WE ARE ASSISTING WITH THE SALE OF THIS 1970 JAGUAR XKE..............THAT STARTED LIFE AS A 2+2 COUPE WITH A AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION.
IT WAS PURCHASED BY THE CURRENT OWNER 15 YEARS AGO.
DURING THAT TIME HE HAS CONVERTED IT TO A STANDARD SHIFT TRANSMISSION ACCOMPANIED BY AN ALUMINUM FLYWHEEL WITH THE BALANCE OF THE PARTS BEING  ALL JAGUAR, INCLUDING AN E TYPE GEARBOX.

THE ENGINE WAS COMPLETELY REBUILT USING ISKY CAMS OVER A FRESH VALVE JOB AND NEW PISTONS, RINGS, BEARINGS, OIL PUMP, ETC AND THE INTAKE MANIFOLD AND CARBURETORS WERE UPGRADE TO TRIPLE 2" SU'S. AND A SET OF FREE FLOW TUBULAR HEADERS WERE INSTALLED

THE REAR END AND REAR BRAKES WERE COMPLETELY REFURBISHED INCLUDING A GEAR CHANGE TO 2:88 WHICH MAKE THIS CAR A GREAT HIGHWAY CRUISER.

HE ALSO ADDED AN ORIGINAL JAGUAR HARDTOP.

THE MAJORITY OF THIS WAS DONE DURING THE FIRST FEW YEARS OF OWNERSHIP BUT BECAUSE THE CAR HAS ONLY BEEN USED DURING THE SHORT SUMMER MONTHS HERE IN NEW ENGLAND IT HAS NOT ACCUMULATED THAT MANY MILES. LAST YEAR IT WAS ONLY USED ABOUT 400 MILES.

THE CAR RUNS REAL STRONG AND IS FAST COMPARED TO A STOCK 1970'S  JAG AS A RESULT OF THE CAMS, CARBURETORS, ALUMINUM FLYWHEEL AND THE REAR END GEAR RATIO.

THE PAINT IS GOOD BUT THERE ARE SOME FLAWS WHICH WE TRIED TO SHOW IN THE PICTURES. THERE ARE NO FRONT BUMPERS AND THE REARS COULD USE A RE-PLATE. THE WHEELS AND TIRES ARE DECENT. ALL OF THE INSTRUMENTS WORK. THERE IS NO CLOCK. THERE IS A TONNEAU COVER THAT CAN BE FITTED WHEN THE HARD TOP IS REMOVED BUT THERE IS NO CONVERTIBLE TOP OR TOP FRAME. THESE CAN BE HAD ON BAY IF SO DESIRED.

TWO YEARS AGO  HE HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE GEARBOX SO THAT WAS REMOVED AND REBUILT AND A NEW CLUTCH WAS INSTALLED.

IT HAS NEVER FAILED TO START AND IS A BLAST TO DRIVE.

THIS MORPHED JAGUAR IS BEING OFFERED AT A FRACTION OF THE COST TO DO THE ABOVE MENTIONED WORK NOT INCLUDING THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE PRICE OF THE CAR.

YES IT IS A CONVERTED CAR AND YES IT NEEDS A BIT OF TLC BUT YOU WILL NOT FIND A RUNNING, DRIVING, DECENT LOOKING OPEN E TYPE FOR THIS LOW... LOW PRICE. WE HAVE SOLD CARS THAT NEEDED 10'S OF THOUSAND OF DOLLARS FOR MORE THAN WHAT HIS CAR IS BEING OFFERED FOR.

IT NEEDS ONLY A SMALL AMOUNT OF $$ AND ATTENTION TO BRING IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL AND YOU WILL  STILL BE INTO IT FOR LESS THAN A BEAST THAT NEEDS RESTORATION

