2011 Jaguar XJ L - Black/Black with Blacked out Lights, Tint, Built In Radar

Awesome Shape / Non-Smoker

Warranty Thru 50k miles or 2015 (whichever comes first)

For Sale by Private Owner

So here I am. Selling my baby. This is the second XJ L I have owned. Having purchased a White/Black one right off the line and then wanting something a little darker. I had the lights and rear markers smoked out as you can see in the picture at a cost of $1000 bucks. They look awesome. I cannot tell you how many stares this car gets from people, it's ridiculous. I didn't buy it for gawkers, I bought it because it rides awesome and I travel in the state a lot. I realize everyone says, 'these are all highway miles', but I had three businesses. One in Panama City, one in Gainesville and I live in Tampa. I traveled to/from PC 10+ times easy in this car. When I say 70% of the miles are highway 75, I mean it. I have put 4k miles on it in the last year since we sold our two companies out of town and I know work from home. If you are looking at this vehicle, you already know what it is. I realize there are other cars selling for less on here, but they are silly color combos, like green/tan, or blue/tan. This is a black/black/black/black car that looks/feels brand new. We are getting a boat. I want something I can tow it with. Only reason I am selling. It has been serviced locally at Jaguar of Tampa, where I bought it, where the sale will probably be consummated. Meaning. I get a tax break if I sell it from a dealership if I am buying a new car (it's technically considered a trade I am told). You won't pay any fees, it will be as if you bought it directly from my home.

As per shipping. I have no problem helping you get it shipped. I know many shipping companies and would say it would be anywhere from $250 South Florida, to $900 west coast. I'll help you ship it overseas if you want (done it before) as I live on Tampa Bay next to the port. Short of trying to pay me with a fake cashiers check drawn on a Nigerian Bank, I don't care where you want the car sent, or how you want to pay me - as long as its yours and clears.

On top of the normal accompaniments... the vehicle came integrated with the dual rear seat entertainment system (a $3200 option) and the upgraded wood trim ($1200). If you tried to build this car today, the portfolio addition, it would run you over $90k. I'm selling for almost half that. The entertainment system has a handheld, touch screen remote that any 2 year old with an iPhone can use. It has dual wireless headphones and you can play two completely different shows on both monitors. And yes, it does have the rear trays. This is the long wheel base edition.

Besides that. I had an Escort Passport 9500 installed, hardwired, into the car, it is not included, but I can sell it with the car for an additional $300 dollars. That's a steal as they are still $600, plus $100 for the direct wire cord and $200 to install it. It works famously and has saved me from many a speed trap.

That's about it. Feel free to ask me as many questions as you'd like.

Disclaimer about condition of vehicle:

1) There are some light scratches on the vehicle... I mean light. There is one 4 inch long scratch on the drivers side rear quarter panel which I tried to get with the camera as clearly as I could.

2) My wife drives this car and she has, on occasion, hit the rim to the curb, again, you can see how light it is. It is barely noticeable

3) The interior has never been smoked in. I wont let someone get in until the exhale their smoke for a few minutes (I'm allergic to smoke).

4) There are no rips in the seats, floor, carpet, headliner

5) There are no stains on the seats, floors, etc.

6) Everything works perfectly. I have had it in for service twice. Once to fix the remote for the entertainment system and once for the factory recall for the roof that affected every Jaguar vehicle, even the ones brand new from the factory. The car is whisper quiet and has had the oil/car services at regular intervals at the Jaguar Dealership

7) Comes with two keys

That's about it.

If you have any questions. LMK. I'm quick to reply to emails provided it isn't 4am.

Happy hunting!

Jaguar Land Rover tech tracks brainwaves, heart, lungs

Wed, Jun 17 2015

Jaguar Land Rover has been on a bit of a tech kick lately, and its latest is called Mind Sense, which uses biometric sensors to monitor and enhance the driver's level of alertness. Jaguar is installing brainwave sensors adapted from NASA into the steering wheel of an XJ sedan, along with medical-grade heart and respiratory sensors in the seat. Together, the sensors would determine if the driver is focused on the road, dozing off, merely thinking about something else, or if the driver's stress level suddenly peaks. The system would enable the vehicle to better prepare for an emergency, or for a future autonomous vehicle to hand off control to a better-prepared driver where needed. At the same time, JLR is also working on an enhanced infotainment system designed to reduce the amount of time the driver's hands are off the wheel and their eyes are off the road. The system determines which control they're reaching for on the display and engages it while their finger is still in mid-air, deploying an ultrasonic pulse to provide artificial haptic feedback without actually having to touch anything. Finally, a new haptic accelerator pedal is under development that could alert the driver to respond to an impending situation without overloading the senses with chimes and beeps. These latest developments follow the demonstration of a remote-control system installed on a Range Rover Sport, and follow in a long line of new technologies under development by the British automaker. JAGUAR LAND ROVER ROAD SAFETY RESEARCH INCLUDES BRAIN WAVE MONITORING TO IMPROVE DRIVER CONCENTRATION AND REDUCE ACCIDENTS - Jaguar Land Rover's pioneering Mind Sense project is researching measuring brainwaves to monitor driver concentration in the car - Researchers are developing a Wellness Seat in a Jaguar XJ which analyses the driver's heart rate and breathing to monitor driver health and stress - Touchscreens that predict which button you want to press as the user's fingers are in mid-air - to minimise time spent with eyes off the road - Jaguar Land Rover researchers use new haptic accelerator pedal to communicate hazards to the driver Whitley, UK: Jaguar Land Rover has revealed a range of new road safety technology research projects that are being developed to reduce the number of accidents caused by drivers who are stressed, distracted and not concentrating on the road ahead.

