VERY HARD TO FIND 2003 JAGUAR STYPE R WITH ONLY 71950 MILES. LESS THAN 5000 WERE IMPORTED PER YEAR. BEAUTIFUL 400HP SPORTS SEDAN, OWN A 60K CAR WHEN NEW FOR A FRACTION OF THE PRICE. IN THE LAST YEAR HAD THE 60K SERVICE DONE, TIRES IN GREAT SHAPE, ALL PULLEYS AND BELTS REPLACED, NEW SPARK PLUGS, NEW ELECTRONIC FRONT STRUTS, NEW BATTERY, 2 KEYS, K&N AIR FILTER AND LOW TEMP PERFORMANCE THERMOSTAT. I HAVE A NEW SET OF FRONT BRAKES THAT I WILL THROW IN WITH THE SALE, BUT IT SHOULDN'T NEED NEW BRAKES FOR ANOTHER YEAR OR TWO, DONE ABOUT 15000 MILES AGO. A FEW SCRATCHES HERE AND THERE, BUT PAINT IS IN GREAT SHAPE. WHEELS HAVE SOME NORMAL CURB SCUFFS. INTERIOR IS IN GREAT SHAPE, NO TEARS IN LEATHER, AC WORKS GREAT, SEATS AND WINDOWS WORK GREAT. VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN SMOKED IN AS FAR AS I KNOW. OVERALL VERY NICE FOR A 10 YEAR OLD CAR, WOULD LOVE TO KEEP IT BUT NEED AN SUV. IT WOULD HAVE NO TROUBLE DRIVING ACROSS THE COUNTRY IF YOU LIVE OUT OF STATE, VERY DEPENDIBLE. IT LEAKS A FEW DROPS OF OIL EVERY OTHER NIGHT, COMMON LEAK COMING FROM THE PAN, PRETTY COMMON JAGUAR ISSUE, WOULDN'T BE HARD TO FIX BUT IT HAS NEVER BUGGED ME. THE ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE HAS A MINOR ISSUE, I HAVE IT DISABLED RIGHT NOW SINCE I NEVER USE THE PARKING BRAKE ANYWAYS, SOMETIMES IT WORKS, SOMETIMES IT WILL BUZZ WHEN IN PARK, ALSO A PRETTY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS, JUST NEEDS A RESET AT A JAGUAR DEALER. YOU COULD PROBABLY FIX BOTH ISSUES FOR A FEW HUNDRED BUCKS. CAN MEET YOU AT THE AIRPORT IF NEEDED. YOU'RE NOT GOING TO FIND A NICER CAR FOR UNDER 10K WITH UNDER 100K MILES. KBB IS 10K IN GOOD CONDITION, TITLE IN HAND, VIN SAJEA03V231M57385 CLEAN TITLE. I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END AUCTION EARLY IF IT SELLS LOCALLY BEFORE AUCTION ENDS. THANKS, SHANE

Jaguar design boss admits X-Type was a mistake
Thu, 19 Sep 2013History has a way of repeating itself, especially in the auto industry. When Jaguar was owned by Ford, the British brand attempted to field a competitor for the BMW 3 Series, called the X-Type. Based on the bones of a Ford Mondeo, it aped the styling of Jaguar's flagship model, the XJ, while borrowing liberally from the Ford parts bin. That was 2001.
Now, in 2013, Jaguar is planning a new 3 Series challenger based on the platform previewed by the C-X17 Concept, while Ford is attempting to take the latest Mondeo upmarket. The moves have both brands recognizing where, why, and how the X-Type failed. "It didn't look mature or powerful or anything. It was just a car," Jaguar's current head of advanced design, Julian Thomson, told PistonHeads. Basing the X-Type on a front-drive car while giving it styling that was meant for a rear-driver lead to proportions that "were plainly wrong," Thomson told PH. Ford's European head of quality, Gunnar Herrmann, added that the X-Type was "a fake Jaguar, because every piece I touch is Ford."
For what it's worth, the X-Type's successor in the segment will sport rear-drive, with plenty of input from Ian Callum. Thomson described the new model, which would challenge the 3 Series as having, "Big wheels right to the ends of the car, low bonnet, short overhangs, very low cabins." Sounds good to us.
Ferrari exec to lead Jaguar North America
Tue, 06 Aug 2013Jaguar has announced that Jeff Curry will be serving as the brand's new North American vice president, effective August 13. The move is a coup for Jag, which lured Curry away from his previous posting as VP of marketing for Ferrari North America, and is further evidence of just how strong Jaguar's comeback has gotten.
Curry has spent over 20 years in the auto industry, and has worked with Audi, SiriusXM and Land Rover, where he made his start in the industry. His primary responsibilities with Jaguar will cover marketing communications, customer relationship management, and product planning.
Jaguar Land Rover's North American president, Andy Goss, heaped praise on the brand's newest addition saying, "Jeff brings with him extensive automotive and luxury marketing experience, critical expertise in leading-edge technologies and a personal passion for automobiles."
Xcar focuses on famed Jaguar test driver Norman Dewis
Fri, Jun 26 2015If you have any interest at all in motoring history, especially when it comes to European sports car racing from the '50s and '60s, do absolutely whatever you can to set aside 38 minutes for this interview with former Jaguar test driver Norman Dewis from XCar. Dewis had a hand in developing the British brand's vehicles from 1952 to 1985, and as expected over that time, he amassed some fantastic stories. Xcar did a great job of teasing a few of those great tales out of him here. From the very beginning, Dewis was gifted with a natural talent to read a car as a test driver. When he was just 16, he was taken out on his first chance to evaluate a vehicle and picked out even more intricacies than his instructor. Dewis eventually wound up at Jaguar, and that's where his career really took off. Among his many accomplishments there, he had a role in developing disc brakes both for racing and the road, set multiple world top speed records, and helped bring the E-Type to the world. Dewis even made the famous overnight drive in an XKE convertible from England to display it at the Geneva Motor Show. Dewis tells a first-hand account of being in the Jaguar paddock during the tragic accident during the 1955 24 Hours of Le Mans that took the lives of dozens of spectators. It's a story that we usually can only read about or watch in black-and-white films. Hearing Dewis' side really brings this history to life.
