MotorCarTrader.com is thrilled to present this special, early model 1972 Jaguar E-type Series III V12 Roadster. This car was built on March 27 of 1972. This was the 274th Jaguar E-type Series III OTS (Open Two Seater) LHD car produced. This great Jaguar was dispatched on April 14 of 1972. The original colors of this great car are Signal red with Black interior. This is a matching numbers car. We sold this car in 2001 and recently acquired back from the owner who had the car since 2001 (we sold this car to him in 2001). He placed about 1,500 miles on the car since (from October 2001 to November 2013). Prior to his ownership (pre 2001), the car was in a large collection until our initial purchase in 2001.
This truly is one of the nicer upper level driver V12 Roadsters you will find anywhere. As we understand, it was restored on an excellent original car prior to our initial ownership in 2001 and driven sparingly since. The previous owner was unable to drive this car and it sat for about a year before we purchased the car back in the fall of 2013. Below are some of the work we did to the car and work done by a Jaguar V12 specialist. Also, more details on this truly excellent Jaguar E-type Roadster:
A new complete stainless steel exhaust system installed with a new quad fantail (resonator) in chrome.
New electronic ignition installed with new champion plugs, new coil, new rotor, new ignition pick up and new cap.
Fuel drained and Stromberg carburetors completely rebuilt with new floats and carb rebuilt kits.
New (original type) Electronic Fuel pump installed.
Cooling system drained. New water tank installed and fresh coolant added.
New thermostat installed.
New rebuilt AC compressor installed with new hoses.
FREON Level Charged and checked for leaks. Blows cold AC.
New Clutch master cylinder installed and system bled.
New transmission mount installed.
Koni Shocks installed.
Underside, floors, rear end and pan completely degreased before new SS exhaust install. The underside was then, cleaned, detailed and re-sprayed (pictures available before and after).
All switches, gauges and wiring gone through.
New rubber floor mats.
Valve Cover gaskets replaced as well as the Cam Towers resealed to prevent oil leaking on manifolds and exhaust (a common problem for v12 e-types which will lead to smoking). Valves were inspected at this time. New water outlet o’rings installed.
The engine is excellent with great compression of 155 to 165 psi across all 12 cylinders. A lot of V12s do not have this consistent compression across all 12 cylinders and this engine is very, very strong. The oil pressure is 60 to 70 pounds when the engine is warm.
Matching numbers car as per the Heritage Certificate and Original color combination of Signal Red with black interior.
A rare earlier model without big, ugly, black rubber bumpers.
The earlier engines and cars (like this one) had higher 9:1 compression. In October of 1972 and after, all USA and Canadian cars received low compression pistons and in September 1973 all cars had new camshafts with changed cam profiles. This car was produced before these changes.
The car runs and drives exceptional. It is very fast and tight. This E-type handles great and is a pleasure to drive. Steering is easy, the clutch feels great and the car shifts beautifully with no noise in any of the gears.
The paint on the car is excellent with a few minor chips and a few minor wear marks. We have driven this car, it is meant to be driven, a higher end drive and not a show/trailer queen. The interior is also excellent with minimal wear. The original steering wheel does show some patina and gives the car nice character. The soft top and boot are vinyl. Though they are not new, they function fine with no tears or shrinkage.
All chrome is also beautiful and looks great.
This car does not rust and the original floors are excellent from both the top side and underside.
Overall, this is a great higher end driver level Jaguar E-type V12 Roadster. It would be hard to replicate this car both cosmetically, structurally and mechanically as this car is truly right and an absolute blast to drive. Earlier model V12 roadster are becoming harder and harder to find in this condition. This is a great investment car to own and enjoy.

