Stunning Jaguar E-Type Lightweight tribute featured by Petrolicious

This is a Series 1 Jaguar E-Type Coupe. Enzo Ferrari, Il Commendatore himself, called it "the most beautiful car ever made." It can count among its owners Steve McQueen, Brigitte Bardot and a number of other celebrities from the 1960s. It remains one of the prettiest and coolest cars ever.
While we don't normally prescribe to modifying classics like the E-Type, cars that are used for vintage racing, like this particular example, are certainly the exception. It's owned by Jason Len and is the subject of the latest video from the team at Petrolicious.
Len's 1964 E-Type has been fashioned to look like one of the rare Lightweight E-Types from 1963 and 1964. The aluminum-bodied E-Types, of which only a dozen were built, were all intended exclusively for racing, much like Len's heavily modified example. While it retains the 3.8-liter straight-six, its engine, transmission, suspension, brakes and body have been extensively tweaked and fettled to allow this classic Jag to compete with a field of V8s.

Jaguar Land Rover data leak reveals employee records, upcoming layoffs

A massive data leak has revealed the personnel files of hundreds of employees at Jaguar Land Rover's factory in Solihull, England. The documents reveal details such as sick days used, disciplinary issues and — most notably — red lines indicating potential firings in the weeks or months ahead. In total, the personal records of more than 600 workers were released. JLR is scrambling to contain the crisis. The breach was first reported by the Huffington Post UK, with the automaker initially claiming the story was "fake news." That publicity gaff certainly didn't help matters, especially for employees staring at their name with a red line slashed across it. Last month, the British automaker had said it would be eliminating roughly 1,000 employees at factories in the U.K. The Solihull plant, which produces models like the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Jaguar F-Pace and Jaguar XE, was among those mentioned in the statement. JLR, which is owned by the Indian conglomerate Tata Motors, is facing a steep drop in sales, particularly in its home market. The main culprits include a huge slump in sales of diesel-powered vehicles - a vital part of JLR's business in the U.K. and throughout Europe - along with fears about how the upcoming "Brexit" will affect business operations. In the HuffPost UK story, one worker called the situation "disgusting" and "embarrassing," adding that people at the factory now know whether they, or their colleagues, are soon due to lose their job. Watch the Jaguar F-Pace set a Guinness World Record for looping

On a chilly gray night in Germany, Jaguar officially leapt into the crossover segment. But it also reminded everyone its brand of grocery-getter will be anything but conventional. The 2017 F-Pace, which will launch next spring in the United States, debuted Monday evening at a glitzy event before the Frankfurt Motor Show. Rather than simply tear the cover off the car (you can watch that below), Jaguar sent a specially-prepped F-Pace blasting up a 63-foot-tall loop, setting a Guinness World Record in the process. Driven by British stunt driver Terry Grant, Jaguar said the F-Pace stood up against 6.5 Gs of gravity during the display. The stunt was meant to illustrate the F-Pace's poise, agility, and athletic nature. In fact, Jaguar is calling the vehicle the "ultimate practical sports car," instead of dwelling on the fact it's an SUV. Based on Jaguar's lightweight aluminum architecture, the F-Pace will arrive in America next year with two V6 engines rated at 340 horsepower or 380 hp. A new 2.0-liter diesel engine will join the lineup next fall, and serve as the entry-level model. It starts at $41,985. Related Video:
