2004 Jaguar X-type Base Sedan 4-door 2.5l on 2040-cars
North Salem, New York, United States
I am the original owner of this immaculate condition 2004 Jaguar X-type. Everything in it works well from radio to Cold air conditioning to power windows and door locks. The original New Jaguar Descriptive Window Sticker is photographed showing all options of this vehicle including original price of $30,590.00 and expected gas mileage. I bought this in the fall of 2004 it was, for the first 7 years of ownership, always a second weekend vehicle for me so mileage is very low for age. Always serviced at Mt Kisco Jaguar until they moved to White Plains so I used a closer foreign car specialist for convenience. It has a couple of very minor door nicks on driver side door and passenger door has one. One small ding on top from hail I think and one small chip in glass on passenger side, the front windshield passes NYS inspection with no problem which is why I have not replaced windshield. The Michelin tires are all the same vintage and will likely need to be replaced in the next 10,000 miles. A new set at Costco depending upon make Bridgestone or Michelin range from $425 to $525 when purchased at their regularly advertised promotionals that include a $70 discount on the purchase of 4 tires. In the past year it has had installed new brakes and rotors, three new brake calipers, partial new exhaust system and stick shift cables. This all wheel drive vehicle is great in the snow and in wet and icy road conditions. I have always kept it clean both outside and inside and have always had extra rubber floor mats to protect the black Jaguar mats and carpeting. Never smoked in or driven by anyone else but me and very infrequently by my wife. The Only reason I am selling is after 10 years of ownership I am ready for a change. Sold as is with no warranty expressed or implied. Available for local inspection. If a dealer had this car for sale based on age, condition and mileage it would be price at $10,000 and quite possibly more. My reserve is well below this for a quick sale! Car is driven daily so mileage goes up a little every day. Currently at 84,880 miles.
On Jun-19-14 at 08:08:29 PDT, seller added the following information: I have tried to describe this vehicles condition as accurately as possible. I may have overlooked something so please keep in mind that it is a 2004 Jaguar so it is not a new car. |

Jaguar shows off production XE body in camo
Sun, 18 May 2014Jaguar turned to Twitter and Facebook to reveal the production form of its coming XE sedan that we'll see for real at the Paris Motor Show. This is the first of a series of show-offs, Jaguar planning to wrap the bodywork in see-through camo that shows off the aluminum monocoque and other internals the company will use to promote the XE over its German rivals. That aluminum structure, which Jaguar calls iQ[Al], will also be used for other Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles.
Underneath that long bonnet and ahead of that terribly short trunk will come a series of Ingenium engines, the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engines in diesel and petrol forms that will come in a variety of power options, and the 3.0-liter supercharged V6 that can also be found in the F-Type. Before the XE goes on sale early next year, you can click the image above to get a slightly larger view of what the The Leaping Cat's near future looks like.
2014 Jaguar XKR-S GT claws at the driving enthusiast in us
Wed, 27 Mar 2013If you still find yourself coming up a few seconds short per lap in your Jaguar XKR-S, the British automaker has introduced the XKR-S GT - a cat specifically tuned for the racing circuit - at the New York Auto Show.
While Jaguar has left the supercharged 5.0-liter V8 unchanged (550 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque), it has tuned and tweaked all the items that really make cars go quicker on the track (e.g. suspension, aerodynamics, contact patches, brakes). A once-over reveals upgraded go-fast goodies including a new ventilated hood, extended wheel arch spats, reworked front end with a bespoke front splitter and canards, a massive rear wing, height-adjustable adaptive dampers, active exhaust, carbon-ceramic brakes and sticky Pirelli Corsa tires. Try as we might, the driver in us can't find anything we not to like about this enthusiast-tuned coupe.
Of course all of the upgraded XK goodness doesn't come easy, or cheap. Jaguar will limit North American sales to just 30 units and price each at $174,000. Learn all the juicy details in the official press release below.
2016 Jaguar XJ sedan revealed
Mon, Jun 15 2015Jaguar has been steadily updating its sedan lineup, launching the entry-level XE and a new version of the mid-range XF – and now it's revealed an refreshed version of its flagship XJ. A facelifted version of the existing model (which was first launched in 2009 and arrived in the US in 2011), the 2016 Jaguar XJ benefits from a few key enhancements to keep it current. The principal visual updates revolve around the exterior lighting, which now includes full LED headlights, new daytime running lights and redesigned LED tail lights. There are new oval exhaust tips as well, but some of the most vital updates have been carried out inside. The refreshed interior includes a new InControl Touch Pro touchscreen infotainment system, with multi-touch control and backed up by a 60-gig solid-state hard drive. A new 17-speaker Meridian sound system comes standard, and the instrument cluster has been redesigned as well. The XJ also benefits from Jaguar's All-Surface Progress Control system and a raft of driver assistance features. Rear-drive models also get a new electric power-assisted steering rack and semi-automated parking system. Between engine options, drivetrain choices, wheelbase lengths, and trim levels, the updated XJ continues to offer an array of configurations – and Jaguar has worked to further differentiate them from one another. The base model carries the 340-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 and can be specified with rear- or all-wheel drive. There are regular and long wheelbase versions, and in R-Sport and Portfolio trim lines (the former now coming standard in the shorter car). Though the entire range is supercharged, the model designated as the XJ Supercharged packs a 470-hp version of the company's celebrated 5.0-liter force-fed V8, while the performance flagship XJR packs the same engine but with 550 hp (once again in either wheelbase) and now comes standard with the Black Pack. The 2016 Jaguar XJ is slated to reach US showrooms this fall. The updates will surely go a long way towards keeping Coventry's flagship sedan in the game for longer until an all-new model is ready. The question is whether these updates will be enough to keep the XJ competitive against the newer BMW 7 Series, Mercedes S-Class, and Maserati Quattroporte. Or for that matter with the Audi A8 that's just as old but was also recently refreshed, or the Lexus LS that's been around for longer with similar updates along the way.
