple of chips in the windshield, but no cracks. The front end and the lights have a thick, clear, polyethylene plastic bra of some sort. I believe this was a factory option as it looks OEM. The brakes are around 50-60%. The transmission shifts smoothly and the car drives great. I’ve owned BMWs, Mercedes and this Jaguar. The V8 in this car is by far the most well balanced V8 I’ve ever seen or driven. When you shut it off, there is zero vibration, same with starting and running. It runs as smooth as glass. Absolutely everything works 100% perfectly, no issues. This car does not have the adaptive damping system option, which is something I specifically wanted to avoid when looking for an XJ8. This car has always been garaged, its entire life. There is zero rust on this car anywhere.

Last month I replaced the air filter, oil filter, Castrol 5W30 oil, spark plugs and battery. All work performed in accordance with the JTIS manuals and fluids/filters/plugs are OEM spec. I highly recommend JTIS to anyone who owns or wants to purchase one of these vehicles. Performing maintenance and service on these vehicles is not difficult. Everything is very well thought out and sometimes additional information from JTIS or other sources is advantageous to understand why the assembly was designed that way. It's on its second fuel pump via dealership work under the previous owner. I have full service records throughout its entire life, all of which will be included with all other documentation of the vehicle. When I bought the car, I bought an AE scan tool to ensure I had the capability of diagnosing codes. Zero codes.

I washed, waxed, detailed and cleaned the car, then took over 150 photos. Photos are displayed below. The photos were taken with a 14MP DSLR with a 40mm prime lens, thus the lack of zoom and panoramas. The photos are grouped by exterior, engine compartment, interior cabin, trunk, and miscellaneous. The miscellaneous photos depict all documentation which comes with the car. If prospective buyer would like the photos in higher definition, please do not hesitate to contact me via email and ask.

With a new Jaguar and the Shell app, your car can pay for its own gas

Wed, Feb 15 2017

Contactless payments are making their way into the car. Jaguar and Shell have the first major rollout, allowing you to pay for fuel through the car's touchscreen. Of course you'll still have to get out of the car to actually pump the fuel into the car, but hey, progress, right? Apple Pay and PayPal will be available payment methods from the start, and Android Pay will be added later. For this all to work, you'll need a new Jaguar (or Land Rover) with the InControl infotainment system, a connected phone with the InControl app and Shell app, some space in your tank, and some electronic money. When you pull up to a Shell station and launch the Shell app through the touchscreen, the car will use geolocation to figure out which station you're at and then prompt you to enter the pump number you're next to (don't want to pay for someone else's fuel now do you?). Once that's done, you tell the system how much fuel you want (it's not clear if you can just fill the tank like most normal people do) and then the screen in the car shows you a receipt; one is also sent to you via email. While this might just seem like trading one screen for another and entering info through your car instead of at the pump, contactless payments also have an added level of security over pulling out a credit card. (Credit card skimmers, which steal card data when you go to swipe at a kiosk or ATM, have been popular at gas stations.) It will also be welcome in the winter months, when you can limit your exposure time. Plus you'll never again have to respond to this incomplete sentence, which greets us at Shell stations everywhere: "Is this debit card?" InControl is available on every Jaguar and Land Rover model. And if you get this Shell app working on an F-Pace with the Jaguar Activity Key, you'll have the latest in minimal-touch technology. The system will roll out to people in the UK first and should arrive in the US later this year. Related Video: Jaguar Land Rover Technology Smartphone Luxury shell paypal

SVR plans to tune electrified Jaguar-Land Rover models, but not the I-Pace

Sun, May 24 2020

Jaguar-Land Rover's SVR division has only put its name on high-horsepower gasoline-burning cars, like the XE Project 8 built in strictly limited numbers. It's open to the idea of tuning electrified models, whether they're electric or hybrid, but it confirmed it's not currently planning on making a spicier evolution of the I-Pace. "We will be developing electrified versions of our cars, be that fully electrified or plug-in hybrids," affirmed Michael van der Sande, the division's managing director, in an interview with Auto Express. But although the electric I-Pace (pictured) raced in a one-make race series held on the sidelines of Formula E events for two seasons, and SVR could credibly claim to inject track DNA into a street car, it stressed the I-Pace doesn't appear in its product plans for reasons that remain a little bit murky. Jaguar announced the end of the eTrophy series in May 2020, which might explain why it's reluctant to exploit racing's marketing power. "There are other various things we are working on which we can't talk about, but we're very interested in electrification. That's why we got involved in eTrophy," van der Sande clarified. "The technology transfer, the learning applies to that car and other cars but we're not planning an SVR I-Pace at the moment." His comments confirm we'll need to be patient to see what SVR's take on an electric or hybrid car looks like. One of the first electrified models to receive the go-fast treatment might be the next-generation XJ tentatively scheduled to make its debut before the end of 2020. It will be exclusively electric, though it won't look as radical as the I-Pace, so Jaguar will need to find a way to replace the hot-rodded XJR 575 model it positioned at the top of the last-generation model's line-up. It's not too far-fetched to speculate the next Range Rover also due out in the coming months will receive some degree of electrification, and it could spawn an SVR-tuned model, too. Are you the soon-to-be-revealed Jaguar CUV concept?

Fri, 06 Sep 2013

Following the teaser of the Jaguar CX-17 Concept released last weekend, the first official image of the Jaguar crossover concept appears to have hit the Internet ahead of its introduction at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
Assuming this is the real deal, the tall, upright front end removes any doubt that this is anything but a preview for the upcoming Jaguar crossover, which will likely be called either the XQ or the Q-Series. Reports suggest that Jag's first-ever CUV is likely to go into production in 2016, and it will bring with it the option for a Jaguar-developed four-cylinder engine replacing the current mills still sourced from former parent Ford.