WASHINGTON — Britain is the United States' closest ally but their long friendship may be sorely tested as the two countries try to forge a new trade agreement after Britain's exit from the European Union. U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said on Saturday in London that he was optimistic that a bilateral deal with Britain could be reached as soon as this year. But Mnuchin gave up no ground after a second meeting with his UK counterpart, Sajid Javid. Javid has insisted that Britain will proceed with a unilateral digital services tax, despite a U.S. threat to levy retaliatory tariffs on British-made autos. Mnuchin told reporters after Saturday's meeting that such taxes would discriminate against big U.S. tech companies like Alphabet Inc's Google, Apple, Facebook and Amazon. The UK Treasury declined to comment on the private meeting. The divide highlights the challenges ahead as the Trump administration seeks a new bilateral agreement with Britain, part of a broader push to rebalance relations with nearly all its major trading partners. The stakes are high — British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has pegged the trade deal with United States as a way to ease the pain of breaking with Europe, Britain's largest trade partner. U.S. President Donald Trump, has promised a "massive" trade deal to support Brexit, the product of a populist movement similar to his "America First" agenda. The goodwill and special relationship the two countries have enjoyed for decades may not count for much, experts say. "Trump is not going to be doing Johnson any favors," said Amanda Sloat, a senior fellow with the Brookings Institution in Washington. "He's not going to give him a trade deal without major concessions." Even before the digital tax issue arose, the Trump administration threatened to tax foreign car imports, which could hit British-made Jaguar, Land Rover, Mini, and Honda Civic hatchback cars. Stiff U.S. trade demands include increased access for U.S. farm goods, concessions that will be difficult for Britain's entrenched natural food culture to swallow. The United States also wants Britain to change the way its National Health Service prices drugs and allow in more U.S. pharmaceuticals, which could prove politically unpopular for Johnson's government. Washington's demand that London block Chinese telecoms equipment maker Huawei Technologies Co Ltd for national security reasons could also cloud talks.

With little over 50 examples made and a decorated racing history, the Jaguar C-Type is one of the most sought-after models ever made by the famous British marque. Bonhams has a very special one coming up for auction – one that Sir Stiling Moss drove at Le Mans in 1952. Jaguar built chassis number XKC 011 for its works racing team in 1952. It made its debut at Silverstone at the hands of pre-war racing legend Peter Walker. Then the factory outfitted with specially elongated bodywork for Le Mans, where Moss teamed up with Walker to split driving duties. Sadly it didn't make it to the finish line thanks to an engine failure, marking the second of eight DNFs that Moss would suffer in ten campaigns at the French endurance race. Moss drove this C-Type in several more races after it was converted back to its standard bodywork. It was then raced by Ecurie Francorchamps before being sold to run in British club racing. The current owner acquired it in 1963, and has held onto it until now. XKC 011 is scheduled to highlight the upcoming Bonhams event at the Fairmont Monte Carlo during the Monaco Grand Prix Historique next May. Bonhams has not published a pre-sale estimate for how much it expects this example to sell for. However in correspondence with Autoblog, the company's auction specialist James Knight revealed: "We certainly feel the car will exceed GBP5m and has the potential to achieve much more." That base estimate works out to over $7.5 million at current exchange rates. We'll be watching to see whether the final sale price comes closer to the $3.7 million for which - according to the Sports Car Market database - Gooding sold one C-Type in 2012, or to the $13.2 million which RM Sotheby's raised for another this past August. Timed to coincide with the Monaco Grand Prix Historique, the sale will take place on 13 May 2016. "Already renowned in motorsport circles for its annual Monaco Grand Prix and Monte Carlo Rally, the glittering Mediterranean Principality is now to host the Bonhams Monaco Sale," said James Knight, Bonhams Group Motoring Director. "The auction will be carefully curated, tailored to offer only the most desirable models to the market.

Oh look, another super-hot wagon that won't be making its way to the US. Awesome.
Actually, in all honesty, it really is awesome. Meet the Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake, a red-hot (or blue-hot?) version of the rakish XF wagon that originally bowed at the Geneva Motor Show back in 2012. The formula here is pretty much plug-and-play: take the 5.0-liter supercharged V8 from the XFR-S and shove it in the wagon body, and add all of the necessary visual flair fitting of a properly powerful Jag. The end result is an estate that packs 542 horsepower, 502 pound-feet of torque, and the ability to sprint to 60 miles per hour in a scant 4.6 seconds. Meow.
This Jaguar joins a growing segment of ultra-hot wagons in Europe, rounded out by offerings like the Audi RS6 Avant and the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG longroof - the latter of which you can actually buy in North America. Sounds like the sort of comparison test we'd love to facilitate. Guess we'll have to leave that to our friends at Autocar, though.
