Finally,  vehicle is BACK UP FOR SALE !  I am selling for a friend.
Earlier I stopped the auction because owner didn't have title.  Since car is registered and owned in the State of Maine,  they DO NOT ISSUE a title for any car older than 1995.

This 1987 Jaguar XJ6 will come with a BILL OF SALE ,  CURRENT MAINE REGISTRATION ,  and a letter from the State of Maine to give to the division of motor vehicles and title and register in YOUR STATE.

Now,  The car-

This car is owned by a Florida snowbird.   They sold their Florida home and no longer have need for the car.     The car has not had much use in the last few years.   Needs to be driven more and enjoyed again !

THEIR LOSS ,  YOUR GAIN !  SOLD TO FIRST COME FIRST SERVE !     I can not store car any longer !   MAKE AN OFFER,   but PLEASE don't insult me..

I've been in possession of the car for a few weeks now.   Here are the things I noticed wrong with the car. But please keep in mind I am NO EXPERT,  and I know nothing about Jaguars..

FIRST,  THE NOT SO GOOD:

-Car idles rough when first started,  for about 20 seconds.  Then it runs perfect.
I wiggled some plug wires when it was idling rough,  and it seemed to change the rough idle.   My guess is it needs a new distributor cap and wires.

-While in car and idling,  I could hear a faint tapping I thought was coming from engine or passenger side.  I traced it to the actual fuel rail and line going to back of car.  When I grabbed the line behind rear tire,  I could actually feel it tapping in my hand.   So the tapping must be the fuel pump ?

-A/C does not get cold.    I checked fuses and the basics,  and all seems fine.  Owner said it worked last summer.  Possibly lost a charge due to it sitting.  Not sure.    Blower and controls work fine.

-Car has 2 gas tanks.   1 sending unit for gas gauge does not work (passenger side tank).  The gas tank works and all,   but you can't tell if its full or empty.  I went to fill the tank thinking it was empty,  and its full.   Guess it would make a good backup tank :)

-Oil pressure gauge on dash doesn't show a reading.   Either the gauge is bad,  or a bad sending unit.

-Exterior :  Car has good paint,  but not great.   There is a noticeable clearcoat issue on hood (SEE PICS).  Right above rear passenger tire,  there is a small ding.    Normal paint chips here and there for this age car.  Some areas of clearcoat have a 'webbing' or hairline scratching.

-Interior :  front floor mats need replaced.   Some light cracking in faux wood on dash. Front seats not ripped but have some stitching missing and show wear

NOW THE GOOD !:
-Exterior-  All chrome parts are near perfect condition.     All windows work 100% .  Sunroof opens as should.   Exterior motorized radio antenna works 100%.  hood and trunk work 100%.  Doors shut solid.

-Interior: Headliner had been replaced, still good. New upper dash.  Radio works (don't have a tape to test cassette tape deck).  All other knobs and buttons seem to work. Electric drivers seat works.

-Engine: Runs good.   No unusual noises from motor.  Transmission shifts smooth and the car rides down the road great. Has not used oil or left a spot in my driveway or garage either !    Hoses, brake lines, etc. are all in good shape.

-The car just, looks, good !!       I already have 3 vehicles.   I'd keep it myself but have no room !

-I have a lot of paperwork with the car.   Including a parts manual and service manual.  MANY service records and repair records  (probably all of them) since new,   even the original window sticker.

-according to paperwork,  It had new shocks,  A/C converted to new coolant, water pump, shocks, brakes and exhaust all have been done within the last 30k miles.

Well,    that's all I got.    Please check out the 2 videos I took of the car running Below!

ALSO LISTED LOCALLY !     WILL NOT SHIP and MUST BE PICKED UP WITHIN 2 WEEKS OF AUCTION END !

