2001 Jaguar S-type 3.0 V6 British Racing Green - Safe - Reliable - Clean - Fun!! on 2040-cars
Sioux Falls, South Dakota, United States
Looking for all the amenities of a luxury car without the price? This is it! The Jaguar Type S is one of the best handling sedans I have ever driven. It is plain and simply, just FUN to drive. This stunning sports sedan is wrapped in Jaguar's infamous British Racing Green with leather interior and wood grain finishing. The car has been a dream to own and turns heads, despite its age and condition.
The best part of this car, is that it shares many components with the Lincoln LS (Ford acquired Jaguar in 2000). Even with the luxurious nature of the car, maintaining it has been extremely affordable. The car has been driven by adult owners only and not been raced or modded. The car runs great, without leaking or burning oil and may be the only at this price without any rust. It has been garaged for the last six years and kept very clean. If you are interested please respond ASAP. I am prepared to sell it to the first interested buyer and will consider any reasonable offer. Here are a few more specs: 2001 Jaguar Type S with 178xxx miles 3.0L V6 (Premium gas) 240hp @ 6800 RPM 221torque @ 4500 RPM Air Bag-Frontal-Driver Air Bag-Frontal-Passenger Air Bag-Side Body-Front Brakes-ABS Brakes-Type-4 Wheel DISC Headlights-Automatic Security System Traction Control Fog Lamps Rear Window Defogger Wipers-Intermittent Air Conditioning-Auto Climate Control Air Conditioning-Front Air Conditioning-Multi-Zone Cruise Control Keyless Entry + 2 keys + 1 valet key (3 total) Max Seating Capacity: 5 Power Locks Power Sunroof Seat Trim-Leather Seat-Adjustable Lumbar-Driver Seat-Adjustable Lumbar-Passenger Seat-Power Driver (2 memory settings) Seat-Power Passenger Seat-Rear Pass-Through Seats-Front Bucket Steering Wheel-Adjustable Steering Wheel-Audio Controls Steering-Power Windows-Power All Aluminum wheels P225/55HR16 + full size spare (never used) |

Jaguar Land Rover proposes seats that scientifically massage your butt, for your health
Thu, Jan 16 2020Habitually sitting too long can degrade a person's health. Scientific research has proven that dormancy can increase the risk of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, deep-vein thrombosis, and metabolic syndrome, according to the Harvard Medical School. Although sitting can be avoided in many cases, such as using a standing desk at work, taking a seat is the only option when hopping in the car for a drive. Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is hoping to address this negative aspect of cars with a new high-tech seat that the company says mimics the act of walking. JLR calls the concept a shape-shifting, or morphable, seat system, and it is currently in a trial period with Jaguar Land Rover’s Body Interiors Research division. Using actuators built into the seat's foam, the seat will constantly be in motion with micro-adjustments that can be tuned to the needs of different people and body types. JLR believes it has created a system that recreates what is known as pelvic oscillation, a motion that can supposedly trick the brain into thinking the body is walking. In addition to helping to prevent internal health issues, JLR also notes that a sedentary lifestyle can degrade and shorten muscles in the legs, hips, and rear. If these muscles are worked on a regular basis, the chance and risk of injury and back issues could potentially be reduced. The new seats are just one of many car interior technologies JLR has explored. In the past, we've seen tech that tracks brainwaves and heart rates, creates augmented reality, helps prevent motion sickness, and helps stop the spread of germs. They've also taken the time to have an expert demonstrate the perfect seating position. Most of this stuff is experimental for now, but it's possible similar features could eventually trickle down to production cars, in time. See how the seat moves in the video below. Related Video:  Â
Jaguar reveals upcoming XE's InControl infotainment system [w/video]
Tue, 19 Aug 2014Jaguar has been keeping busy lately, rolling out both the new Lightweight E-Type and F-Type Project 7 at Pebble Beach this past weekend. But the more important project for the British automaker is the upcoming new XE.
Coventry has been releasing a steady stream of information and teasers on its new 3 Series challenger, and has now revealed details of the new infotainment system that will debut in the XE. Called InControl, the system centers around an eight-inch touchscreen and integrates with smartphones (running both iOS and Android) through the InControl Remote and InControl Apps. The system will allow drivers to pre-set the climate control for each day of the week, lock and unlock the doors and start the engine remotely.
It'll also include an on-board wifi hotspot to connect multiple devices and a laser-based head-up display that you can scope out in the graphic above as well as the video and press release below in advance of the XE's upcoming debut in London on September 8.
Audi and Jaguar Land Rover recalls address seatbelt issues
Tue, Aug 2 2022Audi and Jaguar Land Rover are each recalling several thousand vehicles for separate potential seatbelt issues. The recalls cover the 2022 Audi A3 and S3; 2022 Jaguar F-Type, F-Pace and XF; and the 2022-23 Land Rover Defender, Discovery, Discovery Sport, Range Rover Sport and Range Rover Velar. Examples of these vehicles may have shipped with seatbelt pretensioners that will not function properly in the event of an accident. Audi is recalling its sedans for tensioner devices that may not adequately restrain drivers or passengers during a crash. The issue was discovered during Korean market crash testing of the high-performance RS 3. "The seat belt tensioner in the affected vehicles serve the purpose of holding the passenger in his position in the seat," Audi said in its defect report to NHTSA. "In the event of a crash, the retention force of the seat belt may not reach the intended level. As a result, the position of the body can be further to the front of the seat, which leads to a negative influence on the whole restraint system, increasing the risk of injury." A different company, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), meanwhile, also has an issue with a batch of pretensioners installed in its cars and SUVs. Pretensioners are the devices that fire off to rapidly retract the seatbelt when a crash is detected. Most utilize an explosive charge and pressure tube JLR says that some pretensioner devices provided by one of its suppliers may not have properly-specified pressure tubes that may not channel the gasses to the retraction mechanism correctly. "A damaged front seat belt pretensioner tube may have been installed on the seat belt retractor," JLR's report said. "This may result in a reduced level or complete loss of pre-tensioning in the event of a crash and increased occupant injury." Owners of the models included in both recall campaigns should receive notices from the manufacturers in the coming months. Related video: Recalls Audi Jaguar Land Rover Ownership Safety SUV Sedan
