VIDEO ABOVE / PRESS PLAY Some of these photos were taken at Texas Classic Cars of Dallas' showroom located at 1912 W. Mockingbird Lane here in Dallas, Texas, 75235. This is a 2-owner car. The 2nd owner purchased this car approximately 20,000 miles ago. We hope you enjoy our presentation. Feel free to contact Dave at 214-213-7072 or Maris at 214-616-2317 with any questions. The exterior shows well, but shows paint wear & sun fade upon further inspection. The exterior showcases the solid and straight original body. The paint finish is faded and checking. This is a 20-footer paint job. There are a number of imperfections shown well in the following photographs. Here is checking and fade that is prevalent throughout the exterior. This is a rough area on the driver's side lower part of the windshield trim, I'd say the most unattractive spot on the car. It is solid here as well, however there is rust coming through in this area. There are scratches on the passenger rear door shown above. The interior is the original red leather. The front seats show wear, but are intact. The rear seating area appears to have been seldom used. The headliner and door panels are in good condition as is the dash pad. The wood grain accents throughout have some cracking and damage in a few places, photographed. The factory gauges are functional as is the factory-optioned cassette stereo. The gauges are working. Under the hood is the extremely reliable inline 6-cylinder DOHC engine. This power plant is known for its reliability and is no different in this classic XJ-6. The mileage currently stands at 165,212 logged on the odometer. The original hood insulation is intact but worn as shown above. Further inspection of the engine compartment will confirm factory components throughout. The trunk is solid and free of corrosion these cars typically suffer. A original spare wheel/tire is included (base wheel, not wire) along with the factory jacking equipment in its original carrying case. The optional Jag wire wheels could use a professional detailer's touch to make them sparkle even more. These 15-inch rims are wrapped in very nice Pirelli P4000 radial tires (215/70ZR15s) for long distance cruising. The chromed grille is in excellent condition as are the front and rear bumpers. The underbody displays solid original flooring throughout this dry climate Jaguar. There is some oil leaking underneath the car as well. Enjoy our remaining photo slideshow with many additional photos. Again, feel free to contact Dave at 214-213-7072 or Maris at 214-616-2317 with any questions. Jaguar I-Pace concept previews all-electric SUV for 2018
Tue, Nov 15 2016It seemed that Tesla would stand alone for years with a battery-electric SUV. The Germans were coming, of course, but they appeared content to time their battery push until government regulations forced them there around 2020. That's all changed. Jaguar is promising to turn its I-Pace concept SUV into a full-fledged production crossover SUV within two years. It's Jaguar's way of leaping from internal-combustion power, clean over the top of plug-in hybrids, straight to zero-emission battery-electric vehicles. It says a lot about Jaguar's focus that the second SUV in its production history will also be its first electric car. It debuts this week at the Los Angeles auto show. The Indian-owned carmaker is promising the five-seat I-Pace will look, feel, handle, and perform like a proper Jaguar, too, with a 0-60-mph time of around four seconds. With 516 pound-feet of torque being pumped out of its two electric motors, the I-Pace has as much gristle as the pure-bred F-Type SVR sports car, and it has it from zero rpm. It's also promising the two motors will combine for 400 horsepower, too. It won't need to compromise on range to get its performance, with Jaguar promising the I-Pace will stretch across to 220 miles of range from its 90-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack. It will also take two hours to charge on a 50-kW fast-charging DC station, or achieve 80 percent charging in 90 minutes, and Jaguar insists commuters who drive about 30 miles a day would only need charging once a week. It won't be the last EV from Jaguar Land Rover, either, with its scalable modular architecture designed from scratch to spread across the corporate portfolio and to move down to smaller sedans and coupes or up to full-sized Range Rover contenders. The crossover SUV uses the alloy battery casing as an integral, stressed part of the I-Pace's chassis architecture, lowering the ride height and adding body rigidity. After entering the all-electric Formula E championship this year, Jaguar says it designed and engineered the batteries and the electric motors in-house. "This is an uncompromised electric vehicle designed from a clean sheet of paper: we've developed a new architecture and selected only the best technology available," said Jaguar Land Rover's technical development leader, Wolfgang Ziebart.
Jaguar to offer high-performance SVR models like Land Rover?
Tue, 01 Jul 2014At the Goodwood Festival of Speed this past weekend, Land Rover previewed its upcoming performance version of the Range Rover Sport. Only instead of wearing the R-S badge that adorns the most hardcore of Jaguar models, the performance SUV from JLR's Special Operations unit introduced the letters SVR. And now, it seems that badge is here to stay.
Following the Range Rover Sport SVR, a new report from Motor Authority now says that Jaguar Land Rover will use those letters to distinguish the top-of-the-line performance models from both marques moving forward. As such, we might expect SVR models of the upcoming Jaguar XE compact sedan and Land Rover Discovery Sport, as well as potential new performance models based on the new F-Type and next-generation XF.
If accurate, the move would seem to separate Jaguar in particular from the R-S badge that has adorned performance models like the XFR-S and XKR-S. Both Audi and Porsche use the letters RS to distinguish its most hardcore models as well (e.g. Audi RS7 Sportback and Porsche 911 GT3 RS). Whether the similarity was a factor in shifting to the SVR moniker, we don't know, but either way, we welcome the arrival of a new generation of Jaguar and Land Rover performance models - especially if they pack the 575-horsepower version of the company's ubiquitous 5.0-liter supercharged V8. Not incidentally, that delicious powerplant gained a couple of new engine bays to call home at Goodwood as well - it's not just found in the forthcoming Range Rover Sport SVR, it's found a home in the F-Type Project 7, too.

Mon, 12 Aug 2013Why Ask Questions When You Already Know The Answer?
"Is it fast?"
We get that question a lot. Several times a month, in fact, and it comes from every corner of our lives - friends, family, complete strangers and even colleagues from time to time. And it's an understandable query. After all, speed, either in a straight line or around a twisty bit of tarmac, is a universally accepted line of demarcation between the typical family sedan and something much more fun and therefore desirable.
