Settling the Estate of my late Father and up for auction is his numbers matching 1969 Jaguar XKE 2+2 coupe Series 2 LHD 4.2 litre, dohc, dual stromberg, 4-speed manual, w/Air conditioning. It is with a very heavy heart that we have to list this car for sale however, other financial obligations are taking precedence at this time. This car was last on the road in 2002 and has been in storage ever since. The car has been owned by our family for the past 30+ years I believe my father was the second owner. We have a current transferable registration and will write a bill of sale at the time the vehicle sells. NYS does not have titles for vehicles this old they have transferable registrations. The pictures are recent as we just pulled it out of storage this week.We are not going to wash it for all you barn find fanatics out there. As stated we pulled the car out of storage last week, took it to our shop which was owned by my father, now my brother and proceeded to get it running. It didn"t take much, we started with draining the fuel tank, cleaned the spark plugs out, topped off all the fluids, checked the oil and installed a new battery. Turn the key and bam it started right up and I was instantly reminded of riding in the passenger seat with my dad as a kid and that sound I would never forget. Car is very solid but will need a complete restoration and is sold as is. The only soft spots I could find are in the front corner of the lower rockers under the car. I assume common for these cars. The engine, transmission and clutch all perform like they should and with little work (brakes etc) it could be a weekend driver. The air cleaner is included it just didn't make it into the pictures. My father drove this car up until 2002 when we then stored it. Car is equipped with factory air conditioning and steel wheels. The original color was light blue and all the door jams engine bay reflect that. Interior is dark blue, we have some new interior parts not installed, another arm rest, we also have some extra door glass, doors, wheel caps and some other misc parts. Please bid with confidence if you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask. Vehicle is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early. Wish I could keep it for myself but its time for someone else to enjoy and restore. Good Luck Bidding. Codes: Car 1R41236 Body 4R36554 Engine 7R36759-9 Gear Box KJS1616 |

Jaguar demanding customer data from reluctant dealers
Tue, 25 Feb 2014
Nearly every major business is collecting consumer data these days, and keeping that data secure has come to the forefront of many customer's minds. Jaguar Land Rover North America's decision to begin requesting more customer info from its dealer network appears unfortunately timed, however. If it had come a few years ago, it might have been ignored, but in today's climate of heightened awareness, a few dealers are pushing back. To put the showrooms in an even tougher position, JLR NA is threatening to deny quarterly incentives if they do not turn over the customer data, according to Automotive News.
JLR NA instated the nationwide plan, which it calls Single View CRM, on February 7, but according to Stuart Schorr, Jaguar Land Rover North America Vice President of Communications, the automaker has been negotiating with its dealers to institute the new program for over a year. Schorr tells Autoblog that no financial information is being shared, noting that such data is limited to customer details, including things like what vehicles they own and whether they have any pending service. The initiative is meant to "improve customers' and owners' engagement with the brand," he said. Also, the company is not accessing dealer data itself; instead showrooms are asked to enter the info into JLR's database.
Jaguar Land Rover data leak reveals employee records, upcoming layoffs
Fri, May 25 2018A massive data leak has revealed the personnel files of hundreds of employees at Jaguar Land Rover's factory in Solihull, England. The documents reveal details such as sick days used, disciplinary issues and — most notably — red lines indicating potential firings in the weeks or months ahead. In total, the personal records of more than 600 workers were released. JLR is scrambling to contain the crisis. The breach was first reported by the Huffington Post UK, with the automaker initially claiming the story was "fake news." That publicity gaff certainly didn't help matters, especially for employees staring at their name with a red line slashed across it. Last month, the British automaker had said it would be eliminating roughly 1,000 employees at factories in the U.K. The Solihull plant, which produces models like the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Jaguar F-Pace and Jaguar XE, was among those mentioned in the statement. JLR, which is owned by the Indian conglomerate Tata Motors, is facing a steep drop in sales, particularly in its home market. The main culprits include a huge slump in sales of diesel-powered vehicles - a vital part of JLR's business in the U.K. and throughout Europe - along with fears about how the upcoming "Brexit" will affect business operations. In the HuffPost UK story, one worker called the situation "disgusting" and "embarrassing," adding that people at the factory now know whether they, or their colleagues, are soon due to lose their job. Jaguar F-Pace will debut in Frankfurt
Mon, Apr 6 2015Jaguar makes sports cars and it makes luxury sedans, but it is set to expand into new territory altogether at the Frankfurt Motor Show this coming September. That's where and when it will reveal the F-Pace, Jaguar's very first crossover, and the production version of the C-X17 concept pictured here. Developed with critical input from sister-company Land Rover, the Jaguar F-Pace is being billed as a "sports crossover," with a more on-road focus than the SUVs of its off-road counterpart. Expect a range of engines to draw principally off of the new Ingenium family of four-cylinder gasoline and diesel powerplants, capped by Jag's signature supercharged V6 – just like the new XE sedan with which it will share much of its underpinnings. We can always hope, though, for an even more potent SVR version to follow with the JLR's sensational 5.0-liter supercharged V8. The Frankfurt reveal will mark two years since the C-X17 concept was first presented at the same show in 2013. Its arrival, coupled to that of the aforementioned XE, promise to push Jaguar's global output up from around 80,000 units last year to more than 200,000 once both models hit their stride.