Jaguar crossover to be named F-Pace [w/video]

Mon, Jan 12 2015

Remember when the Apple iPad came out, and even reclusive Myanmar tribes were signing up for the Internet just so they could comment, "What kind of @#$%^ name is that?" But now, no one thinks "iPad" is unusual. Well, maybe the name of the new Jaguar crossover, F-Pace, will be like that. Maybe. We're told it was christened after worshipping at the altars of the F-Type and the company tagline, "Grace, Pace and Space" coined by founding father Sir William Lyons. The rest of it shouldn't give pause, though. Called a "performance crossover," the production version of the CX-17 concept will have five seats and be built on the firm's new aluminum-intensive platform. It's promised to have an "advanced suspension system" that incorporates both Jaguar's Instinctive All Wheel Drive and All Surface Progress Control tech, the latter being a low-speed cruise control for handling slippery surfaces, touted on the coming XE R-Sport model. Unfortunately, we've been told the production F-Pace won't actually get a Detroit Auto Show reveal, despite the video leading us to believe that will be the case. However, the CUV is well into development testing and will hit showrooms next year. So get ready. For the F-Pace. There's video above, you can click on the inset image to begin acquainting yourself with that name, and a press release below has a few more particulars. JAGUAR F-PACE: AN ALL-NEW PERFORMANCE CROSSOVER TO JOIN LINE-UP IN 2016 - Jaguar announces F-PACE – the production version of the breakthrough C-X17 concept car - A highly-efficient five-seat performance crossover underpinned by Jaguar's innovative aluminium-intensive architecture and advanced suspension system - All-weather and dynamic driving traction to be aided by the Instinctive All Wheel Drive® system and Jaguar's All Surface Progress Control technology* - The Jaguar F-PACE will deliver an unrivalled blend of style, performance and practicality (MAHWAH, NJ) – January 11, 2015 – Jaguar has today confirmed it will introduce an all-new model to the Jaguar line-up, to go on-sale in 2016, named the Jaguar F-PACE. Ian Callum, Director of Design, Jaguar, commented, "We received such an overwhelmingly positive response to the C-X17 concept car last year that we just had to make it a reality. "The Jaguar F-PACE, inspired by the F-TYPE, represents a perfectly judged balance of style, performance and practicality.

Jaguar Land Rover and Cambridge have developed a touchless touchscreen

Thu, Jul 23 2020

Jaguar Land Rover and the University of Cambridge are working on new touchscreen technology that eliminates the need to touch the screen. Counterintuitive, right? It’s called “predictive touch” for now, in part because the system is able to predict what you might be aiming for on the screen.  The video at the top of this post is the best way to understand how users will interact with the tech, but weÂ’ll do some more explaining here. You simply reach out with your finger pointing toward the item on screen that you want to select. ItÂ’ll highlight the item and then select it. HereÂ’s how it works, according to the University of Cambridge: “The technology uses machine intelligence to determine the item the user intends to select on the screen early in the pointing task, speeding up the interaction. It uses a gesture tracker, including vision-based or radio frequency-based sensors, which are increasingly common in consumer electronics; contextual information such as user profile, interface design, environmental conditions; and data available from other sensors, such as an eye-gaze tracker, to infer the userÂ’s intent in real time.” Cambridge claims that lab tests showed a 50 percent reduction in both effort and time by the driver in using the screen, which would theoretically translate to more time looking at the road and less time jabbing away at the screen. If the prediction and machine learning tech is good enough, we could see this resulting in a reduced number of accidental inputs. However, on a certain level it almost sounds more difficult to point at a screen while moving than it does to actually touch a section of that screen. Without using the tech and its supposedly great predictive abilities, we canÂ’t come to any grand conclusions. One comparison you may already be thinking of is BMWÂ’s Gesture Controls. ItÂ’s already been addressed with a subtle diss from Cambridge: “Our technology has numerous advantages over more basic mid-air interaction techniques or conventional gesture recognition, because it supports intuitive interactions with legacy interface designs and doesnÂ’t require any learning on the part of the user,” said Dr Bashar Ahmad of the University of Cambridge. Of course, this tech can be used for much more than just vehicle touchscreen control. Cambridge says it could be integrated into ATMs, airport check-in kiosks, grocery store self checkouts and more.
