Jaguar XJ-SC  1986   T-Tops and 1/2 soft top.

The rarest Production Jaguar ever.  Only 5013 units made worldwide for all model years and only 2007 imported to North America for all model years.

I have been restoring this Jaguar for 3 years I have owned as many as FIVE 1980's Jags at one time and consider myself to be very knowledgeable on these cars.  I am thinning the heard some as I am looking to get into a used Bentley or Rolls. OK  so let's go over what has been done.

Car was just painted last week....YES  LAST WEEK !!!  I sold my Yacht to a gentleman that owns a body shop and worked a paint job into the deal.  The car looks Great.

New EBC Brake Pads all around

New Front Drilled and Slotted Rotors

New Master Cylinder

Polyurethane Rack Bushings

Had a Wooded Steering Wheel sent from England for over $500

New CD/Stereo and 4 speakers installed (Sounds great even with the tops off) Sony

Birdseye Maple Dash inlay and ski slope and a top quality Dash cap

The seats bottoms are new and were originally a maroon color I used leatherique and had the skins dyed to factory color.  The seatbacks are from Pauls Jaguar here in Fort Lauderdale and he is well known across the US for his factory original hides.

The Oil was changed less than 500 Miles ago with Castrol Syntec 20/50 for classic cars.  This is about the only oil I run in these as they have added Zinc protection package for old style tappets.  I bring this up to inform any novice to these cars that they hold 12 qts and at $8 a quart plus filter you have about 10,000 to go before you need to change it out.

The car has Dayton Wire Wheels and I even purchased a Dayton for the spare in the trunk.

All the gauges work fine.

The back soft top window has been replaced with new plastic and there are 2 boot covers for when the top is down.

I was told the AC needs to be recharged with R134 (so the conversion from R12 was done at sometime), but have never bothered as it is a convertible.

Dynamat sound proofing has been installed on the floors. with new factory floor mats about a year ago.

I purchased this car with the odometer reading  002004 (close to that anyway)  So at sometime the Odometer has been replaced

One more time  AT SOMETIME THE ODOMETER HAS BEEN REPLACED.  SO I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY MILES ARE ON THIS CAR.  But it runs fine and always starts right up and LOOKS FANTASTIC. maybe able to find out through a car fax.

I have never tuned up this engine so I would presume it could use one, but it runs fine.

Car should have an alignment and there is a small exhaust note coming from a mid section pipe (actually sounds good to me).

Tires are due at this point also.  I just changed one rear tire with a New Pirelli P4000 about 100 miles ago.

Intermittent short on the wipers I have not looked into.

There is a lien with a balance of about $1200 that will need to be paid off so it will take a few days to clear.

Feel Free to come take her for a test drive.

I'm starting this no reserve auction at the value of the new paint job  so don't miss out.

I have 100% Feedback over 10 years on ebay so bid with confidence...................

Jaguar crossover won't be based on Evoque or have off-road chops

Wed, 21 Aug 2013

Jaguar's long-rumored crossover won't be built on the same platform as the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, says the Australian site Car Advice. The future of the new CUV remains uncertain, but if Jaguar does dip its toes into the SUV/crossover pool, though, the new vehicle will likely be a car-based soft roader, lacking (or perhaps more appropriately, not needing) the off-road-engineered chops inherent in Land Rover's small CUV platform.
Jaguar product planner Steven De Ploey explained to Car Advice, "There's many groups around the world [platform sharing] - obviously Volkswagen Group is doing it all the time - but I think we have to be careful. He added, "Jaguar is something quite different... It's about capability, but very much on-road focused capability." That seems to gel with our suspicions that the XQ, as it's expected to be called, will share its platform with an upcoming small Jaguar sedan, the oft-rumored X-Type successor.
Still, we'd recommend taking any mention of a Jaguar crossover with a grain of salt. Based on many of the (quite compelling) statements made by De Ploey against a Jag crossover and previous statements made by Jag's design boss, Ian Callum, the case against a leaper-bearing crossover seems strong. If a high-rider were to arrive from Jaguar, though, the article insinuates that it'd be more in line with the BMW X6 or upcoming X4 - sort of a coupe-based crossover. Like we said, grain of salt. If a Jag crossover is going to arrive soon, the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show is the most likely locale for its debut. We'll find out in a few weeks.

Jaguar readying SUV for Frankfurt debut

Thu, 01 Aug 2013

In an effort to target higher-volume vehicle segments, Jaguar is getting ready to introduce its first-ever crossover, and Autoweek reports that we could see it debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. We've heard in the past that the new Jaguar crossover could carry the name XQ, but the report also mentions that the Q-type name is still in the running (now wouldn't Audi just love that?).
A little more clear than the crossover's name, AW says the cargo-friendly Jaguar should ride on the same platform as the upcoming Jaguar XS compact sedan rather than using a Land Rover platform. As for the on-sale date, it still sounds like the XS will hit the roads first in 2015 with the crossover model due out in 2016.

Jaguar Land Rover likely to build US plant... in three years

Mon, Mar 9 2015

Jaguar Land Rover may very well open a plant in the United States, but the latest word has it that it'll be another three years or so before the company even makes a decision on the matter. The prospect first came up on our radar back in October when we reported that JLR was considering building a plant in the South. Georgia governor Nathan Deal even flew to the UK to solicit JLR's business. Former parent-company chairman Ratan Tata subsequently confirmed the idea was under consideration last month. And now the British automaker's CEO has told Automotive News that JLR will need a US assembly plant to fuel its growth in the vital North American market, but that'll it'll take a while to get going. The reasons for the delay, according to chief executive Ralf Speth, are threefold. For one thing, the automaker has its hands full at the moment opening plants in other locations: last year it opened one in China and this year it opened one in Brazil. It also recently opened a new SVO facility, an electric-propulsion R&D center and a new engine plant all in the UK, and can only handle building so many new facilities at a time. JLR will also need US suppliers of aluminum components to step up their game, as the company relies heavily on aluminum construction for their vehicles. US automakers shifting to aluminum for models like the new Ford F-150 will encourage American suppliers to get into the game, but it may be a while before they're up to Jaguar Land Rover standards. Finally, JLR will need to increase its sales potential in the US in order to justify local production. Speth says the company would need one model of which it could sell 30,000 to 40,000 units in the US alone, and it sold less than 18,000 units of its best-selling the Range Rover Sport here last year. In fact the entire Jaguar brand sold less than 16,000 units throughout all of last year in America, with Land Rover selling far more at over 50,000 units to contribute to total sales of over 67,000 units.