** SOLD AS IS CONDITION- NO WARRANTY EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED-    vehicle described to best of my knowledge **

European automakers gear up for Brazilian production

Mon, 07 Oct 2013

Brazil is the place to be, apparently. Toyota has been investing in the South American country, as has BMW, which announced a $261 million investment in October 2012, on the heels of an Audi factory announcement in San José Chiapa. The high-end immigration is only set to continue, as Mercedes-Benz and Jaguar-Land Rover have both announced plans to set up manufacturing operations there.
Mercedes is the big news here, as its new facility will see the German manufacturer invest 170-million euros for production of its next-generation C-Class and upcoming GLA-Class. "Brazil is an important future market. With our local production we accept the challenge and take on the competition," noted Andreas Renschler, Management Board member for Production and Procurement at Mercedes-Benz Cars and Mercedes-Benz Vans. Production is expected to begin by 2016.
Jaguar-Land Rover, meanwhile, isn't so concrete in its plans. The news of its investment in South America comes from a job posting for a plant quality manager in Brazil that was picked up by the UK's AutoCar. "Portuguese language skills will be definite advantage" for interested candidates, according to the job listing. The want ad follows on the heels of remarks by Jaguar Land Rover's Dr. Ralph Speth, who said there are "very intensive discussions" with Brazil's government. Unlike Mercedes, there's no mention of which vehicles will be produced in South America, although AutoCar thinks the Freelander, sold in the US as the LR2, is a leading contender.

2017 Jaguar XE

Thu, Apr 30 2015

You've seen this movie before. Topple the BMW 3 Series has gone more rounds than The Fast and The Furious and The Transporter combined. But like any good cinematic retread, this time it's different. For starters, the latest installment is a zombie flick. Born from the ashes of Ford ownership and the failed X-Type, the 2017 Jaguar XE is coming to save us from the somnambulant, undead Bimmer. Think Army of Darkness with luxury sport sedans, and you'll understand what we're going for. Okay, the plot is only based on a true story. The reality in the automotive world isn't as dramatic as most car journalists would like you to believe. But the XE is hugely important for Jaguar's desire to increase global production. You're looking at the future best-selling model. It's built on an all-new body structure that forms the basis for all the brand's upcoming sedans. The smallest, most affordable Jaguar also launches with a new engine family, built in a new factory in England. The XE arrives stateside in early 2016 with two available engines. A 2.0-liter diesel from the new Ingenium lineup is the entry-level model. Above that is the supercharged 3.0-liter V6 familiar to the Jaguar and Land Rover lineup. A turbo 2.0-liter gas engine will come in below the diesel at a later date, with an optional manual transmission. The XE versions on launch will offer rear- or all-wheel-drive. Pricing information is yet to be revealed. Until then, just assume the XE will mimic its competitors for price and content. We spent most of our time driving the 35t with R-Sport trim, but check back for a driving impression of the diesel in a few days. As we reported in our prototype drive of the XE earlier this year, this car has incredible steering feel. It's the supernatural aid in the XE's monomyth if any film buffs are still paying attention. The electrically assisted system ranks in the hall of fame with the rack on the current Porsche 911 Carrera. Lightly weighted, the loads build up in the steering wheel like it's wired to strain gauges on the sidewall of the front tires. It's not just good programming that makes the XE steer so well, although that's a big part. The rest comes from the chassis. Jaguar engineers claim the double wishbone front suspension uses lessons learned from the F-Type. The rear part of the car's quick responses comes from a multi-link setup Jag calls integrated link. A body 20-percent stiffer than the current XF also contributes to sharp reflexes.

Jaguar says F-Type sales off to flying start

Fri, 31 May 2013

As we noted in our recent first drive, Jaguar's luscious new F-Type roadster is a bit of a tweener in both size and cost, lining up in between rival Porsche's Boxster and 911. That one-for-two-segment strategy is showing early signs of paying off, with Automotive News reporting that half of the car's 2014 production allotment is already sold. We're not talking huge numbers - sports cars in this segment only "have a global annual volume of about 75,000 units and a market share of 0.1 percent," notes Jaguar brand director Adrian Hallmark. Yet the company figures the F-Type will work out to about 15 to 20 percent of its total volume of around 60,000 units.
From where we sit, this is all very encouraging news, but it's way too early to call the F-Type a smash hit. The sports car segment is known for its fickleness and its front-loaded sales curve, so the real measure of success will be how it fares over the next few years after early adopters get their cars. Jaguar will have to work to keep the F-Type fresh with new variants, and we hear it's prepared to do just that. The British luxury marque hasn't confirmed a hardtop coupe variant yet, but patent images and spy shots suggest one is on the way shortly, and it ought to extend the model's appeal greatly. A four-cylinder option and a manual transmission have also been rumored, and presumably Jaguar will eventually launch higher-performance R and R-S variants as it has done with various model lines, including its other sporty two door, the XK grand tourer.