Recharge Wrap-up: Jaguar's aluminum recycling, lithium demand rises

Sun, May 1 2016

Jaguar Land Rover has recycled over 50 metric tons of aluminum over the past year. As Jaguar celebrates a year of sales of the XE – which makes use of recycled aluminum – its closed loop recycling program has prevented some 500,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions. The XE is the first car in Jaguar's REALCAR (short for REcycled ALuminium CAR) program, and the company says it has recycled an amount equal to almost 200,000 XE body shells. "Its success so far marks a significant step towards our goal of having up to 75 percent recycled aluminium content in our vehicle body structures by 2020," says Group Engineering Director Nick Rogers. Check out the video above, and read more from Jaguar. Electric vehicle manufacturers are putting a strain on lithium supplies. Since the metal is used in the batteries of most electric vehicles, demand is expected to grow by 8.8 percent a year through 2019. While Tesla has deals with natural resource companies Pure Energy Minerals and Bacanora Minerals, they won't be able to keep up with the automaker's goal of 500,000 EVs by 2020. Tesla, BYD, and other EV manufacturers are going to be competing for these resources, and new lithium firms will enter the market to compete for automakers' business. Read more in the press release or the blog post from Market Research. Connecticut's Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) has announced a new funding opportunity for building public EV charging infrastructure. DEEP is accepting applications from private entities for awards of up to $10,000 for installing a public dual-head charger or two single-head chargers, for up to 17 new charging stations. It prefers proposals for underserved areas with major traffic, such as downtowns. Connecticut has a goal of putting 3.3 million EVs on the road by 2025. Read more in the notice from DEEP, or visit DEEP's website. Car clubs are responsible for the removal of about 25,000 cars from London roads. According to a new survey, every club car removes 10 private cars, as club members sell their own vehicles. The survey of 4,000 Londoners also shows that carsharing members drive an average of 750 fewer miles every year after joining. London is currently home to 186,000 car club members using 2,800 cars, while the UK's 220,000 club members use over 3,800 club cars. Also, many car clubs offer access to electric vehicles, which helps to further reduce emissions.

2018 Jaguar F-Pace S Long-Term Review | Wrapping up our six-month test

Mon, Mar 5 2018

It's been six months since our long-term 2018 Jaguar F-Pace S arrived to warm our hands and hearts. Jaguar's most popular model with consumers was equally popular with the Autoblog staff. We drove it 13,000 miles and would continue to rack up more if Jaguar would just let us keep the keys. It was a great follow-up to our fuel-efficient but slightly gutless 2017 Jaguar XE diesel. Our Caesium Blue bomber is loaded with nearly every option. That includes heated seats front and rear, a black package that swaps out chrome for black trim, and a full-size spare (that takes up a lot space). The S model's supercharged 3.0-liter V6 sends 380 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic. All in, our F-Pace S will set you back $74,640. Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore: I spent a lot of time in the F-Pace this year. It's powerful, sporty, looks sharp (love the lively blue-purple paint) and has a solid interior. The styling resonated with me. I think Jaguar design boss Ian Callum and team nailed the proportions and curves. A crossover was sure to be controversial with Jag loyalists, but it's beautiful, and the reasoning for joining the SUV fray is ironclad. Everybody from Ferrari to Porsche is there. I appreciated the driving dynamics. The steering has decent feedback, the engine sounds good and has energy, and you ride just high enough to feel in command. The Jaguar DNA comes through. I took it to a tailgate, where I was boxed in and had to be the guy in the Jaguar who asks people to move so he can leave early. Cutting through rows of tailgaters in a purple Jag with black wheels isn't exactly subtle. But the car was versatile. I put tons of groceries in the back. My dog enjoyed the second row. It was good in snow. All the things you want in a crossover. The F-Pace was one of the more memorable long-termers we've had at Autoblog. It was fun to drive and stayed in high demand, even after we'd had it for months. It's not perfect. The interior was a little plain, and I don't love the infotainment, but in its first attempt at a crossover — Jaguar nailed it. Senior Editor, Green John Beltz Snyder: While I found it comfortable for long highway drives Up North, this thing is absolutely ferocious in Dynamic Mode with the gear selector set to S. The paddles amp up the fun. It really changed the character of this cat, and I was always surprised by the transformation. I got a lot of looks in the F-Pace.

Jaguar will sell 10 fully restored Series 1 E-Types

Fri, Mar 31 2017

The Jaguar Land Rover "Reborn" program is expanding its offerings yet again. The newest offering is the first from the Jaguar side of the company, and naturally the first car is a Series 1 E-Type. Jaguar Classic will restore 10 of the first-generation E-Types, and the cars will be sold directly to consumers from the company. The very first of the cars is the 1965 model you see above, which will make its public debut next week at the Techno-Classica Essen show in Germany. It's a 4.2-liter model finished in "Opalescent Gunmetal Grey." According to Jaguar, it was originally sent to California where it racked up 78,000 miles, and then was put into storage in 1983. Jaguar then acquired the car, and the Jaguar Classic department proceeded to restore it to factory specifications. Jaguar fixed and retained as many original parts as possible, and used replacement Jaguar Classic parts as needed. The car is fully numbers-matching with the original engine and transmission. If you're interested in purchasing this E-Type, or one of the other nine, you'd better have a hefty pocketbook. A standard restored car done to factory specs will start at about $355,000 at current exchange rates. If you want to spend more, Jaguar offers a few extra cost options such as an upgraded cooling system based on the one found in the Lightweight E-Type, a fully synchromesh transmission for early models without it, and upgraded front brake calipers from the later Series 2 E-Type.
