1966 JAGUAR XKE (OTS or Open Two Seater)

After many years of being part of a private collection, this well loved E-Type is now being offered for sale. It is equipped with the desirable 4.2-liter engine, triple carburetors improved braking system and most importantly, the all four speed syncromesh gearbox, as per its late Series I specification.
The restoration was completed in 2003 and  performed by Buckingham Motors Jaguar specialists, which was owned and operated by Harry Warn for over 20 years on Grissom Lane in Dallas, Texas and was well known for his classic English car specialties. Primarily restoration of classic Jaguar : X120, XJ150, Mark 2 and E-types. Harry Warn retired by 2005 to the Chesepeake Bay area in Maryland at the age of seventy.  Exterior is finished in Red, with a black leather interior and a vinyl soft top.
The mechanical systems have been restored to original spec and serviced; an improvement on the cooling system had been made by professionally fitting a high capacity aluminum radiator and high output alternator for dependable electric performance as well the exhaust manifold has been powder coated and specially designed to keep heat away from the engine. Additionally, the spoked wheels have been chromed over stainless steel for lifetime rust free assurance. Everything functions as designed with excellent compression and performance. The car runs, drives and handles very well with all systems working properly. Its chassis and engine numbers match with the original Manufacturer's Warranty Card Documents (included). Since the car was originally sold in 1966 it has had only three Texas owners, always garaged, well treated, properly maintained.

Jaguar F-Type SVR set to go topless

Wed, Aug 19 2015

Jaguar's sultry F-Type convertible will soon be getting sharper claws. We've captured the high-powered SVR variant during track testing, and these spy shots show huge air intakes and a prominent splitter up front. They're balanced at the rear with a massive spoiler and a central diffuser that breaks up the angled, jutting exhaust pipes. The cloth top is also evident, and it's presence has been expected. Previously, we spied the hardtop variant. This prototype looks ready for production, with the bodywork screwed down and the head- and taillights peering out. Even the black wheels with thin spokes wouldn't look out of place on the street. We also see the cross-drilled carbon-ceramic brakes. These massive stoppers will be required to slow down the 5.0-liter supercharged V8, which could make 600 horsepower. That blows by the 550-hp F-Type R and the limited production F-Type Project 7 (575 hp). The Project 7 can hit 60 miles per hour in 3.8 seconds, and we'd expect the SVR model to eclipse that figure. The F-Type SVR and its convertible sibling are part of Jaguar's strategy to remain to true to its sporting heritage – the company counts seven Le Mans victories – while adding vehicles like the F-Pace crossover and XE sedan to adapt to modern consumer preferences. Jaguar CEO says people just don't want EVs right now

Mon, Jun 22 2015

"Customers are not impressed with it currently." These are the words of one Ralf Speth, CEO of Jaguar Land Rover, spoke at the Automotive News Europe Congress in Birmingham, England. The "it" Speth is referring to is battery technology, which he characterized as "too heavy, too expensive," and with power density that's "too low." That all could go some way towards explaining why the British automaker has yet to bring an electric vehicle to market, why it killed the C-X75 hybrid-turbine supercar project, and why it only recently started offering hybrid versions of its Range Rover models (and has yet to offer them in the United States). That doesn't mean the company won't pursue electric propulsion in the future, though. According to Automotive News Europe, Speth forecasts that "the next generation of batteries will be higher density, lower weight and the cost will come down." What he didn't say, exactly, is when he expects that next generation of battery tech to come around – or when JLR will start to more closely embrace electric propulsion. In the meantime, Jaguar Land Rover will continue investing in research and development. Since Tata acquired the brands from Ford seven years ago, JLR has quadrupled its R&D budget and doubled the number of engineers on staff. Related Video:

Aston and Jag from James Bond Spectre have at it

Sun, May 3 2015

Daniel Craig hasn't made a bad James Bond film yet. Spectre is his next step into the iconic role that's due to hit theaters on November 6, and it doesn't look likely to ruin his streak. Still, that's a long wait for such an exciting movie. If you're willing to possibly spoil just a little for yourself, a new featurette shows part of one of the big car chases right now. From what we've seen so far, the chase through Rome in Spectre has earned a good amount of screen time. While the reason for it in the plot is a mystery, that doesn't really matter anyway. What's important is that the scene stars Bond in the Aston Martin DB10 and a villain played by Dave Bautista in the now supercharged V8-powered version of the Jaguar C-X75 racing around the Italian capital's tight streets at night. This clip gives a glimpse at some of the work necessary to get the difficult filming completed. We've seen some of that effort before, though, when footage of the preparation for one shot leaked out. Craig reportedly sustained a pretty bad bump on the head during the shooting, and an earlier rumor also suggested that Bond might get behind the wheel of a Fiat 500 at some point in the scene.
